  1. Oops! Duplicate post.
  2. I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you. I just wanted to say I'm sorry you are going through this and I hope you feel better soon. Please keep is posted.
  3. I'm confused. You ate in the recovery room? What did you eat in recovery and what are you eating now that you can eat as much as?
  4. Obviously, you know you should try and not cheat. You sure don't want your doctor to get in there to do the surgery and back out because your liver hasn't shrunk enough. There was a girl on here awhile back who posted about that happening to her. If you do cheat (and I'm not advocating that) don't cheat with a high carb meal. Carbs is what keeps your liver from shrinking. I agree with the other poster that you should still be fine though. The preop diet does get easier. I promise. Hang in there and before you know it, you won't be craving carbs and you'll have tons of energy. Best of luck to you in your journey.
  5. Yeah, it sounds like plantar fasciitis to me but only a doctor can tell you for sure. I have it in both feet but successfully have it under control. I stretch my feet a lot. I put the ball of my foot on the edge of my bathtub and push down as hard as I can on tje top pf my knee. It stretches that muscle that runs from your heel to the ball of your foot. Also, you can use ice on it. Oh, and shoes without good support like sandals will aggravate it. Running and walking can too. It is a pain to get under control but with diligence you can. I'm even to the point of being able to wear sandals again.
  6. I don't know how far out you are or if you ate able to take pills. I had to get another pain med 4 days out and my doctor had no problem with my request for a pill so long as my sleeve could handle it. It handled it fine and I've been taking all my meds and vitamims/supplements in pill form since. I hope you feel better soon.
  7. Wow Tshaunda! Congrats on your success so far. You are rockin' your sleeve. Keep up the great work.
  8. I think the support you can get could be good. However, as one poster pointed out, you probably won't be able to eat the number of points you'd be given. You can learn a lot about nutrition though. Be careful about telling them you had surgery. I've seen quite a bit of negatives posts about WLS on the WW support boards. I think the presumption is that WLS is the easy way out. To their credit, I used to think surgery was the easy way out too. That is, until I became more educated. Good luck to you.
  9. I didn't have one prior to my VSG surgery, but did have one after my final gallbladder attack. I don't remember for sure, but it seems like it took quite some time. I remember the tech looking at all kinds of things in my abdomen because, as she moved around. She told me what she was looking at. "Good" thing all she found was a bad gallbladder that had to come out ASAP.
  10. Hi PJones. Thanks for sharing your experience. I wanted to stop by here and welcome you to VST. This place is wonderful and the people and support here is amazing. Congrats on your success thus far! Keep up the good work. I look forward to getting to know you. Best of luck to you in your journey.
  11. I just wanted to pop in and say y'all can do it! Be strong and before you know it, you won't even think about them anymore. The beginning is the roughest but it does get easier. I quit 6 1/2 years ago and it is so freeing not to have cigarettes controlling my life and making me stink. I admire those of you quitting during this process.
  12. When you are on liquids, it very important to find a variety of stuff you enjoy because that part of the diet gets old quick.
  13. I too am in the Dallas area and I paid $12,000.00.
  14. I will try and find it there. I definitely want to try it. Thanks!
  15. I lived off them on my preop diet. I paid right around 24 to 25 dollars for a case. Now postop, I'm having trouble drinking them as i no find them too sweet While I was under anesthetic having surgery, my doctor must've taken out my sweet tooth too. I didn't have much of one prior to surgery, but now I have absolutely none.
  16. I'm 4 1/2 weeks out. In the beginning I got a sharp bubble feeling pain right between my breasts if I took a normal drink. I don't anymore so long as its a normal size drink. I can take several pretty good sized gulps in a row now and still feel that pain slightly. However, if I'm "dying" of thirst, it is not enough to stop me from gulping.
  17. I record my weight every Monday. Every 4 weeks I take pics and do my measurements. I'm a big digital scrapbooker and am documenting this stuff in scrapbook style. I intend to put make it into a hard back book when I reach goal. I also have a blog. It started out as a way for me to document my journey for me. I've put useful information in there though that can help people who are early in their journey. Personally, I'd rather over document my journey than under document it. Best of luck in your "new" life.
  18. Blondeej gave me an idea when she started the new thread for those of us in a stall. How about one of us starts a new thread each month as a cental locale for us all to hang out and chat? We could title it like I did this one, June Sleever's - July. Next month will be June Sleever's - August and so on. That way, it will keep one thread from becoming too long. So, how is everyone doing and what's going on in your world? I am finally feeling "normal" with the exception that I can no longer stuff my face with a ton of food. I've had a lot of issues with pain but that has now resolved so I am looking forward to starting an exercise regime....at least a cardio one. I'm not sure I'm clear for weights yet. I have my 6 week follow up on July 18th so I will be sure to find out then. I hope all you other June girls and guys (or is it just our one guy, Dadto2?) are doing well.
  19. Darla5060 brings up a good point. A HUGE point. Snacking on the wrong things could actually hurt you. Your sleeve is still in the very early stages of healing and eating something contraindicated could cause a leak or worse! I know it is hard but you have to hang in there for your health!
