  1. I will pray for u...and pray for me too. I am waiting on approval right now and my hubby was hospitalized. No news on when he will get out so surgery may have to be put off. Not sure yet.
  2. I hate when people do that. When you don't have an answer you could simply call and say just that. I don't have an answer...she is hiding the fact that she messed up.
  3. I found out I don't have to have one!!!
  4. This is good to know. I have 4 kids that will need to be driven to and from school and my hubby can only take off work for so long.
  5. I was told that the ins comp concentrates more on whether you gain weight during the 6 mths and whether you consistently go to all your appts...
  6. It definitely has lots to do with the employer cause I have BCBS IL and don't have to do the 6 mth diet...every employer is different as well as the ins company...
  7. Mine will be in for a week post op...
  8. The only costs I incurred that didn't come off my deductible were the nutritonists appointments...because my ins doesn't cover a nutritionist. And that's the only reason. Maybe your ins doesn't cover those things??? I would certainly call and find out before u pay for anything else.
  9. I have BCBS IL...I didn't have to do the 6 mth diet...submittal to ins happens tomorrow..and I was told by the ins comp that they cover it as long as I meet their certain requirements. You might want to see if your employer opted out...I have heard that happens a lot...
  10. Mine will have to stay in for a whole week!!! I do not like foreign objects lurking about sticking outta me so that part makes me wanna cringe but its gonna be soooo worth it so I am gonna suck it up and do what I gotta do to get through it!!
  11. I will be submitted this coming week and hope to get a date in May!!! So excited!!
  12. My Mother n Law had the bypass 7 years ago or so...she is slowly gaining weight back. Up to a 1X as of Christmas...and I believe its exactly as the other post said. When I told her I was getting sleeved she said she wished she had that option back when she was going thru the process..
  13. I am not far from Houston...in Beaumont...I don't have a date yet but hoping for mid May...
  14. That's crazy...and I am sure they caught it in time to fix the issue so you can still have surgery!!
  15. That's awesome to hear!! Glad you are better and losing weight!!
  16. I have "The Idiots Guide to Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery"...it has tons of info that we need to know to understand our surgery and how to make it successful and over 100 recipes in the back...
  17. I had mine removed years ago after having a baby, I lost 50 lbs while I was breastfeeding in rapid fashion. I had some outside stress going on and was finding it hard to eat due to some depression. One side effect I haven't been thrilled with is loose stools or IBS...coffee and drinking any alcohol makes it worse. But I would imagine once I am having to do a high protein diet that will get better. Also not eating as much will slow it down I am sure. When I started having the gall bladder attacks before I knew I had stones, I freaked out cause the pain is terrible. I would rather have more babies with no anesthetic then go thru that pain again....so get it taken out while u can!!!
  18. @chimera...one of the many things that scared me away from the band was 2 of my friends have it...one didn't lose near as much weight as she thought she would. She still looks big. And the other has gained 40 lbs back because she moved out of state and lost her ins and couldn't afford to get to the doc for her fills...sad stuff. I don't want those problems...
  19. I sure am glad I read this...I have the problem of being too open and giving too much away. I will be saying as little as possible and answering with yes or no responses as much as I can tomorrow!!! Lol
  20. What you are feeling is normal. Its a detox...really. get LOTS of rest. I haven't had surgery yet. But my first meeting with the NUT she advised me to stop drinking my calories like, juices and sodas and sweet tea. And also gave me a few more things to accomplish. So even though I am not on the pre-op diet yet, my eating habits have changed considerably. She wants me to get my BMI below 45 so that I only have to do the pre-op diet for one week versus 2. I have been at it for 10 days and already met and exceeded goal. That being said, I felt like crap the first few days....same symptoms you described only on a smaller scale and she warned me this would happen. And she says its times 10 when you are on the pre -op diet but its normal. Your body is adjusting and detoxing....rest and hydrate....rest and hydrate....good luck!!
  21. When I had gall bladder surgery I cried from the time they put the IV in to the time they had me in the surgery room telling me to count backwards because I was so scared. I was supposed to count backwards from 10 to 1...all I remember is 10...then the nurse waking me up...so I think this time will be easier for me knowing what happens. What u are going thru is natural. But everything WILL be ok...it really will.
  22. I bought vanilla and mixed berry. I blended the mixed berry one with ice and stevia and fresh raspberries...man oh man it was good. And, if ur a coffee drinker, I have mixed the vanilla one withmy coffee and added stevia instead of creamer and calories that aren't needed and it was awesome as well.
  23. I second everything that was said...and, I can't wait to buy something sexy to wear for my husband. He is my rock. And has loved me and called me beautiful regardless of what size I was...he is my hero. I also can't wait to look great in our family photos. We haven't ever done any with all of us. Because of my weight gain I didn't want to be in them. So much to look forward to!
  24. I drink the GNC Lean 25 shakes and they are awesome!
