  1. Really? Wow! Something else to look forward to!
  2. Wow! You guys are doing so great! I hope to do as well as you all! I was banded on 6/12, and am ready to get completely well so that I can get to exercising. Right now I can't even bend over to put on my tennis shoes!
  3. I just couldn't keep up the liquid diet after 3 days past surgery. I was extremely weak, and felt really sick. I started out with a scrambled egg (cooking spray - no oil) as well, and it helped a LOT. I've ate soft foods ever since then. Just remember to chew chew chew, and eat very slowly. And I wouldn't eat full foods, just soft. Good luck!
  4. I'm only 13 days post op, so I haven't had a fill yet. But I am so ready for this "Green Zone"! Congratulations you guys! You are all inspirations!
  5. I was starving on liquids too. I started reading through all of my booklets that I was given from day 1 until surgery day, and saw where I could have certain foods upon being discharged from the hospital. I was ecstatic! So since then (I was banded on 6/12) I have had eggs, baked chicken, soft cheese, and stuff like that. It doesn't take much to fill me up thank God. But I feel sooooo much better with a little fuel. And I have definitely remembered to chew, chew, chew and eat VERY slowly.
  6. I don't know if it makes it harder, I just know with my experience, that I have horrible nausea. But I don't know if it's due to the hernia repair or just the band surgery.
  7. I'm having a hard time getting in my shakes too...
  8. I had a hiatal hernia repair as well. My surgery was four days ago, on the 12th. I still have pain as well. Especially when I cough. The main problem I'm having, is nausea. I can't even lie down without extreme nausea. Are you having this problem?
  9. That is amazing! I must know your secrets! Please!!!!!! And btw.....you look AWESOME!!!!
  10. Well you are doing awesome! Congratulations on your success thus far, and good luck in the future. I'm sure you'll be a skinny minnie in no time!
  11. Five weeks post-op and you've lost 71 pounds!! That is AWESOME! Please tell me your secrets
  12. Thank you! You are doing so great. I hope that I can do as well as you. You are truly an inspiration!
  13. I'll be five days behind you! Good luck to you!!
  14. Can you give me some examples of what you eat on a daily basis? And what about exercise? I want to work hard and do right so that I get the absolute FULL benefit of the band.
  15. You have done so amazing! My surgery is 6 days from now, on June 12th. PLEASE tell me what you've been doing to have such awesome weight loss!
  16. I wish I had your willpower! chocolate is a major vice for me. But once I get banded, and know that I absolutely can NOT have it anymore, I'll be ok (this is what FINALLY made me quit smoking). I want this surgery more than anything, and once I get it, I won't screw it up for chocolate, fried foods, or even my beloved mexican cuisine.... But you guys keep up the great work! I wish you all the best!
  17. It sounds like you're doing great! I hope mine goes as smoothly as yours. Keep up the good work, and keep us posted on your journey. One thing though.....pureed tuna? Ugh... That just doesn't sound good at all...... Lol
  18. Did you say 66 weeks? Like over a year? I'm praying that you'll be ok! Keep us posted!
  19. Thank you bar2373. Prayers are always needed and welcomed! It's can be a lengthy process from the beginning to an actual surgery date, but I will pray for a speedy date for you as well.
  20. That's awesome bigenuff! You all are doing so great! I'm hoping and praying that I will do well also. My surgery is set for June 12th, and I am super excited. My doctor wants me to wait a month after surgery before exercising, but I'll at least walk. I know that the band isn't a miracle tool that will do all the work for you. But knowing that this time the eating right and exercising will work, is all I can ask for. I'm more than willing to put in the work and effort, I just pray that I get the results that you all are getting. Keep up the great work you guys! You are all truly an inspiration!
  21. You go girl! I'm a week behind you. My surgery date is June 12th, and I am so excited! So good luck! I wish you the best
  22. I feel the same way bar2373. I feel bad ALL the time. I have a pinched nerve which causes really bad back and shoulder pain, and I KNOW that my weight is only making it worse. In addition to the physical pain, I have emotional pain as well. I am so self-conscious about my weight and my looks that I really hate to leave my house. If I didn't have to work, I'd probably just become a hermit. The main thing I want from this surgery is FEEL better. Good luck to you and congrats on your approval. My surgery is scheduled for June 12th. I can't wait!
  23. I am so looking forward to that feeling! Congrats ladies!!
  24. I know exactly how you feel. I am 39 years old, 5ft 3in tall, and back in January I weighed in at 267 pounds. And I know I've gained more since then! I have been overweight my entire life. Although no where near as overweight as I am now. But thankfully, I will have my surgery on the 12th of June, and am very excited! Like you, I have tried every diet under the sun, and could kick myself for not doing better several years ago when I had the chance. Now I can't lose weight to save my life. I joke with everyone about how my fat loves me to much to leave. But inside, it's not a joke to me. I am very self-concious about my weight, and have even gotten to the point where I don't want to leave the house, and probably wouldn't if I didn't have to work. I wish you the very best with your weightloss journey, and congratulate you on your upcoming wedding.
  25. Good luck yo you all! My surgery day is June 12th! I'm like you lucky2beLaura, I am sooooo excited!!!!!
