One Week Out Today
Also, you will retain water when you are dehydrated. You have to drink more to lose more... so don't get discouraged! You're just in the healing and adjusting phase..... you're gonna do great!

Stopping Bc Pills For Surgery
Thank you Shoelover! That's kind of what I was planning. I would be due to start a new pack next weekend, with surgery 2.5 weeks later. So I figure I just won't start a new pack! I also figure my cycles are gonna be pretty crazy for a few months anyway! Did you see this?

Stopping Bc Pills For Surgery
Thank you. Shad that doesn't help me because my surgeon told me to stop them to lessen my chance of blood clots. I'm 43 and not going to be getting pregnant.

Stopping Bc Pills For Surgery
My surgeon is having me stop my BC pills prior to surgery. Did anyone else do this? If so how did you do it? Just not start a new pack? Or stop mid cycle?

Wondering If You Can Do This On Your Own? I'm Convinced.....
I am very scared and worried, surgery scheduled for June 14. I too have lost and gained over and over. I admit it: I am hungry all of the time and overeat and am a quantity eater!!! I don't know that I would ever be able to do this on my own. I sooo appreciate your advice!

Things I Miss
You are approx 1 month out, right? I have been talking to two wonderful ladies, one sleeved here in the U.S. and one in Mexico, and they are both so positive and doing so well. They saw that first month as an adventure, and said to just get it in your mind that "this is not forever" and you WILL enjoy food again. One of them had a 1/4 of a burger and 2 french fries yesterday on a family outing, and the other still camps and enjoys wine and loves to cook. They just do it all in much smaller, healthier quantities now!! So that day is coming!! Also, at some point, our stomachs do hold approx 4-6 oz at a time, after all of the healing is done. So while you may not chug that entire bottle, you will eventually be able to take normal drinks of water. Spacing it out more is the key!! And believe me, I am NOT sleeved yet and these are the things I tell myself on a daily basis. Good luck!!!

Opinion Of Dr Almanza And His Facility In Tijuana
That's exactly what I am doing! I figure if my insurance won't cover me no matter where I have surgery, I might as well go to Mexico!!!

Opinion Of Dr Almanza And His Facility In Tijuana
Oh I gotcha!!! One of my questions for Dr Kelly was follow up care, too, including any potential complications. Insurance will NOT cover most off us so you have to be sure of your decision! I live in So Cal so Dr K considers me "local" and is gonna be there for me post op. That's awesome info! The most important thing is your comfort level! And that's awesome your coordinator has had the sleeve! What a great resource!
