  1. Good luck! I start my pre op diet on Wednesday...I'm a little nervous but I know I can do it!
  2. The packet from my nutritionist says 70 grams of protein.
  3. I didn't have to take a test. I did however have to have two sessions with the Psychologist. She just asked me about my life and my weight issues. It was a breeze!
  4. I start 7/18, I just picked up my Optifast today. I'm going to do 3 shakes, 2 bars and 1 soup a day. The nutritionist also said I could have sugar free jello, popsicles and crystal light. I'm scheduled to be banded 8/1. Good luck!
  5. Welcome! I had to do an insurance required 6 month supervised diet. At times it felt like a lifetime away but now I can hardly believe that it's right around the corner! It did give me a lot of time to do my research and to make sure the band was right for me. It will fly by! Good luck!
  6. I just had my EAS Advantage shake this morning. French vanilla is my favorite. I'm not banded yet but I have been replacing Breakfast with it. It has 100 calories, 2.5 net carbs and 17g of Protein. I buy a pack of 4 from Walmart for $4.74 and I think they taste really good! I just noticed in small print on the carton that EAS stands for energy, athletics, strength.
  7. My doctor normally gives 2 weeks, I extended mine a little, I'm going to be off Aug 1st - 20th
  8. Tomorrow I go pick up my Optifast from the nutritionist and next Wednesday I start my pre op diet. When I started this journey 6 months ago it seemed like a lifetime away! Our month is fastly approaching!
  9. Good luck! I am scheduled shortly after you, August 1st!
  10. I start my pre op next Wednesday and at my last appointment with my surgeon I noticed that when he explained the pre op diet to me he used the words "Do your best". I totally picked up on these key words! Good luck!
  11. How do you know how much Biotin to take? I've noticed it in 1000, 5000 and 7500mcg?
  12. I added it to mine too! Thanks!
  13. I'm across the border in CT but only about 15 miles from Springfield.
  14. I'm being banded August 1st!
  15. I notified my employer last month as we are required to give 30 days notice for a foreseeable absence but I knew my surgery date. My absence is covered by sick time and I had to fill out FMLA paperwork. I am going to be out Aug 1st - 20th. Maybe you could give them a heads up so it doesn't seem so last minute. They will at least have it on their radar until you give them a confirmed date.
  16. I have done pretty well on my insurance required 6 month diet but my pre op diet starts July 18th and I have decided I want fish and chips
  17. Yay! Congrats! My insurance approved Tuesday and I am scheduled for August 1st! Glad you hung in there!
  18. Definitely a lot of work! Six months in the making....
  19. It's hard for me at times too, especially since I have such a large family (Husband + 4 kids). They're eating things all the time that I would love to have but I have developed some will power to "just say no". Think about how great you will look and feel in the end, that's true motivation!
  20. Just got the email from my surgeon's office...INSURANCE APPROVED!!
  21. Welcome! I'm going to be banded the day after you, August 1st!
  22. I'm doing two weeks Optifast and start July 18th. My birthday is August 17th and my Dr. usuallly puts his patients out of work for two weeks so I'm going to extend my time off a little, I will be off August 1st - 20th.
