  1. Not close, but still a fellow Texan. Yee Haw!
  2. I totally agree. I had an appointment at my gym to go over the weight equipment and meet with the trainers there yesterday. As luck would have it I was called to jury duty and it ran past the time of my appointment. I keep trying to make this stinkin' appointment and something always gets in the way. This will be my goal in to do by the end of the month for sure. Going on vacation next week so it will have to wait (again).
  3. I go to the YMCA mostly, but did order some Zumba DVD's on line at Zumba.com and have done them too. They are really good The set is called EXHILERATE. My Dr is Terry Scarborough with Texas Laproscopic Center of Houston or TLC Surgery. Are you in Houston too?
  4. I was sleeved in Houston, Tx (also where I live). Here is my work out schedule: Monday-Zumba Tuesday-Zumba Wednesday-Spinning or 10 mile bike ride in my neighborhood Thursday-Jogging on a treadmill Friday-off Saturday-Zumba Sunday-off or Zumba on DVD or Jogging on the treadmill Can you tell I've gotten addicted to Zumba? I have also gotten addicted to working out and feel guilty if I don't. which is a far cry to my lack of exercise before the surgery. How about you?
  5. Me too. We are sleeve sisters. We are also close to the same size starting and current. Crazy!
  6. I would be happy in this range too I guess. I just have it in my head that I want to lose 100 lbs. I'm just not sure it's doable for my frame.
  7. What is your ultimate weight loss goal? What is your frame size: small, medium or large? What was your starting weight? What is your current weight? How many months/weeks post op are you? What weights has your body stalled? Has your weight loss slowed? If so, at what month and how much? My weight loss goal is around 140 although I am not sure how realistic this is considering my large frame. I wear a size 11 shoe and my hands are so large I can actually palm a basketball. I'm like a puppy with large paws that never grew into the right size. Ha! Maybe that's why I was fat, I just never grew vertical enough? Anyway, my starting weight was 243.6 and my current weight is 189.6. I'm 4 mos post op. So far my body wanted to hang on to the 200 mark and now the 189 mark (been here for over a week despite working out and eating right every day). I've had 4 pretty substantial stalls and am averaging 8-10 lbs loss per month. I'm interested to see if I have similarities with others experiences. I want to know if my goal is too ambitious and to find out if I'm on target with the rate of loss that others my height are experiencing. I'd love to hear from you.
  8. No change for me this week. Still in my stall, but rather be in a stall the beginning of this challenge rather than the end. Congrats to all the losers this week!
  9. Sorry, I guess I should have given my info... SW: 243.6 CW: 189.6 54 lbs lost (this includes pre-op that started on 3/1/12)
  10. So happy for you. I haven't seen the 179's myself in more than 15 years. Can't wait.
  11. Also, it's not mandatory for this challenge to weigh in weekly so if you prefer every other week, every third week, or once a month it's up to you. This is a short first week so I'm sure some people may want to wait until the following week. Anything works as long as we encourage each other.
  12. I think we said Mondays since Labor Day is on Monday the 3rd. It will only be once a week so tomorrow will be the first weigh in. Good luck everyone!
  13. I have lost 54% of my excess weight or 23% of my total body weight. I'm 4 month post-op at 189.6 and starting weight was 243.6. My goal is to lose 100 lbs.
  14. I am 4 months post op and can tell you that I regretted the surgery until I got off the mushy food stage. I remember trying to blend chili and was so repulsed by liquified meat. I remember secretly crying because I just wanted to chew something and eat normal again. I was light headed and dizzy all the time because I didn't get enough water in. However, ever since I got off the mushy stage I have loved my sleeve. The joy of discovering food again with a small stomach has actually been fun. I still can't eat much (4 oz), but I can eat ANYTHING. I have not found anything that doesn't sit well with my new sleeve. I've lost 54 lbs and have about 36 to go. The way you are feeling is completely normal and I think most people go through some type of regret at some point in this journey. Just hang in there. You'll see in another 4-6 weeks you will be so happy you made this decision.
  15. Yes. I usually have to go back and either quote myself or recap my goals when I post my results so others can see my progress.
  16. We've got a lot of newbies, people close to their goal and those about to cross into Onederland. Let's all be sure to cheer each other on during this challenge and not just on weigh in days. Speaking of weigh in days, how about each Monday since Labor Day is on a Monday? Good luck to all, I cannot wait to Celebrate your success!
