  1. I too had my surgery on March 12. I am 30 live NYC and am always willing to talk/ listen! 5'4" and sat red out pre op at 234 pounds. I am currently 216 as of 3/25. If you want to talk I am here message me anytime.
  2. I too was sleeved on the 12th. I started back at the gym today. It went pretty well I was able to do 2 miles on the treadmill and one on th elliptical. I starred my mushies and have done pretty well with instant mashed potatoes. God luck and keep us updated on your progress. I am loving my sleeve ad I know you will too!!!
  3. I needed to read this today. I have been sleeved for 15 days and I am down 21 pounds. I am happy with my sleeve but It has become a little more difficult to get through the routine every day. Seeing that you have your own approach to this whole new lifestyle is very encouraging to me. I didn't get sleeved to become a size two I just really want to be healthy and stick around as long as possible for my kids! Thanks for keeping it real and showing me that I don't need to be a slave to the scale!
  4. Wonderful or should I say Onederful! Keep up the good work
  5. Piper I was scared that I wouldn't be able to enjoy my once a week drinks with my hubby too! I am certain that once I am ready for that step I will be fine. I have convinced myself that I will take it slow and sip my wine and I will okay. With the advice of my surgeon I am waiting until I am on to my 5th week.
  6. Lysh I wish I could relate in some way but I have yet to have a problem. I will tell you that getting the protien in has been a struggle from the beginning for me and I have not graduated to "real" food yet I am still only having " full l iquds" and 2x I have had 2 ounces f mashed potatoes. I would say number one get all your water in. I am drinking 80 ounces a day and I also walk at least 2 miles per day. The pain you are experiencing may be gas. From day one I have nhad to take at least 3 chewable gas ex a day. I also take pre acid and this really helps my stomach pain from all f t acid. I on know if any of this will help bu I wish you much luck and keep up with the forum people on er have gotten me through a lot and I am just starting my journey.
  7. That is amazing and so inspiring. Congrats!
  8. Hey girls! I too am a new yorker. Manhattan. I was also sleeved on the 12 th. As of today I have lost 21 pounds and although I love the weigh loss every time I look out my window and see Rays pizza I could die for a slice!! Good luck to you!
  9. Wonderful!! Congrats to you! You are inspiration!!
  10. Yes I will certainly sip one from home first I would not want to be embarrassed! Thank you guys!!
  11. Kimmy thank you for your post. I do love reading this blog but sometimes it is hard to find the someone who has the same opinion as I do, I am a new yorker and almost every thing we do here involves alcohol, am not saying I HAVE to drink but I was hoping to see someone who actually did drink and how they reacted to the alcohol.
  12. I am normally the " drinker " of the bunch so I will have to respond to my non drinking but I am a terrible liar. I will most likely ge he drink and just not drink it or order a juice and try to pawn it off as a cocktail. I do not want anything to derail my weight loss alcohol is not that important! Thanks to all for your suggestions!
  13. Am only 13 days post op and have no plans to drink alcohol in the near future but I am curious about how long one should wait before having a glass of wine? I have an event in April and at that time I will be 6 weeks post op. I am going to be asked to have a drink and I really don't want to let on that anything is different as I have kept this surgery pretty much to myself. Do any of you out there think it will be ok to have the wine?
  14. I too was sleeved on March 12. I also ave no trouble getting my liquids in. I am very comfortable eating puddings and applesauce so I am just hoping that once solids come in to play I will get that " full feeling". it's a bit scary that I am ok with everything so far.
  15. I too am in my second week post op and today was the first day I wa starving!! I don't know why because I had my protien shake and have about 40 ounces of water in already. I don't want eat but I don't know what to do. My doctor did clear me for mushies but I am afraid if I start eating I will not see a big loss this week. This is much harder than I expected. Gotta just get through this day and move on to the next I guess! Good luck!!
  16. Barrbdoll I was trolling this site for a month before surgery it is really wonderful to see others success it gives you so much motivation. Good luck on your journey and keep posting to this site everyone here seems so supportive!!
  17. Congrats on all of your success. Being a newbie you have more than inspired me and made me laugh like hell! Good luck to you and I look forward to reading more of your posts!
  18. So I had posted at 5 days out an 11 Pound loss well I am now days out and I just felt lighter this morning and low and behold I get on the scale and I am down 15.3 pounds!! I have never felt more motivated to do anything in my life. The journey will be tough but well worth the effort! Happy Tuesday loves!!
  19. I have the same typeof rash. It is really bad it started first only over the incision sites but now has spread. I see the doctor on wednesday, cortisone nor benedryl are working. This sucks.
  20. Today was my first Sunday after surgery and while I am enjoying the benefits of this sleeve I also just got a jolt of reality NO SUNDAY DINNER! Coming from a very traditional Italian family this was a very hard thing for me to deal with. I know it is not forever but missing even just one was hard on my heart. I know I made the right decision and 11 pounds down this is already a blessing but wow did I want that family dinner. I have just 3 days until I can eat some peanut butter and hummas I am going to just take one day at a time and keep my eye on the prize but man do I want some Maccaroni! Lol! Hope you all had a great weekend.
  21. Thanks guys. I am so happy I found this site!!
  22. Thought I was going to have a melt down last night I was so hungry " head" hunger not belly hunger but I stuck it out and got on the scale this morning well 11 pounds down after only 6 days post op and I am so motivated!! Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels! I am. Long way from my goal but I am really focused now!
  23. Thank you! Yes it s only around where the surgical tape is. No oozing or oder. I will probably call the doctor and see about getting cortisone or something for the itch.
  24. Okay so this may sound disgusting but I am 5 days out and I noticed this very red raised rash around each of my incision sites. Has anyone had these symptoms and if so what did you do?
  25. Hey. I am four days post op and I too Have a grumbling tummy. I find if I drink 1 ounce of broth r isopure it goes away for a Couple of hours. I was advised to just keep sipping water every 10 or so to keep the full feeling and it should go away by next week. Hope it is true! Good luck!
