  5. It is the same story. No tricks, no easy way out. You have to watch what you eat. maybe do the protein shakes to curve your eating.
  6. That is great. All on one sheet.
  7. I hurt real bad on the left too. At 2 weeks. I think it had to do with the retraction on the liverduring surgery. I didnt hurt untill after my 2 week visit. I wasnt doing much around the house so it wasnt that. Some said I wsnt drinking enough, It wasnt that. It finally went down on the pain scale. Took about 2 weeks to totally go awat. Stabbing pain at times. Took pain meds and waited.
  8. I tell people I am on a special diet and nothing fits it I will eat later, and have something small. If they ask I say a high protein. Must people understand..
  9. If your insurance will not pay, Good luck in Mexico. Do you have a Dr. to go to if problems come up here? Find one. Even here in the states things can to wrong, but are medicine here is so much better. Mexico isnt as bad as the news makes it out to be.
  10. Feb. 27, pre-op weight 276. Down to 220. 56 pounds. It has slow down alot.
  11. I too ate before it was time. The big worry is the staple line in your stomach going to hold before it is healed? If you get a leak it is bad news.
  12. I did this too, I got sick alot. My stomach wasnt happy with me. It just takes time.
  13. The whey protein doesnt have the lactose in it. So people should be able to drink it without problems from the milk it come from. This is my understanding.
  14. I was depressed for a short time. It went away. But if you worry let your Dr. know so if you need any med. he can help.
  15. Mine did it also. but I am taking meds. It maybe because you are not drinking a large amount and you salt intake is down. Just watch to see if your blood pressure stays low. This maybe your new pressure. Maybe talk to your regular Dr.
  16. Put it on ice. The lime one is like salty 7Up. Cherry isnt as good. Drink fast and sip something after.
  17. I didnt have to do blood test until my surgery date was set. I have H.Pylo, and insurance paid. i didnt have to redo, gave me a pack of meds to take for 2 weeks very costly. 1000. without insurance 90 with mine..I did mine at TLC surgery houston
  18. Yes. Like I wanted pizza. i ate the cheese off a slice slow. No crust. I ate pickles without theskins. I dont want pickles anymore. So it depend what your craving is. dont binge, eat it slowly. You dont want to hurt the stomach incision and cause a leak.
  19. Shop for liquids before surgery because it will keep you on track after surgery. Buy different protein shakes and drinks also. I hate the sugar stuff after surgery. I took tea I liked to the hospital because they give you stuff you might not like. I am only 28 days out. I like my cup that keeps my water cold for a long time it goes from room to room with me. Worry most about fuilds, protein shortage will not put you back in the hospital as fast as not drinking. LISTEN to you stomach. Good luck.
  20. I also had a problem with the protein shakes I just stopped drinking them and tried eggs. Eggs made my stomach hurt even cooked soft with cheese in them. i got unfavored protein and added it to mashed potatoes and tomato soup, I ate a lot of marinara sauce with cheese. I too dont like alot of stuff after surgery. It is better to eat somesthing you can keep down.
  21. Maybe you weren't ready for beans. Try other stuff. A leak will hurt really bad. It might be gas pains, they can hurt really bad I too hurt for unknown reasons. 1 week is still early. If i hurt i just took my pain med. It helps.
  22. I have seen others with the lap band. They lost weight slowly and then found ways to eat around it. Most of them said they were still hungry a lot. A few had to get a surgical scope done to remove food that was to big to pass down, ..pain. It works for some and not others. Eating around it is the biggest problem. Like shakes and cheesie and gooie food that will pass down easy. just keep reading. Good luck
  23. It is great. I did mine 24 days ago. The hardest thing is changing the way you think. I still go to the kitchen and look and I am not even hunger nor can i EAT. The diet is the hardest. The protein intake is hard. Just read other post It made me feel better. Good luck
  24. I think it would be great in a group meeting to try all these drinks. They cost alot
