  1. My little boy is 7 and I was worried he would be scared so I just told him that mommy had to have surgery on her tummy and I would be in the hospital for a few days. He asked if it didn't work right and I said "that's right it doesn't work right". After this one question he didn't ask anything else. When he gets older I will tell him the type of surgery, but at this point I don't think he'd understand. He has noticed I've lost weight, but he thinks it's because I've been exercising. He tells me I look skinny. This by far is my favorite compliment as kids are so honest. Side note, I'm not skinny, but am 4 mos post op tomorrow and have lost 52 lbs and have 48 to go.
  2. We all love Patrick on VST. Such a positive, funny guy. He will do great. So glad he has you to take care of him. It will be important for his recovery and his WL journey. Thanks for the update.
  3. You will be dropping even more weight before you know it! Great job on pre-op and good luck tomorrow!!!
  4. I am almost 4 months post op and have had 3 periods so far. The first 2 were horrible, bad cramps, nausea, back ache, fatigue, crankiness, the whoever nine yards. My last one I never had a single symptom is was coming. No pre-menstrual signs at all, no cramps, no back pain and other than bleeding and a little bloating I almost forgot I was on it. I hope the rest of them are this way.
  5. On June 20th I reported no loss from the previous post on June 13th. I weighed 196.2 lbs that week. Fast forward 2 weeks to today and I weigh 191.8. That's a 4.4 lb loss in 2 weeks. Woo! Hoo! My goal for this challenge was to lose 11 lbs. I started this challenge at 201 so I am 1.8 lbs away with 1 week to go. Here are my original goals: 1. Get to Onederland-COMPLETED 2. Lose 11 lbs 3. Work out 3-4 times per week (I'm at 4-5 times) 4. Track all my food in MFP (been diligently inputting my food) 5. Get to week 5 of C25K. (I may not make it-I found Zumba and fell in love. However I am on week 4) New goals: Same as above, plus I would like to get to 189. So 2.8. lbs to go in 1 week. Fingers, toes, eyes, arms and legs crossed! Good luck everyone as we end this last week of the July 4th challenge.
  6. I was still sore through week 2. Hmmm, yes I think although the action of turning on my side was painful from what I remember. I don't think I tried. Yes, was bruised through week 3. Also, i was very weak (bone crushing weak, not tired, but weak) on the 2nd, 3rd and a some on the 4th week. Everyone is different, but it might be a good idea to know it may hit you. Also, while during the mushy food stage I went through regrets and depression about getting sleeved. I couldn't eat normal food, wasn't seeing weight loss and thought I had made a huge mistake. By week 6 I was so happy I had done the surgery. I just think it's important to hear others experiences so you know what could happen. Everyone is different and you may never experience what I went through. I'm almost 4 months post op now and feeling great and down 52lbs. I hope you recover quickly. Good luck to you!
  7. WOO-HOOOOOO!!!! I love your post. I'm so happy for you! You are a great success story. Keep up the great work. I love the new screen name too.
  8. The timing of this thread or me finding it is perfect for today. I was wearing some of my old comfortable Victorias Secret cotton panties today and they felt weird. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with them. You know the cotton crotch area where you have a seam at the front and the back? Well the seam in the back of the crotch was halfway up my bottom today and it felt weird like when the seam of your sock on your foot isn't right. I couldn't figure out what in the world was going on because these undies fit me last week. Anyway I went into the bathroom and saw that the tops of my undies were pulled over my pants and even bunched up and this is why they didn't feel loose. Lol! Needless to say, those undies have been thrown away. I'm buying cheap Hanes until I get to goal. Good luck on your undie quest!
  9. Wow! Congrats Former_VBG! So happy for you.
  10. Fortunately for me my DH was very supportive because he wanted me healthy and around long enough for our son to grow up. He never dreamed that there would be benefits for him. Since losing 50+ lbs, my energy and activity level have skyrocketed. He's getting lucky way more often and we are actually social now and doing more as a couple. I didn't realize how my weight affected our marriage in such a negative way because I was so unhappy with me. Having this surgery has not only been the best thing I've done for my health, but also for my marriage. We celebrate 12 years this year and I feel like we are in the honeymoon stage all over again. I still have 48 lbs to goal, but I'm living life again already and life couldn't be better. Let him get on VST and look at all the stories. Go on to YouTube.com and look at all the before and afters. Maybe this will help him come around. Good luck!
  11. I sure hope bald and skinny becomes the "in" thing as I am on my way to both. Lol!
  12. Okay, so this is a visual of my hair loss. This is from my morning bath. There is no way my hair growth can keep up with this loss. I will be bald at this rate.
  13. I would also like to add two more words that are being misused. To-I need to get my butt to the gym. Too-Can you please add me to MFP too (not to)? Weight-I lost weight today! Weigh-My starting weight (not weigh) was 200 lbs. How about periods and question marks? I see people that never use a single punctuation mark and I can't tell where the sentence ends or begins. I bet all the people that use improper English have me beat at math. We all have our weak (not week) points. Lol!
  14. No weight loss for me this week. Still have 4 lbs to go by the 4th. Fingers crossed I make it. Congrats to others who lost!
  15. Welcome to the losers bench!!!
