  1. I heard yes..but never back to original size. Plus in order for you to streatch it you'd have to continuously eat to the point of pain over and over
  2. First off, if you don't get on a habit of only weighing in once a week, you'll go crazy. Each persons weight loss is different based on their body. Me personally, I dropped 40 pounds in 3 weeks. But I also heard guys lose differently..so its hard to compare to another person
  3. on week 4 I was drinking 12 oz protein shakes in just a few mins
  4. Yup SF Jello can be had. I had it 3 hrs after surgery while in the hospital
  5. when you only put liquids in....only liquids come out. You can always do a shot of Milk of Magnesia to make sure the system isn't plugged up
  6. Guess I'll never hit onederland...for my height and build...220 is where I need to be
  7. oh ok...IV will keep the fluids goin then
  8. I thought onederland was when a person loses over 100 pounds? Am I wrong?
  9. Thats not a good idea. Right now fluids are very important, I wouldn't wait. You're suppose to be sipping either ice chips or water almost constantly the first few days out of surgery
  10. For this, I started a strength training program with a personal trainer at my local gym. Pre-op I was sailing max weights with no probs...then come 3 weeks after sleeved I was a winded weak dude. In my mind all I can do is keep pumping the weights and then I'll get it back with some tone
  11. ha I'm right here!! I'm posting at least once a day!!!
  12. I agree with Vance. Welcome to the site. This site along with youtube videos of people's progress helpped me make my decision to be sleeved on Jan 12th. Good luck!
  13. the excised portion of the stomach is put into a bag while in the abs and then pulled out one of the bigger incisions or through the belly button. There are videos of it on youtube
  14. your weight went up with swelling and scar tissue retaing fluids. Wait a week then check the weight. Its important now to NOT become obessive with weighing yourself often or you'll go crazy.
  15. oh my bad! gee I guess thats a tough one to get around the non meat and dairy issue
  16. for me post op, my sleeve loved strained broth from campbells chicken noodle soup. Has a lot more flavor than just swanson broth
  17. hmm I dunno why it would be 6 weeks...when you're able to return to the gym after 3 weeks? I'd say take it easy and don't too wild for a bit
  18. This is def not normal practice! There was no reason for that tube to still be in from the surgery by the time you woke up. Just and FYI...
  19. Also for me the cost was a factor. My insurance didn't cover any baratrics so I had to pay out of pocket. For me in Kentucky the Band and the Sleeve were the same price but the sleeve would be a one time cost proceedure whereas I'd have to pay for each band adjustment. All that info along with that sleeved patients lose 20-30% MORE weight than a band in a year. Also, 30-40% of all band patients fail and have revision surgery to the band. I'm pretty sure the sleeve is going to continue gaining momentum as a the perferred surgery other than a By-Pass. I foresee band placements greatly decressing over time...
  20. My understanding is that there are no long term data on the sleeve since its only been used alone for WLS for around 6 years. Now I also was told this used to be the first state of a Gastric By Pass in people so add that in and its been around for a real long time. As someone suggested, you can get the stats of your specific surgeon. Mine had only had 2 leaks out of 6000 surgeries so I was confortable with that. Besides, if you do have a leak they fix it with a scope down the throat and don't recut you open. As with any surgery there is risk and you can see from the many people on this fourm, we took the plunge and haven't looked back.
  21. I love my liquid B12...after I take a "hit" of that stuff I"m off zoomin. I use it twice sometimes in day especially before going to the gym. Keeps me zoomin!
  22. THANK YOU ..I didn't know what an NSV was and had been wondering for weeks!! Anyways..that happened to me also. I tried on a size 40 waist pair of jeans today!! I hadn't been a 40 since GRADE SCHOOL...went from a size 46 to a 40 in 4 weeks isn't too shabby!
  23. Mudder was the case that they gave me...
  24. -40% of all banded people cheat and move over to the sleeve. - My brother had the band and cheated on it - I didn't want to have a piece of plastic in me forever - You have to keep going for adjustments - and as a self pay person the sleeve cost me the same as a band but has 20% more weight loss in a year than a band..
  25. just truck on through brother...after 24 hrs the game is on
