Post Op Pics
My surgery was on 02-13-12 so i'm gonna slowly be adding pics to this album as time passes and I lose more weight. My top weight was around 340lbs.

Pre op pics
These are a collection of pictures I found of me from the the past few years. These pictures were very difficult for me to round up since I rarely ever took a full body pic. I was so ashamed of my body looking at a full body pic of myself would disgust me. I was in between 300-340lbs in these pics.

So This Might Be Gross But...
Thank you for the tip, I'll have to try it

Comfort Me Please
I was so scared to but I never made it as far as "waking up." I was terrified of the actually surgery. And as strange as it sounds of being put under during the surgery. The pain was not as the gas for me. I was up and walking to the bathroom a few min, after I woke up. Plus you'll be getting some pretty awesome pain meds

Protein Shakes Making Me Sick
My nutritionist gave me a sample of these bad boys and I loved them especially the orange but i've been too busy to get back to her about ordering some, so I have no idea how much they are or where to get them from... Sunkist Protein 24g, super tiny and way better than any Isopure or protein shots, and especially those aweful shakes!

Protein Shakes Making Me Sick
I bought a huge pack of those they are kinda like Isopure to me but stronger. But at half the price you can't beat em!

Protein Shakes Making Me Sick
I hate the shakes too! And I've spent alot of money on them at GNC and now I can't even drink them, such a waste! The Isopure (which is also kinda pricey, for my poor nursing student budget) is OK but now that I can taste things so profoundly it kinda has a salty after taste that I can't stand. To make matters worse now that I'm almost 6 weeks in I can start eating more foods but chicken, fish and deli meats are now making me sick. I think I am just doomed to struggle with my protein intake. I have seen that Nectar stuff though and I think I might try it

Feeling Guilty
I feel your pain. This is hard physically, mentally and emotionally. The loss of food (my only addiction) has been so devestating to me. Now I feel obsessed with losing weight and making a real effort to steadily lose. It's been 6 weeks and I haven't hit a wall yet but if I did I'd probably flip out. I think all your doubts are completely normal. And we are all gonna slip up everyonce in a while. But you have to learn to forgive yourself and keep moving forward. As long as your making a conscious effort, I really don't think you can fail. I wanna tell you what I did the other day. I was with my family (who are constantly eating) and my brothers were eating potato chips. Without even thinking I picked one up and put it in my mouth. It was easily the best thing I've eaten in the last 2 months. The flavor was so intense, I ate those chips until I physically had to stop. I probably had about a handful. Well afterward I felt intense remorse. And I even wondered if it was possible I could have gained weight due to this "mini binge." But then I thought about it. So what if I had a handful of chips. Before this surgery I use to eat a family size bag in one day plus fast food about 3 times a day plus a trip to a buffet plus a huge home cooked meal with everything deep fried and slathered in butter...Catch my drift? Nobody is perfect and everybody slips every once in a while. You just need to pick back up where you left off and keep up the good work and the lbs will come off in no time! Good luck

So This Might Be Gross But...
Juice and juicers are both good ideas, although I was told to stay away from juices because of the possible added sugar. But it's the actual fruit I am craving. The freshness and natural sweetness is part of the cravings. And it's not that I don't want to eat it or I am afraid of gaining weight, which is why most people develop this habit into a full fledged eating disorder. I am going it for no other reason than I am only 6 weeks out of surgery and I am afraid my body won't digest it properly. I will talk to my nutritionist about this and possibly talk about it in my next vlog I appreciate everyone's input and suggestions

So This Might Be Gross But...
It's so weird that you mentioned the way you don't like the feel of the pulp in your mouth. Before this surgery I was NOT a picky eater. I would eat anything and try everything. But now post op textures are really starting to bother me. It's so strange.

Gallbladder Surgery
I just had my gallbladder removed on friday, I was starting to get pains. Had an ultrasound and they found sludge but no stones yet. We decided just to take it out, I figured there was no use in prolonging the inevitable. The bad part of the whole ordeal is I just had my surgery on feb 13th, so I was only 5 weeks out. Well it set me all the way back to a liquid diet and the pain is twice as bad. But I think its just because I had 2 surgeries in less than 2 months. Anyhow I don't have any real answers to your questions as I am still recovering. I just wanted to commiserate with you Good Luck!

So This Might Be Gross But...
Ya that show and there was also a girl on Intervention who would do that she actually was anorexic and had a feeding tube and everything. I am thinking about talking to the nutritionist but it's kinda embarrassing.
-
So This Might Be Gross But...
Because I don't actually want to eat the bulky parts. I wish their was a deeper reason.

So This Might Be Gross But...
Uh oh I actually figured this because I've seen it on a few different tv shows but I also heard that the vitamins come from the juice of the fruit and not the pulpy left over stuff so i was hoping i found a loophole.

So This Might Be Gross But...
This may be kinda gross and I do apologize for grossing anyone out. But I have developed this new eating habit and i'm not sure if it's healthy or not and I would appreciate some feedback. Ok so I have been craving citrusy type fruits intensely, but I am afraid my body won't take too kindly to digesting the hard pulpy stuff in the fruit. So I have been chewing up oranges and pineapples and then spitting then spitting them out. Its satisfying and I think I am still getting the vitamins from the juice I just don't want to put my digestive system through any unnecessary grief. Is this bad?

How To Deal With Thrist?
I experienced this right out of the hospital. When it was especially hard to drink. I remember I ate a lot of ice chips. I still get extremely thirsty and want to chug, sometimes I remember to late and end up with a belly ache from too much water at once

Poor Food Choice Ruined My Whole Day

Poor Food Choice Ruined My Whole Day
First I am so sorry that you're having a bad time. I love love love sushi, I am about five weeks out and and still too scared to try some. I have thought about asking them to do it without the rice but I just don't think it will be the same. How long has it been since your surgery? How much sushi did you eat and what kind? If you threw it all up I am concerned that you're still in pain, maybe you should contact your Doc... :-( I hope you feel better either way.

How Long Till You Took A Bath?
I took a shower the very first day out of the hospital but my Doc told me not to totally submerge my incisions in water for a week.

This Liquid Diet Is Killing Me....
I could not imagine being on a liquid diet for 8 months.
-
This Liquid Diet Is Killing Me....
I feel for you! The 2 week all liquid diet prior to surgery is HECK. Especially since there is nothing physically holding you back from eating. (trust me after surgery you'll be forcing liquids) All you have to rely on is your sheer will power. And I was always thinking "like HELLO if I had will power I wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. You just have to keep reminding yourself how important it is for the overall outcome of the surgery. I know food is tempting but if the surgeon feels like you weren't adhering to your diet he could cancel and postpone your surgery. My surgeon thought about it because I was suppose to lose 20lbs and I only lost 10lbs. Just remember the last thing you want is complications. YOU CAN DO IT! Keep up the good work...and congrats

Day 1 Of My Blended Diet!
Today is the first day of my blended/pureed/baby food diet. The more things I can add to my diet the more overwhelmed I become. I really want to be fully commited to a lifestyle change but change super hard for me. If anyone has any tip, advice or clever blended recipies. I would greatly appreciate it...ty
