  1. I know it seems crazy that they are so different. Mine moved from 3 weeks clear liquids to soft foods. So I started with between soft & pureed I guess. You can puree a fried egg though! LOL - I'm sure it won't be pretty but the taste will still be the same!
  2. Hot broths help!! A nice hot cup of decaf tea or bullion really works wonders. Almost like soaking in a bath - lol! Hang in there - this too shall pass!
  3. Well I did it!! My first post-op meal of real food was today! I hate scrambled eggs so I made myself a fried egg (used tiny bit of Crisco olive oil spray), smashed it up real well with my fork. Also made a real tiny potato (mashed and blended in my magic bullet). Total food prepared was probably about 1/3 cup. I knew I wasn't going to be able to eat it all, but was counting on leftovers. I was able to eat 3/4 of the egg and about 1/4 of the potato. So about 2.5 tablespoons. Doesn't sound like much but after 3 weeks of liquids (no mushy stage) it was awesome and I was completely satisfied. I stopped after burping twice and my nose started to run a little bit! I had read so many of your accounts on here that I used that as my trigger and felt the fullness! LOVE IT - LOVE IT - LOVE IT!!
  4. Don't think they will band a sleeve patient Sally. No need.
  5. Loookkkkiiinnngg good! Lol! Congrats!
  6. Right, even though it is minimally invasive it is still invasive. Still go through muscles to get inside you!
  7. I do know that you do have the option to have Bypass after you have had the Sleeve if you are not satisfied. You haven't shut the door on that option for good.
  8. Congrats! Hope the recovery breezes by and you are home soon!
  9. Clean the cat box and put fresh litter in before you go. Also, if you can have one of your friends change it out for you on the next go around so you don't have to lift anything heavy. Make sure you have a clear path to the restroom, move your area rugs and make sure all your electrical cords are along the walls and out of the way. (tripping hazards) Buy lots of different Clear liquids, like FUZE Slenderize, Diet Green Tea, Crystal Light mixes, Diet V-8 Splash, sugar free Popsicles, etc. A variety is nice when all you can have is clear liquids. Soups are good along with just plain chicken/beef bullion cubes. (low sodium if you can find them) Just a few things that helped me out. I had someone there, but really I took care of myself.
  10. If you aren't taking any nausea meds you might call your doctor's office for a prescription.
  11. I like the Watermelon ones the best. Just tried the Blue Raspberry and they are pretty good too!
  12. Awesome congrats!! I too started trying on some clothes in the back of my closet yesterday and whoo hoo that was nice!
  13. Congrats and sounds like you are partaking in a few pain meds! LOL - hope it is a smooth journey and don't forget to walk!!
  14. Are you still using your spirometer? Running a fever? Are you sure it isn't pneumonia?? I would call my surgeon's office for instructions.
  15. I had the same teeth chattering and cold shivers for about a week after surgery. I have always been extremely hot (probably partly due to my weight) but the last few days I have had to turn the air conditioner up to 79 degrees and today in Walmart I was freezing.
  16. I was not told no gum and I do chew it on occasion because it's the only thing besides jello and popsicles I can chew until Monday!
  17. Depends on your surgeon. I too am on liquid diet until day 21. Start soft foods on Monday.
  18. Drink some hot bullion that will help with those grumpy hunger pains and attitude! Well it did for me anyway!
  19. Only 3 weeks out so far and today I decided to pull some clothes out of the closet I couldn't wear for the last 4 years and yep they fit and even better yet, I better hurry up and wear them because they aren't going to fit for long. One of my great friends is quite pleased with this because she has already started shopping in my closet!
  20. Some of us just have back cramps instead of stomach ones. I always have and then when I had my children, yep I had back labor instead of stomach labor. With my first one, my stomach got really hard, but it was my back that hurt, not my stomach! I had to call a friend to make sure I was really in labor.....so with number 2 I knew the drill.
  21. LOL - or even grabbing that blanket and pillow and sleeping right next to that throne!!
  22. Yes, it's normal, your body is still recovering!
