  1. Just changed my calendar at work and I can't believe it has been a month already! Good luck everyone on your new journey, I can't wait to hear all the updates!
  2. My primary care doctor was skeptical too! I saw her two months after I started my 6 month insurance required supervised diet and told her how my goal is to get off of my blood pressure and cholesterol medication. She continued to tell me that it may not happen and not to count on it, blah blah blah. Well, when I saw her for my pre op visit in July she was singing a new song! By this time I had almost lost 30lbs and was becoming tired after taking my blood pressure pills. My blood pressure in her office that day was 102/70...the lowest in a long time. Anyways, she reduced my medication by half and started telling me how I can probably get off all of my medication by losing the weight. Hang in there! You'll show your Dr. that you can do it and turn them into a believer!
  3. I did ask my Surgeon before surgery if he was going to put anything in my band at the time of surgery and he said he was going to give me a "head start". He did put 3.6 cc's in my 10 cc band. So far, I have not eaten over 1/2 cup of food at a meal and I can go about 3 hours (sometimes longer) between meals. I am also averaging about 600 calories a day and that is up from last week when I returned to the gym. My calorie goal is 1000 and I'm sure the more I go to the gym the easier that will be. I have lost 15.5lbs since my surgery 8/1. If needed, my first fill is scheduled for 9/17.
  4. I too stayed overnight. The only thing I didn't like was the compression boots. I was definitely more comfortable at home!
  5. Not at all and I'm only 4 weeks post op.
  6. I asked my Dr. today, I am almost 4 weeks post op and he said abdominal exercises are okay. Looks like it just depends on your Dr and how you feel.
  7. Wow! That's awesome! I love success stories!
  8. I think everyone is different, my first few days were a little rough but by day 8-10, I felt much more like myself. Good luck, I'm sure you will feel better soon!
  9. Mine does the same thing! The other day, I had people in my office and I was like, OMG! I hope they can't hear it. I'm sure they did but no one said anything. Sometimes when it happens I am actually hungry but for the most part, I'm not, and I just drink some water.
  10. I'm the opposite, I really like them! Good luck!
  11. I just noticed that your only a week before me, but I can't start solids until week 7!
  12. Me too! I don't start solids until September 19th!
  13. Congrats! I know the feeling! I haven't been under 200lbs in 10 years! I was so happy I took a picture!
  14. That's great! I go to planet fitness too, since the beginning of the year, no complaints here! I'm just over 3 weeks post op and started back yesterday.
  15. I posted this under another thread topic but I thought I would check with my fellow August bandsters. I am 3 weeks post op and I am still struggling to get in my calories and protein. I log everything in my fitness pal and I am averaging about 550 calories and 50-60 grams of protein a day. How are those who were recently banded this month doing? My next appointment with my Surgeon is on the 27th and at my one week post op appointment he said he may consider a fill, but I'm wondering if I will even need it.
  16. I am 3 weeks post op and I am still struggling to get in my calories and protein. I log everything in my fitness pal and I am averaging about 550 calories and 50-60 grams of protein a day. Is this normal in the beginning? My next appointment with my Surgeon is on the 27th and at my one week post op appointment he said he may consider a fill, but I'm wondering if I will even need it.
  17. I think mine started coming off the second week too. I'm almost 3 weeks post op and all the glue is gone.
