  1. I'm a teacher and am doing two weeks. Planned only a week, but there was no way I was ready to go back.
  2. I can eat cream of wheat until the mushy stage. You don't want your stomach to be doing much work at this stage. Be careful.
  3. Hang in there. Timing is everything. If it is meant to be for you, it will happen! Not now does not mean never! In the meantime, work hard, maybe you won't need this at all and if you do, the option will still be around later. I know it is discouraging, but don't lose hope.
  4. The worst is gas pains which I found out today I have been drinking too quickly. Everything else wa not bad really, just slow moving around, but today I felt a little more pep in my step.
  5. I admire those of you who have families to cook for and stick to your plan. I am single so i can put all my energy into myself. I agree with everyone else. Itmisnhard to change our mindset, but it's a great time to start. I had to realize that fear of failing is exactly what made me fail in the past. But then I also learned to look at my past failures differently. Failing would mean never having the courage to keep trying. Nobody that has chosen surgery is a failure becasue this sure takes a lot of courage. You could have just given up and said I'll just be fat. The fact that you are still trying makes you an overcomes, not a failure. I am 10 days post op and suffered from a little buyers remorse the days I felt so bad. But I'm just reminding myself why I did this. This phase is a healing diet. Liquids are not going to fill you up and get rid of hunger, but will allow your body to heal. Think of it like that and try to increase your protien if you have not done so. Like someone else said, use this time to eat more of the things the doc said yo can have. Like I have had more Popsicles than I can count! I would never eat all that sugar normally, but right now I'm concentrating on healing and there is no way I can over eat becasue my body just can't stand it. Good luck to you!
  6. I was allowed to eat all those things on the liquid food stage. Makes a difference in the hunger I think. I have had thick soups and anything I can liquefy!
  7. Everyone check out the may bandsters thread under the pre op section. There is a lot of good conversation there from those of us all banded this month.
  8. I was may 14th as well. I'm actually not hungry I think due to the swelling and i have suffered from terrible gas for the last 8 days. When your stomach hurts, food is not a thought. When you get hungry that is a sign it's time to move to the next stage, that is what my doc says. Can you add some calories or protien. Are you getting enough? Check out the may bandsters thread under the pre op section if you have not done so already. There is great conversation there all from people banded this month.
  9. I noticed mine changed too, I'm an addict now!
  10. I have the same as you plus the chocolate. The chicken is ok and of course the unflavored I will use more on the mushy stage because I can do in applesauce and things like that. It is the chocolate I don't care for, but it is only temporary.
  11. No I only ordered the unjury and I have gnc shakes, which I like.
  12. I think we have all gone through these emotions, this s a huge step. I did a lot of crying pre op and guess what, I feel better now. It is a journey, be patient with yourself. We are all in this together.
  13. I'm a teacher and now tat I am 6 days post op am taking 2 weeks. Standing all day is not happening for me.
  14. My gas has been bad. Comes out from the top and bottom, either way, I welcome it. I am a teacher also and my doc said i should take 2 weeks. This time I'm going to listen. I have had surgeries before and am pretty sickly with colds and bad allergies. I always go back too early, and regret it. Not this time. Good luck to you.
  15. If you live near a gnc, thy will let you taste. I like the total lean and lean muscle meal, not a fan of unjury, but everyone is different. Good luck to you.
  16. Come the may bandsters thread, found under pre op section. There are many of us there sharing our day to day stories. I was may 14th.
  17. I have a problem drinking man made stuff too, but it is what we have to do for awhile. As far as bariatrics advantage, supposedly they are chemically formulated for bariatrics patients, but they are costly and I'm not sure why they ad making you purchase from them. It is like anything else, there are cheaper options out there. It is all about personal taste. For me, I still like gnc total lean the best. Many people like unjury, but I don't. I have high blood pressure and becaue I eat little salt, it is too salty for me. The chocolate tastes bad to me too, but many people love them. I think it is important to taste around, but you have to follow docs order too. Makes it hard. Good luck to you.
  18. I'm only 5 days post op and burping is great! Makes me feel like some of the pressure is released. Have to learn how to be polite about though
  19. My dog just came home yesterday and I had surgery on Monday. I sure did miss him, but i had a friend who also has a dog keep him for me. It was nice not having to walk him at least the day after surgery, but I think having him home would have forced me to walk, which I did a few times today. He knows I'm not myself, sniffed all around my chair when he came in and has been laying with me. I live alone, so he's crucial for my recovery, good company and walks are needed.
  20. I am still on liquids, but had a cup of broccoli soup that I added water to and put in the blender even though it w already pretty smooth. I had a cup and it we t down ok but I took a half hour to eat it.
  21. Wow, everyone is in a different place as far as what motivates you. Getting the band does not eliminate your mental struggles with over eating and it does not mean that you no longer like snacks and unhealthy things. I think it takes courage to come on here and say you are struggling. I think everyone struggles from time to time, the key is knowing your struggles and figuring out a way to conquer them. If everyone was perfect, none of us would have needed surgery. I am only 5 days post op and have been overweight all my life. I have been successful on diets before and swore that was the time things were going to be different, but here I am. So I am highly motivated, but know there are days I will struggle. If some are not struggling and can say you are perfect, I commend you, but many of us will have struggles. Struggle does no equal lack of success, so keep pressing on.
