  1. I had the same issue when I reheated some grilled shrimp. I was uncomfortable for hours after that. However, I did reheat some shredded beef that had been sitting in a lot of gravy, and it reheated very moist.
  2. I have the same struggle Debbie. Mornings are just hard for me in general.. I oversleep a lot.. so now I need even MORE time in the mornings so I make sure to have breakfast. I'm still working on it. I find greek yogurt (14g protein) to be the easiest thing. I did buy some Kashi Go Lean cereal to try (13g Protein, not including the skim milk). Yes, my hunger has decreased since my fill IF I make sure to space my meals out correctly... which i didn't do well with this weekend. again, this is something I'm working on. But when I do really good with that, hunger is no longer as much of an issue. 3 meals a day plus one snack works for me. We'll see how my next fill changes things! As for fiber , I think I could be doing better. I bought flax seed but haven't tried it yet. I do have healthy carbs every single day. Breakfast - 6oz yogurt lunch - 4oz turkey, 2oz mashed potato/veggie Snack - 8oz milk dinner - wheat pita w/ 2oz hot italian sausage, and tomato sauce Snack - 8oz milk I think that i need to be eating more to be honest.
  3. its so fun! If you feel self conscious right now you can try a DVD first. But it's pretty easy, and an exercise that's accepting of all body types. I have tried hip hop classes and find that tougher.
  4. Debbie, no skipping breakfast! Lol. Did you have trouble with the egg rolls? What kind of chicken? I am asking cuz I haven't had Chinese food since surgery and don't know what's safe and what's not now. Breakfast - 6oz peach Greek yogurt lunch - lean cuisine (1/2cup chicken makhani, 1tbsp rice), 1 watermelon wedge snack - 8oz skim milk dinner - 3oz grilled chicken breast, a few tomato slices, and garlic hummus wrapped in a mini whole wheat pita, 1 strawberry Snack - 8oz skim milk Resisted all the food at a BBQ today but boy it was hard. I wanted a hot dog in a bun and chips
  5. I went to the driving range 6 weeks after surgery. I had no issues.
  6. I ended up at the ER three weeks after my surgery due to that issue. Hadnt gone in over a week, and when I tried to nothing came out. I was screaming and nearly blacked out from the pain. You may need to go to urgent care so they can give you a suppository or enema. Not pleasant but a couple of those broke up the impacted stools enough where I could pass the majority at home a couple days later (with the help of miralax, prune juice and stool softener). They told me i needed to up water intake and take miralax if i dont go every 2 days. I have also bought flax seed and started having some (healthy) carbs for fiber. Been good since then. Not trying to freak you out but some additional help may be needed.
  7. I don't know anyone that got fat from eating too much fruit. So I have it when I want it, I just measure it out. Usually not more than 1/4cup. I am about 7 weeks out and eat kiwis, bananas, mangos, and berries. Haven't tried anything with skin yet.
  8. Its easy to get caught up in a number. I'm guilty of the same thing. Focus on exercise, food choices, how your clothes are fitting. Maybe you don't need to have a scale in your house at all? Your doctor will weigh you at fill appointments.
  9. My mom did the same thing. I think 3 days is good.
  10. I am doing well too. Just trying to adjust to my new normal, and not slip into my old ways. I am getting back into an exercise routine finally. I agree... I'd rather be under filled than too tight. I only have 1cc but I notice if I space my meals out right and have 1 healthy snack a day, hunger isn't as big of an issue anymore.
  11. Lazy?!? No way! I have had a trainer for about 7 months now. I have known her for a few years, and gave her a call as soon as I decided to get the band. I knew I needed help getting into a routine, and that extra motivation. She's been one of my biggest emotional supports.
  12. Belly dance, Zumba, and elliptical are my favorites right now. As far as sports, I like tennis and volleyball but have a hard time finding anyone to play with. Went to the driving range this week and that was fun. Surprisingly good work out for a big girl. lol!
  13. I've heard Interval Training is the best for burning fat. I haven't personally tried it, but a lot of people swear by it. If you're doing 30 minutes of cardio, why not go up to 45 minutes? Or break that 30 minutes up.. 10 on treadmill, 10 elliptical, 10 exercise bike? Make it fun and sign up for dance class, swimming, kickboxing, tennis lessons, etc. You've got to trick your body by using different muscles, switching it up and going higher intensity.
  14. Wow, you look amazing'
  15. Joe, you are an inspiration. I too have fought my weight "demons" for a long time and the hardest thing is to get back up after you fall. Be happy for every small victory, and every single lb lost. I have no doubt you will reach your goals!
  16. Hi Dollgirl! Great to have you. I was banded 5/8, already feeling healthier. No regrets.
  17. It really does help to have people who are going through the same struggles and successes. Welcome!
  18. Welcome! Happy to have you here. Im a big basketball and KD fan... Sad your OKC thunder didn't win it this year! Hopefully next year. Anyway wish you all the best on your journey.
  19. I've only lost 16 lbs since my surgery but I have lost 70lbs total since starting the process. Needless to say NOTHING fits. It seems like a good problem, but it's been kinda frustrating, and expensive. Any ideas?
  20. I have a chihuahua too! Now I know how he never clocks in over 7lbs. LOL
  21. The bariatrician I had at my very first appointment was the rudest woman I've ever met in my life. She basically told me I would fail because I was 22, said I "already thought I knew everything", and that I would need to "prove myself" to her. The ironic thing is... she was FAT!!! LOL. Do your research, weigh the options, and don't let that person's comments get to you.
  22. Didn't eat enough Protein today. Did good on exercise though. Breakfast - Mint tea lunch - 6oz chili, 2 crackers dinner - 6oz Greek yogurt, 2oz peach snack - 8oz milk Exercise - 20 min bike, 20 min treadmill (fast walk)
  23. You're going to be doing just as much work as people who do it the "natural way". you'll be working out regularly and eating healthy. The band will just be an extra tool in your back pocket. Maybe your husband is afraid once you will change or that he'll get left behind. Is there a way you could include him in this lifestyle change? Exercising together, cooking together, bringing him on the appointments so he gets more info? I hope he comes around and I applaud you for doing what's necessary for your health.
  24. Love this one. I think after I lose my weight I will get a new drivers license. I want a new photo... and for once, I won't lie about my weight on there. ha!
  25. Thats awesome. You described it perfectly! Honestly, I dreaded fills more than I dreaded the pain of surgery. I am terrified of needles but the fill didn't hurt. It definitely felt weird, and uncomfortable, but not painful. I could feel the fluid going into my band. I had to be on liquids for 2 days post fill, had a teeny bit of soreness at the port. Overall, no big deal. How big is your band Manda? I have 1cc in an 8cc band. She originally put 3cc in but took 2cc out because she said (after I sipped water) that I was too full. I am comfortable with my 1cc so far. No trouble getting things down but I am careful to eat slower and chew more. I stay full a little bit longer than before. I have lost 16lbs since my surgery and the doctor was thrilled with that.
