  1. Just the regular extra strength ones.... They provide more of an instant relief... I take otc generic zantac 150 twice a day as well but definitely suggest chewing on some Tumms when needed. Good Luck!
  2. Wow... Sushi is one of my faves but I like the rolls versus sashimi... I am lucky to get 3 pieces of a roll down now though.... LOL Prior to surgery I could eat 2-3 whole rolls!! Love me some sushi!!!!!
  3. I had my surgery in Mexico and while my mother went with me I would have totally done it by myself.. There were 2 other ladies that had their surgery the same day as me and they were by themselves... Not sure which surgeon you are using or where you are staying but I was in the Marriott in Tijuana and my stay was very comfortable. Best of Luck!
  4. Try chewing on some Tumms.... should provide some relief.. Heartburn is the ONLY issue I have had since my surgery. I also take otc Heartburn meds twice a day.... Good Luck!
  5. I'm 4 1/2 months out from surgery and when I graduated from High School I was 235. I am down 83 lbs now and weighing in at 249. I tried on my senior prom dress last weekend and it's too big so YES!! Inches do come off quicker... Plus, our body shapes change over time. I know mine definitely has! I am also losing evenly which is good.. I have lost 10 inches on my bust, chest and hips for a total of 30 inches in just those 3 key areas!!! I am LOVIN my sleeve!!!!
  6. I have a weight watchers scale and it works just fine.... $49.00
  7. Extremely Normal....... Usually folks hit a stall about 3 weeks out.... Just keep doing what you are doing and your weight loss will start back up again... This happens to pretty much everyone! My advice to you is if you haven't already done it.... measure yourself ASAP! When you stall you lose inches!! Good Luck!
  8. I started taking Andrew Lessman's Hair Skin & Nails formula which you can buy online for about $30.00... I SWEAR by this stuff and I have had minimal hair loss and my nails look fabulous!! There is a good amount of Biotin in the product along with other ingredients.... Hair loss normally starts about 3-4 months post-op... I am 4 months and 3 days and while I see an increase of hair in my brush I haven't really noticed any thinness.... If I am losing hair more hair is growing in right behind it....
  9. I wasn't on birth control before but I started it one month after my surgery to make sure I didn't get pregnant while I was losing..... They say you become more fertile when you lose weight and I didn't want to take any chances.....
  10. That is WONDERFUL!!!! Congratulations!!! I am doing a 5k October 5th and at my highest weight I was 332lbs. I am 5'10 and am just hit an 80lb loss this morning - 252lbs!! I am 4 months out from my surgery and I think I may hit the 100lb mark at 6 months as well. I am ecstatic and I cannot wait to run across that finish line just like you!!!! I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!
  11. Yes! You will be fine.. I flew non-stop from San Diego to Baltimore one week after my surgery and I was good to go!! Hell, at 4 weeks I was out running, doing yardwork, etc...... Best of Luck!!
  12. took me 9 days... I didn't feel bad but I knew that I was gonna have problems when I did go and I was right!!! I had to help my situation by taking Milk of Magnesium. Whew!! It was rough!
  13. It's a great feeling!!! Today is my 4 month anniversary and I am down 78 lbs!! I totally agree that this has been the best decision I have ever made!! Congrats on your success!!!! It's only gonna get better!! YAY!!
  14. Here is the link.... I purchase from ebay though.... MUCH cheaper!!! http://www.spanx.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2990106&cp=12635685.12637235&parentPage=family
  15. I took my Spanx with me to Mexico when I had my surgery in April.. I also packed mostly maxi dresses... I can't tell you enough how glad I was to have my Spanx!! I wear the Higher Power that come up to my bra and go to my mid-thigh.. Plus, they have a split crotch which is just soooooo convenient!! They gave me the support that I needed without the tightness of a true compression garment. Plus, I had a drain and my Spanx held it in place wonderfully!!! I have always been an avid Spanx wearer because the really do smooth out my "kibbles and bits" and truly feel like a 2nd skin!! Love Them!!
  16. I was sleeved April 16th and am lucky to get down 1/2 of a lean cuisine..... I'm not counting carbs, calories, etc... but I still try to eat protein rich foods. I don't weigh my food but from my guessing I can eat about 3/4-1 cup of food in one setting. The more protein the less I eat.... Also... I am rarely hungry.... but I eat 4-5 times a day just to make sure I am getting my nutrients and keeping my metabolism in gear!
  17. Good Stuff! You will find out that when you stall you lose the most inches!! It's a great feeling when you get into a smaller size and even better feeling when it's loose!!! YAY!
  18. Like the others.... I have one as well... Talks about the procedure that I have had, it has my picture on it, my surgery day weight, Dr. info, etc... It's actually a very nice card... BUT.... never had to use it... I look at it as a souvenier and a reminder of my surgery day.
  19. You are stalling..... it happens to everyone and usually hits 3-4 weeks post-op Did you measure yourself??? When I stalled, I lost the most inches! I will be 4 months out on Thursday and I am down almost 80 lbs and have lost 10 inches each on my hips, waist AND chest.... So, 30 inches and 80 lbs in 4 months?? yeah.. I'll take it!! You WILL start losing again... TRUST ME!!! Your body is playing catch up... Stop worrying and just keep doing what you are doing..... the weight will come off!!
  20. I am almost 4 months out and I chew gum A LOT! No issues at all...
  21. that is the only side effect that I have had from my surgery.... Try some Mylanta before bedtime.. It coats your stomach and should provide you some relief. Also, I keep Tumms on hand for quick relief..... Good Luck!
  22. I never had an issue with taking pills and the Vitamins are normal sized pills from what I have seen. Even though it says to take 4 I take 1 or 2 daily and I also take an additional B12 and Vitamin D supplement that I get online from Andrew Lessman. The capsules are small, about 1/2 the size of Enspira. Andrew Lessman also makes a hair, Skin and Nails supplement that I swear by! My nails have never looked better, my skin is glowing and I have had very minimal hair loss.
  23. I loved bananas as well but it's one thing that I cannot tolerate since my surgery. No allergy or reasoning behind it. A lot of folks taste buds change once they have their surgeries... It's almost like learning how to eat again. I used to love leftovers and had no problem eating foods that were 1 or 2 days old.. Now??? forget about it....
  24. Try drinking some Vitamin Water Zero, Powerade Zero or Gaterade G2. It really helped to keep me hydrated after surgery and has the added potassium that you need.
