  1. I love potatoes but as a diabetic I can't eat them.. They are high in Carbs 36.6 grams of carbs and 2 grams of sugar, which isn't much sugar, but high carbs raise my blood sugars.. They also are 161 calories for 1 med potato which if you are counting calories, is high.. So I avoid them!! Bread and potatoes have always been my fav foods to eat but haven't had either one since january and with proper diet and excercise I have come off 2 diabetic meds, I'm only on 1 now and that's been lowered and hope to come off next month..
  2. funny, chicken is one of my fav go to meats.. Never have had a problem with it.. Just shows not all the same..
  3. Hi Everyone!! I haven't been on for awhile went on vacation for 3 weeks. I stuck with my diet the whole time, didn't cheat once, so proud of myself.. I have lost a total of 107.5 from my heaviest I've lost 93.5 since my surgery on 2/08/12 I lost 9 pounds while on vacation, that's a huge surprise to me.. The total not that I lost wt.. I only ate salads while awile, actually I lived off of wendy's berry almond chicken salad the small size with no dressing.. I also lived off of quizno's small harvest chicken salad.. We would go out to eat at other places and I would always order the basic salad with chicken and oil and vinegar dressing.. Or I would order salmon and broc.. I had a great time and just didn't focus on food. I went for 30 min walks every morning and sight seeing made me walk as well. Now, I am getting house in order now we are back and will get back to doing my normal diet and excercise.. I hope all are well!
  4. I work out 6 days a week an hour one day and an hour and half the next.
  5. P.S when my first referral expired my WLS center did the extension for me. but that's usually a 1 time deal..
  6. I have tricare prime and I pay $12.00 for my fills.. Your referral from surgery is good for 5 months, ( usually ) after that you usually go to your primary care dr. and have him do another referral and that's good for 5 months too. Tricare is really good on the referrals.. I haven't done an xray yet, but if the dr. orders one tricare will ok it.. Tests are usually never denied..
  7. I was banded on 2/08/12 and I have lost 72 pounds so far.. I've lost a totally of 86 from my heaviest... I have 2.5cc in my band..
  8. I was banded on 2/8/12. all test were fine then too
  9. I don't have hypo I have hyper. I just find the timing strange. But it is what it is and i must deal with it. Having a scan on tuesday
  10. Afraid not!! my endocrenologist has no idea.. I thought I would ask because maybe someone on here might have had the same thing happen.. But thanks!!
  11. I've been feeling and doing great since my surgery and had my bloodwork done for my annual check up, now my thyroid has come back off.. It's now showing that I have hyperthyroidism???? I was wondering if wt loss surgery could cause this?? I had my thryoid checked in March and all was fine, that was several weeks after my surgery. I had a complete panel done a few weeks ago and it showed thyoid being off.. I had them repeated last week and the dr. called and said they are still off... So I now have to have a scan of my thyroid.. It's just odd that all of a sudden it's showing something now after I've had all my other bloodworks being fine..( which I have had my blood drawn for yrs every 3 months and it always came back fine ) Any ideas???/

  13. I had to take a test with about 150 question, then once he found out I was from the U.K we discussed the NHS. Spent about an hour and not one question on my wt or any eating disorders...
  14. I live just outside Fredericksburg!!
  15. My dr. told me to take Centrum silver 1 per day and 1000mg of calicum citrate per day.. I've had to cut back on the calicum citrate because my labs show my calicum levels are a bit high, so I'm down to 750 mg per day..
