  1. Just weigh and get the staples out. You will see Dr. Spiegel. I lived on milkshakes:-)
  2. I have heard 10 years, but I have no clue if that is really true or not. I just called my Dr's office and they said that it is a lifetime thing, it doesn't have to be replaced. Not sure if that helps, maybe you could call Inamed and they could tell you. Good Luck

No major surgery here, it was done laparoscopic
  4. "Or what a momma bird regurgatates to her babies." GREAT WAY TO PUT IT!! NEVER HEARD IT EXPLAINED LIKE THIS, BUT THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS LIKE
  5. WTG!!! DOING A GREAT JOB:)
  6. Hello to both of you. I was also banded by Dr Spiegel:-) I am from Bridge City, work in Orange, grew up in Port Acres and graduated from Orangefield. Glad to meet ya'll:D
  7. What a Bummer......I have done commercials for my dr. and he is supposed to be putting my before and after pics on his website. When it is up I will post the link on here...maybe...depending on what is looks like:D I have never heard of sour apple vodka. I like to have a drink every once in a while when we go out to eat. But, here lately if I eat I can't drink and if I drink I can't eat. Can't do both..gues that's a good thing. I thought after I got off my weekly cycle I would maybe have dropped a pound, but no such luck. Still 180; in 2 weeks from today if the scale hasn't moved, I am gonna consider a fill. Last time I said that I had lost 5 lbs by the 2 week mark....We will see...Glad to hear you had a great time.
  8. DELARLA--- HOW WAS YOUR TRIP? HOW IS THE LOW FAT DIET GOING? HOPE ALL IS WELL.......
  9. My husband starting singing "on the scale again, just can't wait to get on the scale again" this morning when I got it to weigh. Every morning after I brush my teeth I get on the stupid thing. But, since it didn't move this A.M. I decided the darn thing is going in my son's room in his closet. Or maybe in the trash:-)
  10. WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE COME TAKE MY SCALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Good Lo-Cal luck!!!!! I will be thinking of you as I drink my water...It is getting better now. I am able to eat a little...Be careful and don't drive faster then your guardian angel can fly... but as always, dance as if no one is watching!!!!!!!
  12. It is my time of the month and I always get really tight about this time each month. My last fill was Jan 9th, and I don't think I will ever get another one. You sound like a very fun person to be around!!!!!! I am hoping when I weigh this weekend that I will be 3-4 lbs lighter.....crossing my fingers and saying a prayer:D

I had my surgery in August and have had 2 fills 1 unfill and then 1 fill again. But, my friend that had the surgery the day after me had a fill and then had to have the whole thing taken out. Her band is empty and her food still gets stuck. So there is that 1 in a million chance that you may not need a fill.
  14. I am sitting in my office at work laughing out loud. I know my co-workers think I am crazy...they already thought that anyway:-) Good Luck on your one week diet. You can do it! I had 7 days of liquids before my surgery...that was not fun. My BMI was 36.8. It is now 28.2!!! These last 30 lbs are gonna be like waiting for Christmas... Take care and eat something low fat for me. Liquids is the only thing going down for me at this time:(
  15. Hi Joyce!! I was banded by the same Dr that is doing your banding as was my sister and we both had staples. No pain at all when they took them out, more like a relief!
  16. I can totally sympathize with you!!!!!!!!! I bite of ice cream and ouch.....I was doing OK for a while and now it is my time of the month and I am totally not being able to eat a bite without it getting stuck. I still try and take a bite, but it comes right back up. I know that is not good, so I decided tonight that it is liquids for me until the end of the week. I hope yours gets better. Take care:cool:
  17. I just want to tell you to hang in there! I had my first child in June of 2002 and in Oct of 2002 my husband was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He went through surgery and 30 rounds of radiation and is now doing wonderful. We have been married for 9 years, together for 12 years, and I, like you, don't know what I would do without him. But, there is a reason for everything, I know that is hard to believe, but there is. You hang in there and be there for him. He will need you and you will need him. Take care of yourself and like Alexandra said, the band will still be there when all this is through and you can concentrate on your weight loss, but right now there are other things that need your attention. Hang in there and you and your husband are in my prayers.
  18. Welcome to Lapbandtalk.com, where we have never seen you, but, you are now part of a wonderful family and support group. Nice to have you around.
  19. Thanks Ya'll!!! I knew I could count on my other family to help me.
  20. Friday night for supper I ate more than what I should have. Saturday and today I have super restriction. Liquids even hurt. I tried to have a snow-cone yesterday and 1 bite and it would not go down and Boy it hurt. Just wondering if Friday night I possibly irritated my stomach and now it is swollen? I am gonna do just liquids, as much as I can, for a couple of days and see if things get better. Just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else before. Thanks
  21. Congratulations to you!!!!! Keep up the good work!! Just out of curiousity what does ihvbzs mean or stand for?
  22. Maybe you could get your husband or other family member to watch the kids where you can get some time to yourself for therapy. You have to make time for yourself. You have to realize that you have to take care of you. Your kids needs you and if you don't take care of yourself who will take care of them? It seems like the stuff that is bad for you goes down alot easier than the healthy foods. Don't know why, but it is true. Have you discussed any of this with your doctor? How long have you had the surgery? Does your husband know that you want to seek a therapist? Take time for yourself...you need it!!!!
  23. Just wondering if anyone else out there that was banded by Dr Spiegel was called to do the commercial for him tomorrow?
