  1. Just want to wish you luck! It’s gotta be hard not having the support you need. I’m hoping your revision goes well. I’m having an endoscopic suturing revision for my sleeve that was done in 2012. I lost over 100 pounds and got pregnant a year out. I’ve gone up and down for the past 10 years but never back to my lowest and now I’m close to my high ?. Hoping for a reset.
  2. I came across your post and I was wondering how your weight loss is coming after having the ESGr? I am having it done in February and I want to have realistic expectations.
  3. Awesome! Thanks for the inspiration
  4. I agree and disagree with just about everything that has been posted in response to the OP. I would find a post WLS expert who could offer more insight into why you may still be this hungry at 5 weeks out. It may be physiologic or physical in nature meaning it could be not enough stomach out or hormonally. And boobyholes hormones do play a huge role in addictions of most forms including food addiction. The best treatment for most physical addictions is a combination of CBT therapy and finding external ways to counteract the cravings you have from your internal hormones being out of wack. I have a known/documented dopamine and dopamine receptor deficiency that has been a major driver for my food addiction. Unfortunately there is not much in the way of hormonal treatment that would help this so I can either still eat as a means to satisfy the hormone imbalance or try to find other ways to "treat" myself. For me the sleeve made it impossible to get the same amount of satisfaction through eating massive quantities so I am forced to find other things to get into besides food thought all day. I have a post somewhere a year back right after surgery where I wanted to shoot myself because I was so "hungry". I don't know that anything we post is going to be very helpful without the OP getting some further medical investigation to see if there are true physical or hormonal issues at the root of the problem. Good luck and keep us posted if you find something that works out.
  5. Thanks everyone. I saw my family doctor yesterday and she was very pleased with my progress. I'm a slower loser do I tend to get discouraged easily. I know I would never have lost 62 pounds this easily prior to surgery.
  6. CW 198.6 GW 195 It's been 2 weeks since I posted and I've only lost 0.2 pounds. I've gotta buckle down for the next week and try to lose 3.6 pounds. Gonna try to work out tonight and 2 more days this week. Here goes nothing!
  7. I actually had several experiences of what I would call dumping. The first time was after drinking my first cup of milk and the second time was recently after eating some extremely spicy chicken. I got flushed, hot/sweaty, and extremely nauseous with cramping and the meals went straight through me and came back out almost undigested. (*tmi).
  8. My doc has the lapband. He has had it for 10 years (I think) and has lost and kept off 50 lbs. so he's normal weight. As a matter of fact everyone in the office has either done medical or surgical weight loss.
  9. CW 198.8 GW 190 I'm down 3.2 lbs this week. Getting in my Water and Protein as we speak!
  10. The first number on my scale this morning was a 1, yay!!!! It has not been a 1 in five years so I'm super happy today! My weight loss hasn't been as quick as some others but I am so happy with the progress I have made. I love my sleeve! I weighed 260lbs 1 week before my surgery, 251 on the day of surgery, and 199 today. My weight loss slowed after the 2nd month, I now lose about 8 pounds a month (which I will gladly take!!!) I did have a ton of hairloss but it has stopped or at least slowed greatly. I do take my Vitamins everyday along with Biotin and Iron. I feel like my weight loss is coming off differently than in the past when I've slimmed down before having kids. I am holding a ton of weight in my belly still. I don't really notice a ton of sagging skin but my eyes have more wrinkles from where my face has lost fat. Oh well! I try to get my fluids and Protein in, it's getting harder since I get more food than Protein drinks, but I try for at least one Protein Drink per day. I really like EAS myoplex, Adkins, and Slim Fast protein. I hate the juice protein drinks. I hope to lose another 60 pounds by next March. Good luck all!!! Happy losing!
  11. Thread keeps dropping off my iPhone for some reason.
  12. CW 202 GW 195 .8 lbs down I'm readjusting my goal. I hoped to be under 200 lbs by now but I'm still struggling mentally. But I won't give up!
  13. Be excited! I think I'm 20 lbs behind where I should be but I'm starting not to care about the numbers. Im still losing weight and feeling better each day. You look great! Congrats and enjoy that feeling!
  14. I am almost half way. I've got 2 pounds to go and then 60 more pounds until my ultimate goal. Good luck to you!!
  15. CW 202.8 GW 185 1.6 lbs down this week. I went to a birthday party yesterday and did a lot of sabotaging. I am striking to have a better week. I have been getting in most of my protein and all of my water so I want to keep that up.
  16. I hate that you had a rough go with your band. I definitely can understand you wanting to get back down to 115, I would too!! That's also scary about the chemo exposure. My first job out of nursing school was as a chemo nurse and I was always terrified of an exposure situation.
  17. I didn't have any acid problems before introducing solids. For many the stomach makes more acid the more solid foods you consume. I just take an OTC prevacid that works well for me at 4 months out.
  18. Awesome job! I'm trying to get where you are!
  19. I qualified for short term disability but not FMLA at my job. I was nervous about that too but ending up going back to work 7 days after surgery and felt ok. I was able to get through the work day but was exhausted by the time I went to bed. Good luck!
  20. I said I was gonna stop coming back to this thread, but it's like a train wreck! Someone did take down the guy's post with the cursing. I agree that it's hard to tell someone's tone from a post but some folks make themselves loud, clear, and ignorant! I also agree that WE ALL need to get over OURSELVES and get back to losing weight and feeling fabulous. The only thing that's worse than Facebook beefin is VST beefin!
  21. Usually they check for things like thyroid function, electrolytes, vitamin deficiencies. It just depends on the doctor.
  22. I lost weight on the 6 month diet the first 4 months and then spent the last two months gaining most of it back prior to being approved by Anthem BCBS. Keep hope alive!
