  1. So...11 days post op and venturing into soft real foods. I am somewhat nervous about the calorie intake. Of course it will be higher than my liquid diet was but, I'm concerned about gaining weight. Did anyone have a setback once you added real food? Also, I have been reading the daily meals and wonder...does anyone track how many grams of carbs, fat & protein in a day. What suggestions for numbers does anyone have or am I worrying too much?
  2. Discovered 11 days post op and all is well!!!
  3. Hi everyone! I'm on day 11 post op. I'm feeling great. I'm off all meds and venturing out there with soft foods. Love tilapia, broccoli, and enjoy getting to have pudding. Went out to eat twice with family yesterday. (Soup for lunch and the tilapia for dinner.) No issues except...I needed a to go box!!!!
  4. Really? Nervous about my first one.
  5. I am just curious when everyone thinks is an appropriate time to engage again? I'm one week post op.
  6. So when is is appropriate to engage again? I am one week post op.
  7. I think I am also fighting the normal day to day struggle of scheduling with my hunger. Before surgery, I would eat after school. I still think I should be hungry then. I probably am but I need to occupy my mind with something else. Monday will be 2 weeks post op and I am getting hungry. This next week I get to go to soft foods. 16. Hi everyone... Update-my surgery was on Monday and I am feeling so much better. I went shopping today with my mom and daughters. I have only had pain meds. once today and that was this morning. Walking has been fine. I am drinking 70 grams of Protein a day (3 shakes-25 grams each), 2 cups of chicken broth (love it!) and 1 sugar free Jello each day. I have to take my time and this usually takes me all day to get everything in but I am NOT hungry. I am making myself finish the Protein shakes. I am also working on my Water intake. I am learning that I have to pace myself throughout the day. What used to take no time to drink a Protein shake, may take me about an hour or longer now. I am fine with that. I haven't lost anything since the surgery but I am trying not to weigh each day. I lost 14 before surgery. I am letting my body adjust and do what it needs to. Personal note-BM made on third day. I was pretty nervous about this but Dr. told me to try Milk of Magnesia. Worked! I hear my stomach churning alot. I am paying attention and when I hear it, I am happy that everything is functioning. Monday, I begin tomato Soup phase. Still protein shakes but moving into thicker substances. The third week will become soft foods and limiting shake intake but still getting in appropriate protein amounts. 4th week-1 shake along with lunch and dinner. My incisions are healing and I really am not in pain. Only when I try to stretch or turn in a weird way. I am able to function and will be going back to work on Monday. I am really happy and everything is going as I expected. Good luck to everyone!
  17. That is great. I am also going to True Results in Houston. I just had my surgery on Monday. I am little nervous about the saline. Who did your surgery? Dr. Hollis? I am very happy for you. 33 pounds is a great jump!
  18. I use Pure Protein shakes. They aree already mixed and come in little bottles. I buy the 4 pack for like 6.00 at Target. I like them better chilled. I do not like the vanilla so I only drink the chocolate. They make it in a powder too and the whole container is like 17.00.
  19. I had the same thing...allergies. They still did the surgery but let me tell you the lingering cough after the surgery while trying to heal has been tough. Try running to your family doctor and see if they can prescribe you something. Mine gave me a 3 day antibiotic. It helped somewhat. Good luck to you.
