How Long Till You Took A Bath?

How long did you wait to take a bath? I am 18 days out. My doc said to wait till the incisions "healed". what does healed mean? There is no bleeding in my incisions and the scab has fallen off of them but they still are redder than their surroundings. I miss my bathtub!

When you say bath, you mean laying soaking in your tub? Because I showered the very next day!

I mean soaking in the bathtub and enjoying it! I want to relax!

I think you are fine. My incisions healed very fast and my surgeon removed all SteriStrips at my one week postop appt. he also removed my drain at this appointment and told me the hole would close up within about two days and when that happened, it was fine to go in the pool or bath. He was right on and in two days my drain wound was completely scabbed over and I took a bath the next day. Since then, I have taken one almost every day - I love my hot baths too! I am a fast healer but at 11 days postop, I am pretty much completely back to normal and my incisions look like they are months old, not a week and a half.

Btw, I am a Kansas girl :) transplanted to Florida. Hope you are getting along well after surgery!

I took a shower the very first day out of the hospital but my Doc told me not to totally submerge my incisions in water for a week.

Omg so jealous. I am 7.5 weeks out and my larger incision is still with a scab. Ugh frustrating
