  1. Cristal you are right ahead of me - June 14!
  2. There are a few there now! And Cathy and I will be there June 14th. Cissie around the 11th... so you'll have lots of feedback! Others will join you. Omar is awesome - I swear I bug that man on a regular basis and he answers all of my questions with patience.
  3. Dr Kelly and Florence Hospital do. They type you as part of your pre op testing and have blood available for you if you need it. (this was one of my questions too)
  4. That is a personal choice. I'm telling very few people because I've learned that a lot of people view this very negatively. As for insurance, your plan may cover NOTHING, including complications, so you need to be aware and informed on that.
  5. I am so glad to read this thread. I am not sleeved yet but wondering how you guys do it, esp given the scenario of being turned off by food. When you say it takes 30 mins to eat 2 tbs of something, why is that? Is it because it hurts to swallow much at a time? Because your nauseous? Can you explain that better? Trying to learn what to expect.
  6. Hair loss is just part of it. You won't be able to stop it at this point, but it will eventually slow down! Everyone says it starts to grow back in a few months. Just make sure you're eating your protein and taking your supplements!!
  7. I am sooo thinking about you guys!!! You, Beauty, and there's another few too.... Seems we've all been on this journey together and I'm nervous for you all! And excited!!! Good luck everybody!!! I re-watched Slimmfast's first post op video this morning and it's very helpful!
  8. It's under one year surgiversary by Nichelle....
  9. I just wanted to point out to everyone - there is a newer post under the Success Stories thread about a patient of Dr. Kelly's from almost a year ago! I have been wanting to read more and more of the longer term success stories and I was so glad to find out she's a Dr. K patient! So for anybody who is nervous, read her thread! It's awesome!
  10. I'm so happy for you and also sooo happy I have chosen the same doctor!!! I am scheduled to see Dr Kelly on June 14th. Now I am really excited and know I made the right decision! Thank you!!!
  11. I am so glad to read this! I am having a hard time getting my mind past only liquids. I'm scheduled June 14 and am experiencing all the usual fears about never being able to eat again!!! So happy to see your post!
  12. That makes me very curious. Does anybody know if there are any methods that involve something other than stapling? Where are you having your surgery done?
  13. That is so awesome and you are gorgeous!!! How much weight did you lose???
  14. I will join you guys post op! 6 week away. I love the concept of paleo!
  15. OMG I am so excited for you guys!!! My sleeve sis and I are just under 6 weeks to surgery!!! I can't wait to hear about all of your experiences!!
  16. I took pre op pics, too, and we look similar except that you carry more in your gut and I carry more in my gut and thighs - I am not brave enough to post pics!!! LOL But I still hate those pics and I even took one where I was "lifting" the fat roll up off my panties. Arrgh!
  17. That's so funny, just this last weekend I got on the scale and I've been semi low carbing it for about a week or two, and I've lost a couple of pounds... made me feel good, you know? Then I got dressed and worse a nice pair of capris and a nice blouse, looked at myself in the mirror and was like MY GOD I want this weight off!!!! Yes I was just talking to a friend of mine, too, who was telling me the same things... she's tiny.. and I looked at her and told her that what she isn't taking into account is that she and I are the same height, she weighs about 120 lbs. I told her that I am HER size if I'm healthy and she just stared at me. People don't really grasp that 50 or 60 lbs really is REALLY overweight. I'm lucky in that I have this opportunity NOW instead of waiting until I get diabetes or high bp or whatever... right now I am somewhat pre-diabetic in that my fasting blood glucose is elevated. So I can sit back, keep this extra 50-60 lbs and WAIT till I get sick or try to do something about it now!! Fingers crossed that surgery goes off without a hitch and that I can lose this weight and enjoy my remaining "young" years being active and healthy, and not enter seniorhood as a fatty that's developing disease. Somebody on here said, "you ever seen a healthy, fat older person? Yeah, cause they don't exist." That stays with me!!!!
  18. That is funny, I felt the same way about Dr K's video! But then I have spoken with him and he is very sweet. That said, I don't think you can go wrong with Alvarez or Aceves either!!!! All great!
  19. Dr Alvarez was my second choice, because I wanted to have direct access to my surgeon post op. (I live in So CA) I would have to fly to see Dr A and I didn't want to do that. dr A is awesome! I face timed with him and he wasn't even my doctor. He really does believe in this procedure!
  20. If you go to the pre-op forum, there is a thread called Mexico Sleevers and there is info there on how to reach Dr K (I am on my phone or I would post it!) as well as reviews on other good doctors. Good luck!!!
