  1. welcome to our group and your journey has just began! Enjoy your shrinking self and you will adjust. Patience...
  2. Breakfast protien shake consist of the equate(walmart) psyllium fiber. Also flax seed oil. TBS spoon everyday. One bananna also in shake. Everyday...keeps me very regular.
  3. Give it some time.It sounds close to me. Sometimes it takes a while to adjust like a week or two...
  4. Lets see, when i started I was pre banded and walking with the weight of 286lbs@ 5.8 After the band ofcourse I had a month off. That jarring was a little much. Walk a 1/8 lap and jog a 1/8 lap. Thats how it started. I have never given up my jogging and never will. I do 6.6 mile now @209lbs. The effects on my knees I can feel. I have done this up to 3-4 times a week. I sometimes do only 4 miles a couple times a week. I have done a few marathons. Which I thought was the stuff. I was very proud of this. As I continue I sometimes get bored running. It comes and goes but never leaves for long. The stress release I have is worth it and ofcourse the calorie burn is neede to maintain my pitance of weekly weight loss now.. Shoes, stride, heart monitor, Ipod. All a must for me...Cold weather, no problem either. I prefer it.
  5. 1st of all I know you get hungry but I'd advise following the DOcs diet post op. The area is healing and needs to heal over so it doesnt move. As in slip any! I ate too much too early and i suspect many people have. Not Arbys though in 2 weeks. Soon you will be restricted and adjusted but the area needs to heal. I snuck some gravy and mashed potatoes and my wife told on me...They chewed me up one side the office to the other!!! tattle tales!! I was starvin over here!!LOL Hold it together a little longer.
  6. By my calculations I have 5cc in a 4cc band. It doesnt seem to bother the Doctors while they are adjusting. They simply watch the barium and pump the salline. So whats the deal. Go until its correct or stop and thats it. Any info on this??
  7. love it too and never a problem, in fact its the only time I ever drink carbonated soda...Sprites!
  8. I would wait a little longer before deflating. Sounds very close.
  9. Once you get restricted it wont be so easy to slip....Remember what you have started here and do your best. If we could have control we wouldnt need the BAND!..In time you will be to where you will not load up on food or maybe even remember to snack! Some people are like that.....Patience. I had 6 fills before I was right...

  11. you see after the band I now take a cup of ice cream with milk. Seem to this while watching TV and regular like...I have managed to stop the last couple weeks. I have high hopes but CSI MIAMI gets me most of the time....
  12. Good luck and good for you to take a stand for yourself. Life is too short. My divorce led me to the best life ever. If I hadnt made the move I'd be in a different world...
  13. AHHH The elusive 199!! What a great day that was huh! Congrats and many more to come...
  14. weekly at first. Im not weighing until Nov. 1st now and then January 1st after that unless I feel myself wasting away to nothingness!!! Not likely..LOL
  15. Thanks all and I dont care either as I have had a wonderful ride. I wouldnt trade it for anything. Great shape...Just wanted to hear what others were saying..I done the marathon too and i thought this aint the band but the band helped me. A tool not a magic bullet!
  16. I have done a protien shake Breakfast since being banded, 90% of the time. Im interested if anyone else does this and what is your magical concoction. whey Protien (seven star@ walmart) Total body liquid vitamin/mineral Green Tea extract Flax oil(TBL Spoon a day) Bannana always with BBerry, peach, or something like that. Fiber solution. Usually walmart Psyillium. This holds me for hours until lunch.
  17. I need an attourney there I can trust to deal with a matter? Any reccomendations?
  18. I mostly relied on diet and exercise. I tried Meridia pill for a few months. I dropped 40 lbs. I was very ill on this pill and seemed to feel my heart flutter a few times with elevated blood pressure. Not for me. The I seen the Phen-phen thing. Money grubbing drug companies with the FDA in the pocket hurting people. My ex had the band and lost her other fat self, walla I'm banded with my ins. companies blessing. Couple years later Im at my handsome self....There you go!:clap2:
  19. slips seem to be rare. We all get scared. Call the Doc. This thing is tough. I put mine through food hell. Still going!
  20. By the way the avatar is my 9 month old spoiled Granddaughter!
  21. A thread here to see how we all feel. I for one wished I'd never said a word. Now I never offer it up. Most people forget it until they see progress. The thing that gets me is this. Several folks see me jogging around town, you know co-workers and friends. Eating healthy and some I bump into at the gym. Now how they turn that into this, You have that band in you, right? No wonder you lose weight so easy. Easy? Never easy for me. I definately changed ny lifesstyle when I decided to have the band. To do over again, naw I'd of been out sick a week and said look, "Get with the program folks, just diet and exercise". Thats just me..
  22. My results are there but I work really hard. I mean hard for losses. Anyone else fighting the lbs long term like this? I'm sure there is. I am not beat as I have cranked it up a notch. If I dont make my New Year goal I will get a fill by the way... I'm gifted. I can eat very little and store so much. How lucky. My caveman ancestors must have had many miles to travel before they reached a Steak N Shake!
  23. First of all I have a very unique love story. I've known and loved my wife since I was 14 years old. Love at 1st site for me. It took her some time but I was patient..LOL Now you see I had grown up pretty much on my own, absent real parents and authoritive figures. This led to many problems as you may imagine. I was wild child and worse teenager. My wife however was in a loving, christian home. She married off to a Doctors son and began her life early and very stable. I was fighting the worlds temptations, Money, drugs, alchohol, women, and well you get the idea. We both married and divorced. All the while she knew I always loved her. Once we got together which i may add she said God had put us together as she had prayed for a true love. Guess what? I popped right up at the right time. My life changed. Its been nothing but success for us and me since then. Great life and career plus we are very happy 9 years running. She came to me well together. Perfect credit. Never missed an appt. always in church on Sunday. Helping people out. Well manored. Not to mention Beautiful Woman. I had a negative credit -600 FICO I'd say, hosted regular Poker games on Sundays. Enjoyed the nightlife you know. Never on time. Overweight and I doubt really a knockout kind of guy. But she knew I'd always loved her. I never made that a secret. My 1st wife never liked that too much either by the way. Now I'm very active and she is not. I go to the mtn camping and riding bikes. Running many miles a week. Lift weights. Always on the go. She stays home and is fine with it,Goes to College. We are great together but opposites in many ways. Together we are a very happy and successful couple.
