4th Fill Did It! Am I too restricted???
I would say stay where you are!!! I have not had a fill yet; but have experienced what you explained....the GIANT burp that will not come up and hurts.....Then you PB and WOW the relief. I think I have figured out that it happens to me when I drink to fast, don't chew my food good enough or take tooo big of a bite. Today is my 3rd week with the BAND! And I am slowly but surely adjusting. They say if you have too much restriction you can't keep solids down; so I would think that you have hit the "sweet spot" as they call it. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP US POSTED......

This is weird!
I am having a horrible time learning not to down the whole cup of tea at once.....I went to see a Chiropractor yesterday to see if the back pain will go away; I go back today to see the X-rays and get "adjusted". He wanted to talk to my lap band doctor before he did anything else. He said it was possible that during the surgery and moving from bed to bed while I was under could have caused my back to get out of line. My poor husband has to pop my upper back everynight. As far as the ear pain; I have learned not to stuff myself and the pain never comes. :-))))

such a long process
Just to give you a little hope my first appt with the Dr. was on August 1, 2003 and I was banded on August 20, 2003...there is hope!!!

This is weird!
Thank you soooo much! The 10th with be 3 weeks and hopefully this doesn't stay with me. I feel "pressure" in my ear and throat area. My dr told me to go to my PCP; but the ONLY time I feel this is after I eat....Who knows...Thanks everyone!

Post Op depression
Hey everyone! I am Alexandra's Bandster twin; we got banded on the same day! And guess what I needed these pep talks too. I lost 15 lbs in the first 2 weeks; and have not weighed since; I am waiting till my appt on the 18th. The problem I am having is a adjusting to small bites. And when I eat just the hamburger patty off the hamburger I feel that I should have not ate that much. I know it is a daily thing and you don't just change overnite; but, boy I wish my mind did. Reprogramming your mind is not an easy thing; for the past 26 years I have ate what I wanted to; until I became Diabetic. I have only done this for 26 years; I am sure for the Bandsters that are older than me it is really hard to reprogam their mind. September 10 will be 3 weeks for me and I already feel discouarged. I am craving sweets just like every month around the same time (if you know what I mean). I ate a candy bar and then I feel like a failure; I think what am I doing??? I paid $1,300.00 to lose weight and I am eating junk!!! It seems easy before you get it done; then you feel like you didn't even have surgery and your mind tells you that you are better and you want to eat anything!! My dr. said I could start having whatever I want just to chew chew chew. I guess the "down" mood comes with the time of the month that I like the sweets...lol... Well enough of my rambling...Thanks for the pep talks...

Hospital Bill
Thank God I have insurance!! I can't come to Europe and get the band since I have already been banded! I had to pay $ 1300.00 out of pocket, which was not bad. I know the insurance will write off the disallowed and pay the rest; I just could not believe the price. I stayed in the hospital 4 nights when I had my baby; with a c-section and the bill was only $15,000.00 for me and him!!! Not really a big deal was just floored at the price!!!

Pre-Pre Banded
Hello! I was banded on 8-20 and at first was wondering what was i thinking; just cause of the soreness; and of course with any surgery you are gonna be sore. Here are my answers to your questions (good questions by the way) 1. YES!! I would do the band all over again; there is just something weird to me about cutting my stomach and intestines. 2. The hardest part was the soreness; the easiest is the weight loss. (at first) 3. This website!!!!!!!! Good Luck! and if you have any more questions just ask!!

Newly banded
Thanks!! I know what you mean about thinking you should have lost 100 lbs by now!!!! Remember even though you aren't losing weight to get the tape measure and watch the inches melt off. Hope your appt goes well!! Good Luck at work!

The envelope on the side
Does anyone know why when I post a reply or post a new thread the little envelope on the left hand side has a black dot in the middle of it?? It only happens when I post something. The envelope can not have anything on it and as soon as I post a reply the black dot shows up! It is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!!1

"New Bander"
Hell! We were banded on the same day! Are you still on the liquid diet or the mushy stage?

Dr. Felix Speigel
Hey! I am feeling wonderful! No, I did not have to do anything other than blood work, chest X-ray and and EKG! I think that either depends on your insurance or your Doctor! ? Not real sure why they have to do that!
-
Dr. Felix Speigel
That sounds wonderful! There is also a girl that works with me that had it done the day after I did. And one of the guys up here is having it done; not sure of the surgery date! I am sure that there is gonna be more people at work getting it done. Me and the other girl are the guinea pigs! Take care and will talk soon:-)

Dr. Felix Speigel
Hey both of ya'll!!! I was banded by Dr. Speigel! Kind of weird that I know both of ya'll!! Desiree, call me and let me know what the hospital said. Candace, you keep me posted!! By the way it has been a week and 1 day and I feel really good; the port site is still a little sore; but ALOT better. He told me I could start having the mushy food; so I had 2 scrambled eggs and could not have taken another bite. I guess the "full" feeling is in the chest instead of the way it used to feel. I decided to go back to the liquid stage for one more week; just to make sure that everything heals fine. Kinda made me nervous after reading about the healing and possible slippage. I am gonna postpone my fill due to our vacation; so I will not be getting in the normal 4 weeks after surgery. I am gonna wait 2 more weeks. Any way I guess so far so good! Talk to ya'll later!
