  1. i am the odd ball of the bunch...i weigh once a month at my check up... works for me and that is what i care about.
  2. also shows you that you can do anything you have a mind too proud of you
  3. if you think you can't (your right) so begin to think you CAN when was on my pre op, i was whining to my old man and he said something i will never forget and it got me through and woke me up. he said you wanted this (this surgery) so do what you have to do to make it happen. hope this helps. it will get easier although while you are on it, it seems like its forever but in fact its only for a short while.
  4. absolutely i add raisins to mine when i eat it very filling (it is to me) and that is what i go for so many variations and brands and tastes best to buy other than a boxed item but if you can only do that, better than a biscuit from mcdee's any day in my book
  5. hey cutie keep smiling handsome this is your YEAR see you soon
  6. you (or i will use me as an example as that is all i know) i measure my meals to a cup (Protein the most/veggie/fruit)..i stop at 20 min (even if i am not finished or still hungry)..i do eat very slow, wee bites.. i know for a fact i can or could eat all day if i nibbled here and there so from what my dr's told me and from what i have experienced, stop at 20 min. and from what i know, the more filling protein foods i eat, the longer between meals i can go and that is what lets me know my band is working.
  7. (remember to try and stop eating at 20 minutes) once the swelling goes down and the appetite returns, you will need to remember to stop bc eating slow is what we do but if we keep on eating we can eat alot...
  8. i will pm my friend jean *who wrote the bandwagon book* and ask her to comment on this as this has happened to her...i hope she will be able to respond soon as missy says and i strongly recommend, ALWAYS call your doctor if something is wrong...
  9. i dont get into the low carb/ high carb etc i understand what is good/healthy food vs bad food i also prefer to eat more filling foods that fill me up instead of just tasting good and pass quickly..i also am extremely aware that 3500 cals (carbs or not) is a pound and i need to not take in more than i can burn off...i let the band do its job while i do mine making excellent food choices.
  10. dont stress the ones who say things i know its easier said then done.. you listen to your dr and your body as that is what matters yes, i recall my first food after 4+ weeks of liquid.. could have peeled me off the ceiling
  11. when hub made me a double protein shake (that was for breakfast and lunch but didnt tell me) and the ole gal here downed the entire thing, i know too much at one time can make you feel ill......my dr said 70+ per day.......if i am over or under, i am good either way..........its right, def can clog you up
  12. my ole man says aim thaata way.........
  13. after reading this, one thing stood out to me and i know it to be true how do i know? because it happening to me right now “ Substantial weight loss can change the lives of people who are obese"
  14. my secret... hubby helped 2 days you crazy thing LOL rub a dub dub
  15. i showered the moment i got home faced away from shower (and kept incisions dry) bless your heart so new
  16. if you get the band or the bypass or the sleeve or the ds you will have to change what you eat, how much you eat and have a whole new mental attitude from dieting letting whichever tool help you. if you get the bypss or sleeve and overeat junk food, if you lost weight, you will gain it back......now the bypass people are wanting the band over bypass....why?? because its not a miracle cure all. you have to eat better food in smaller amounts....3500 is a pound whether its ate or drank. if you take in more cals than you burn off, you gain weight....i didnt eat lettuce and end up over 300 and needing wls.. so whichever you get follow the instructions as given its up to you if you are a success or not but do not think (as many do) its an easy way out and you will lose 100 pounds a week.. best of luck in whatever you decide. the forum has your back.
  17. sure if you want too, anything to help you understand food. but if you use the tool the dr gave you along with the instructions and eat good Protein filled foods in the allotted amounts, really no need to follow a (diet).....def can say you the $11 per month fee to use them (i tried them also once and they are great) but give the band a chance...
  18. i bet maddysgram would do it........ now that would be FUN
  19. do people really put their tongues on poles? is that for real? will it stick?
  20. How cold was it in Chicago? Let's put it this way: it was so cold that when firefighters fought the fire in a blazing abandoned warehouse, the Water froze while the building was still on fire!
  21. you need to brag, for sure i hope every person on a pre op diet reads your post you are way stronger than you realize....cheating is for cheaters...you are a hero in my book as its tough and its a mental game. you succeeded, YOU CAN do this if you WANT too and you do. so keep bragging
