  1. I was 100 lbs lighter when I met my husband and he has loved me the same for the past 7 years. He was nervous about the surgery and really had me reconsider surgery for several years. He has been very supportive since the surgery and is trying to eat better himself. He has always been a normal weight.
  2. I do all the time and this past weekend my father in law kept doing it. He still doesn't quite understand that I'm not eating because i can't! He gave me a giant bowl of mashed potatoes!
  3. Close to 2 weeks. I was just too tired prior to that.
  4. Cottage cheese, any cheese really, canned chili if you like it some of them have 0 carbs and up to 25-30g of protein per serving, Subway tuna salad (it's a pureed consistency), really soft baked potatoes (Wendy's), yogurt, pudding, refried beans (I had some from a local Mexican restaurant that were delicious!) I couldnt handle the kind out of a can they were too thick and too nasty when watered down. Happy shopping!
  5. It sounds dark and grainy but it could just be the way it shows in my mind. It may be blood. I would just call the doc and run it by them for peace of mind.
  6. You look wonderful! Congrats!
  7. Man, I gained 10 or 11lbs from the time of my Jan approval to my March surgery. I don't recommend it but it happened.
  8. Part of the reason for the sugar free is to keep your carbs low. If you can find low carb food choices with real sugar let me know!! I am 15 days out and had a "real" glass of apple juice inadvertently and I was totally sick to my stomach from the sugar content, a whopping 30g of carbs!! Good luck.
  9. I an 2 weeks post op and had the terrible head hunger that some others mentioned. I even had a rant post about it. Couldn't believe it would get better but as the days go by it gets better.
  10. I see someone else mentioned that silk and protein is kinda high in sugar and carbs. I give that to my toddlers as a part of their breakfast because of the carb content. I am post op and try to keep my carbs below 50g and the silk and protein take up about 50% of that 50g. If you want a good breakfast option try the Atkins morning shakes they have 2g carbs and 10g protein. And once you get close to reapplying replace 1 or 2 meals completely with quality protein shakes. Good luck to you. Hope to slide over on the losers bench when you get here!
  11. Overnight. I had my surgery at 0845 one morning and the next day my surgeon came and checked my incisions and I went home. I'm wondering what makes one surgeon's process so different from the other. I didnt get any jp drains, leak tests, barium swallows, or urinary catheters. I wonder what the determining factors are in such things. I'm not saying one way is better by any means, just different I suppose.
  12. As a nurse practitioner I find this interesting too. It is going to be difficult to find and keep healthcare staff that fit this proposed criteria. One of the reasons that many nurses are overweight is due to the stress and unhealthy eating schedules that one has to endure as a staff nurse. The fact that many of the patients are 65 years old or older means nothing because half of the patients are at least overweight if not obese. All I can say is good luck to them.
  13. Mine was 12 midnight and my surgery was at 845am the next morning.
  14. I hope to be where you are in 2 months!! I'm 241 today started at 260 3 weeks ago. Sleeved 2 weeks ago. It's people like you who share their stories here that keep the rest of us motivated!
  15. Get it girl!!! You look good!

Thank you all for the support. It is so good knowing that there are people who understand this process. Your words are truly a blessing to me right now.
  17. I Am having an emotional breakdown. It's been 12 days since surgery and I was doing "ok". Well I'm not ok! I am an OVEREATER and I am angry, tired, and scared of being one. I've been overeating as long as I have been able to open the refrigerator door, since the first time I was made fun of as a kid and ever had my feelings hurt or ego bruised. Dammit I wanna eat!!!! But since I can't I just came here to rant and scream the things I wish I could say to my husband but that he wouldn't understand because he's always been thin or what I can't say to my mom or friends because they would think I'm crazy. I don't usually play the why me card, I usual try to pick myself up by saying "why not me". I know there are starving children, wars, famine, and people with problems greater than being fat, etc. But tonight just on this board in front of random strangers I'm asking why me?! I want to wake up and not be hungry, not head hungry, not stomach hungry, not emotionally hungry, just f-ing not hungry! Grrrrr! Ok, I feel slightly better and no I'm not crazy (at least I wasn't before I got sleeved, according to the psych eval) I just needed to vent.
  18. I had a tomato and gorgonzola soup earlier. That was pretty tasty! Hope you had something good.
  19. Would the liquid, canned chilli sauce be acceptable during this phase? It's vegetarian so no meat and it has no beans either.
  20. LoserMom, I know all to well about that. My sister told me that my weight goal was not going to be attractive because "you're not built to be that small"! Lol
  21. My mother in law said the same thing. I will be seeing them next weekend and I had surgery 10 days ago. She says, "oh you'll be so thin when we see you" lol yeah right!
