In my expirence it is your body's way of trying to lubricate the food out of your stomach, sometimes I sneeze or get a runny nose as well. I feel like this happens when you eat too much, too fast, or a texture doesn't agree with your sleeve, or don't chew well enough. This happended to me about 6 times total. It was awful!

OMG I did this recipe twice in one day because is was not enough for my family and friends I eat 1/2 of one was delicious thanks

That is great information. I will definitely make note for when the time comes - I probably have enough stomach skin for the third world (joking).

My friends , I am soo lucky, all know about my surgery and have chosen to support me and so when we go out for lunches, they share with me....
During dinners my 15 yr. old daughter is so compassionate toward this entire WLS situation she says "mom what would you like to share with me tonight?"
otherwize if I go with my husband and son, I order an omlet or a bowl of Soup.

I order whatever I choose, get a to-go box right away and eat what I can. I have no problem telling people about my surgery. The wait staff seems to understand more when I hardly eat anything they bring out. I have been to pizza, mexican, chinese, sushi, burgers etc and still lose weight, seems to work for me.

I'm so happy for you. The little NSV's are awesome, aren't they?
I had surgery the week before you and as far as weight lost and size lost we are fairly close, I'm down 42 lbs since 1/23. I love going through my clothes I saved ("because I won't be fat forever" is what I would tell myself). My 16's are getting loose and some 14's now fit.
I too feel amazing, energy and confidence is way up! Everyday, I LOVE my sleeve. There are days that I feel like I will 'pig out', but after a few bites, my sleeve tells me I am done. Thank you, sleeve.

We have a group of just women and they have become my biggest supporters....and I started this game a size 28W and now 2 months post op....am 22W and melting...noticeable difference!
Dont let what people might think stop you ...cuz in no time at all you will be down 60# and runnin circles around them...

For those knees and back pains..Water Arobics is the secret!....wow and after a couple of months and 57# down you'll feel more like walking because the knees and back dont mind it much!
I have taken perkecet for 4 yrs now for the pain in the back and knees...even had an MRI on the knees and many of cortizone shots....Since surgery I have not even taken one pill, after 57# my knees and back are partting as I lost 1/4 person... My legs and feet no longer fat little stubbs no kankles, in fact my kids say "mom your feet are skinny"

I had surgery on Monday feb 27 and was back to work the following Monday March 5th....I own and oporate an indirect verizon Wireless Office so yes Desk Job but up and down alot, and packing freight and boxes of phones all day 6 days a week.
I also started back to my Water arobics just 2 1/2 weeks after surgery...3 X a week....It is the best exercise with the lowest physical harm to the body because you are boyant in the water....

I say dump the alcohol and food and go back to the Sex....It burns alot of calories and is an enjoyable gratifing exercise. Then go back to eating small portions and make sure you get your Protein first...then your fruits and veggies. But stay away from the booze as was said earlier straight sugar and that causes weight gain like non other. Make sure you get your liquids in and start making your yougurt smoothies again, the boyfriend will love them and they are good for you both!

I'm a food addict. I'm 2 months out of surgery and I have eaten every food I ate before surgery with the exception of sodas. Surgery does not mean giving up your favorite foods. What it does mean is that high calorie, fat, and sugar foods are an occasional treat instead of an every day occurrence. In terms of eating more than allowed, your smaller stomach will stop you from doing that in a way you can't stop yourself today. One big adjustment I've made is eating out less. I find that really helps after surgery. Instead of eating out 7 meals a week, I now try to only eat out 2 meals a week. I have started craving healthier foods because my mind really wants to succeed. I have tough days too, with poor choices and lots of head hunger, but for the most part I'm doing ok. I've lost 60 lbs in 2 months. Good luck to you.

I went back to work at 1 week post opt. You just have to be careful with the incisions as they heal..I also went ot Mexico, Dr. Aceves...OMG he is awesome! I have had ZERO pain and ZERO complications....

Hey, so for what it's worth, surgery does NOT mean giving up food. I struggled with some of the same issues, and the pre op was really hard, but I am able to tolerate small quantities of liquid with meals, small amounts of club soda, etc. And I could even eat a mini-scone now and then, if I liked mini-scones. It is possible to do this as a lifestyle change, not as something where it puts foods on the "never again" list. It's just that a lot of things are now on the "occasionally, in tiny quantities" list, but the good thing is I only want/can fit tiny quantities.
Hang in there and ask lots of questions! This board is a great resource, and you'll find a variety of perspectives and experiences on all of these issues.

Yes, we can be.... just as women can be the feminine opposite. Not all are, however. I have my moments, but right at the time I just finished cleaning the kitchen after the dinner I fixed, putting away the groceries I bought today, and just now sitting down to relax with the 2 grandkids my wife and I have been raising for the past 8 years. My wife? Well, at the moment she's out of town in Maryland at a dog show and won't be back for a week, with my blessings and hopes that she has a wonderful time. BTW, I do all the shopping, all the cooking and more than most of the day to day errands and chores that need to be done. Can I be a jerk sometimes??? You bet! Could my wife have done better? You tell me. Now, I have to go and read up on posts that are relevant to VSG (or am I missing the relevant point of this one??? ) Jwelk, I'm sorry you're having a tough day and I hope every day isn't the same for you. If it is, you do have options. I hope things perk up for you.

Lol he was a jerk before surgery, hasnt changed after surgery. My dad never treated my mom the way my husband acts as time. I just want to punch him HARD!
