  5. Yes, full liquids for 2 weeks.
  6. Update on my 8/1 surgery... I was really sore yesterday and so glad to come home from the hospital! I have to say today is the best day so far...took a shower, had some drinkable light yogurt and Unjury chicken soup. Tip...definitely stay on top of your pain medicine, walk, and use your heating pad!
  7. Yay! I'm having the same gas pains but I'm here in the hospital until tomorrow. My Dr. keeps his band patients overnight. Good luck...we did it!
  8. I'm banded!!! A little sore but overall I'm doing just fine

Now that I am 2 days away from surgery, I finally have decided to add some before pictures. I can't wait to see the after shots...To be continued.
  11. Great News! I will have to stay over night...I say things went really well, you were in and out of there! Good luck on your journey!
  12. The anxiety and nervousness is starting to set in! Ugh!
  13. Good luck! I'm being banded on Wednesday!
  14. Good luck and keep us posted! I'm getting banded on Wednesday!
  15. I'm an Office Manager, my Dr. usually gives the okay to return after 2 weeks. I'm taking almost 3, but that's just because I can.
  16. I am going to have to look for those popsicles! I haven't been able to find anything except for cherry, orange and grape. I know what you mean about having to feed the rest of the family. For me it is a little easier though as my kids are a little older and it has been "make your own dinner night" since I began my pre op diet. I do have to give it to my Husband though who has ate cream Soups for dinner ever since I started. I'm on Optifast and my last meal at night is Soup. He's such a sweetheart! Good luck on your journey, our day will be here before you know it!
  17. My surgeon said he numbs up the area before a fill too so hopefully they won't be too bad.
  18. Good luck! I'm scheduled to be banded next Wednesday...keep us updated on your progress.
  19. I'm on day 10...I wish mine could be less boring but I'm doing optifast and there isn't much room for improvement! I have found sugar free gum and candies very helpful though! Good Luck!
  20. I don't have United Healthcare but it doesn't hurt to call and at least make sure they received your information and ask them what their standard turn around time is for pre-authorizations. My insurance told me they had 14 days to decide and they came back with an approval on day 12. Good luck!
  21. Welcome and good luck! I'm scheduled to be banded in 6 days!
  22. I am 5'4" ,weigh 210 and my surgery is scheduled for 8/1. I too sometimes get the crazy looks when I say I am getting lap band surgery. I started this journey weighing 238 and I have several comorbidities. Already my blood pressure medicine has been reduced to 1/2. I can't wait to see what life after lap band brings!
