Has anyone else experience cold shivers after being sleeved? Recently, I have been getting the cold shivers attack that go across my whole body. They usually last about thirty minutes and it feels like it starts around my stomach area. Once I throw-up I feel better. I am currently nothing by mouth so it is not anything I am eating or drinking.

If so, is there anything I can do to do stop the shivers?

I've been super cold since surgery on Monday, but I think it's bc ive dropped 17lbs and maybe the blood thinner that was given to me. I have been lucky and not thrown up at all since surgery. I hope you get go feeling better:-)

I had cold shivers for about a week after the surgery, I think it has to do with the meds and the fact that you are burning fat so fast! I still get them once in a while (4 weeks today) and it's when I loose weight

I was cold and sat wrapped up in a blanket and turned up the furnace for the first 2 months post op. I just could not seem to feel warm. This is caused by your body and the changes that are taking place. Mine has finally gone away but then the weather is also getting warmer so whatever the reason I am happy

I had the same teeth chattering and cold shivers for about a week after surgery. I have always been extremely hot (probably partly due to my weight) but the last few days I have had to turn the air conditioner up to 79 degrees and today in Walmart I was freezing.

Omg I'm not the only one! It's 83 outside and I'm wearing a jump suit and wool socks with blankets. I can not get warm! I'm 3 days out and freezing!!!

I'm 14 months out and live in sweaters and my fleece jacket. Immediately post-op I think I was freezing due to metabolic changes induced by surgery, but now I think I'm cold because I've lost all my "insulation." My feet and hands are always freezing and the car heater is usually on high all the time.

Same here, 10 months out and cold most all the time. i'm hoping summer will be here soon.

I think being cold is something we just have to live with, not sure it's ever gonna go away.

My car heater is set to 80 all the time...hands still cold, rings slide around my fingers, bugs me...lol

Thank god for my hot flashes at times...lol every little bit of warmth helps....lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
