Vitamin D Question

I was told before surgery that I was vitamin D deficient, like many of us are. I haven't been taking my supplement since surgery because I was thinking I'm getting it from my multi. Now I'm questioning this...I'm not getting enough, am I? Can I take the vitamin D liquid caplets, or do I need a different form?

I get my extra vitamin D through my Viactiv Calcium chew.

Good question... How much are we even supposed to take?

A few months before surgery my Vitamin D deficiency was found and treated with large doses of Vitamin D pills. After surgery, the doctor said I did not need to take my Vitamin D supplement and that we would see what my 6 month bloodwork results were and go from there. My multi-vitamin has some Vitamin D in it.

I take a vitamin D pill every day. Plus my multi and 2 viactiv every day.

My Vitamin D was low pre-op & used to take one 5000 IU gel cap every day. Post op I take a chewable multi-vitamin plus a chewable Vitamin D (again 5000 IU). Only 9 days out, so haven't had my Vitamin D levels checked. Hoping the chewables work vs. using the gel caps.

I also take a B12 vitamin daily & a calcium citrate chewable.

Before surgery vit d was really low. So that proved and I started taking vit d every day mow even though I get bit d in other forms.

Mine was low too and I just take a calcium chew 2 times a day with vitamin d. That should be enough.
