LMAO... I forgot to feed my daughter once 3 days post op. My sweet husband had assumed that I had our 5 y.o. meals planned out so when he got home and got her ready for bed, he thought that mommy had taken care of that without asking me. Thank God our lil one is very vocal because after he read her bedtime story she said, "You're really a baddy daddy! You are making your only daughter go to bed without food like I am in jail or something. That's not nice!" Needless to say, she got fed and that never happened again.

He doesn't sound very supportive and you are doing great! I was sleeved 4/20 and I lost 18 lbs, to date. My doctor told me not to get discouraged :-) You know you are doing great and you should be applauded. Tell your Doc to lay off the Hater-ade.

I was sleeved April 18th. So I had an appointment a week out and then today. Since surgery I'm down 26 pounds. Add that to preop, in 6 1/2 weeks I'm down 46 pounds. I am ecstatic. That almost 50 lbs off. He looked at me and was like "now you gotta start working on it. You need to workout and eat right. This is up to you. We want to make sure you get as much me your weight off in the first year. You gotta be accountable."
WTF?! I get up 2:30 am 5 days a week to work out do at least an hour before work. I walk my daughter in her stroller when I get home. I hadn't chewed anything in 7 weeks and only ate 3 times a day. What more can I do? Only good part is I'm allowed food now. Do you think I took it wrong? Gah... Sorry guys... Needed to vent.

So you know how sometimes the weight can't come off fast enough, and we tend to convince ourselves that 1,2 or 3 pounds a week isn't enought. Well today I went for a 10 mile bike ride, and let me tell you, I felt the difference. I'm down 50# from my highest weight, but wow the difference in my stamina and endurance is amazing. I just had to throw it out there get physical and if your mind won't let you see your physical changes your body sure does let you feel them. I love my sleeve.

Hit the gym tonight for cardio and did 10 minutes on the elliptical, which is HUGE for me. Jumped off the elliptical and did 20 on the bike. When I got done, I felt HIGH from all the endorphins. Almost better than sex!!! LOL

Although my weight loss has been slow in comparison to others on this forum, it has been steady and I can see the difference after a month out. I haven't felt deprived but I have been aware of what I put in my mouth and how long I chew. I do not feel as if I am on a diet but I do notice how many horrible food choices are out there. Many of us made bad food choices without even being aware of how bad they were. Most people at my job have no idea that I had WLS surgery and the ones that do have all told me,"You're not that big!" or "You're not big enough for that surgery." and my favorite, "You're just a little chubby and this is the easy way out." This is the not the easy way and has required a lot of focus and dedication. Yes, I have the tool of built-in restriction but I have never tested how full I can get. As far as I am concerned, I didn't go under the knife to how close I can dance the line between healthy eating and overeating. That being said, I am thankful for my sleeve and appreciate the awareness that this surgery has given me. Thank you for allowing me to vent.

I know I am not where I want to be yet, but I was so happy to see my friend, and also I was wearing a size medium top and size 12 jeans.

Just my opinion, but I think you need to eat fewer calories. Losing weight through exercise alone, without calorie restriction, is really difficult. Eating what you have been doesn't seem to be working for you. Also, I'd journal your food intake--calories add up fast, especially the small amounts that you might not realize you are eating. Plus, is there a place where you can have your body mass calculated? A BodPod or a dunk tank? That would give you a really good idea of your resting metabolism and how many calories you need to eat to maintain your weight (I'm guessing that it's 1200-1500!) In the meantime, maybe cut back on junk food or nutritionally empty calories for starters and go back to dense Protein first and green veg to fill up.

I'm 5.5 weeks out and have been bummed because I've been on a stall. Well, last night I bought a pair of pants to give me short term motivation and they already fit! Actually, they are a bit loose and I could probably get into one size smaller. I am so stoked and just can't believe it.
I've spent so many years trying on clothes only to have them not even fit on my body or be way too tight to wear. It felt so great to buy a size 4 sizes smaller than I have been wearing and have them slip right on.
Inspired! Just what a I needed!

FluffyBleu76 reacted to Artsy in Day 3 Post-Op
Hello all. Today is day 3 post op for me. Today I went shopping at Target to pick up a few things. Then did laundry and loaded the dishwasher. I walk a lot and sip a lot. I walk 4-5 times a day for 15 min each. Also use gasX a couple of times a day. My first day in the hospital was rough. My body does not handle surgeries very well. I had extreme pain & nausea. Walking helped tremendously. The nurses were wonderful. Gave me meds when I asked for them. I complained of chest pain--which I'm sure was gas but my doctor who is very thorough wanted an X-ray to make sure there was no leak. The best recovery has been at home! So glad I made this decision and can't wait for the weight to fall off. Wishing you all sweet dreams of thinner days.

So tonight I was taking a bath and I realized that I fit in the tub a whole lot better. My hips are not stuck up against the sides as much and the Water actually flows behind me. BUT more importantly, when I looked in the mirror afterwards, I could actually see my girl parts for the first time in 3 years. Lolol
