  1. I was told liquids for the first 2-3 days. Jello, crystal light, broths, juice, water. Then the full liquid diet until 2 weeks post-op. V-8, thinned cream of wheat, milk, thinned oatmeal, strained soups...basically anthing that u could drink from a straw, but DON'T USE A STRAW. All docs ate different. I would say do what they say...lol. Good luck!
  2. March 1st bandsters (and those within a couple days) ADD ME ON FB so we can keep in touch! Sarah Preston in Blue Springs, MO. Same profile pic as this one.

  4. Ugh! That TOTALLY sucks! I decided to fo my first fill with the fluoro. I just wanna see everything and check it all out, especially since the local doc doing my fills is a different doc than doing the surgery.

  6. Wow! Surprised u can eat solids so soon. I am on liquids the first 2 weeks, and mushies the following 2. Seems like the Drs are all different. My pre-op diet is all protein, extremely low carb. I've heard of some on a 2 week liquid pre-op! Anyway, whatever works for u! Keep us posted, and good luck. I hope I'm feeling good enough to play the Wii at 7 days post-op!
  7. At first my hubby wasn't 100% on board either, but after much discussion I found out why. I guess he (wrongly) assumed that I would be strutting around the supermarket in booty shorts and a bikini top! Just bcuz u lose weight, doesn't mean it changes who u are. If ur partner loves u enough, they will have to realize (like mine did)....to me it isn't about looks, it's about health. I wanna be around a while for my family!
  8. I was told the NEWEST bands come in AP small and AP large. My doc decides which to use when he gets inside and can see the size of the stomach.
  9. Amazing results, and thank u for posting! I'm scheduled for surgery March 1st, and to honest, this morning I woke up to sooo many negative posts that I was feeling down in the dumps abt the whole thing. I LOVE to hear all sides, good and bad, as I know this journey is not all roses. I have learned so much here and these are the posts that keep me on track. So inspiring! Ur doing awesome!
  10. AMAZING LOSS! Best of luck, and enjoy ur mushies!
  11. Another good way to get protein is an unflavored protein powder. U can get it at GNC, and u can mix it into soups, chili, applesauce, Crystal Light, juice...abt anything! I like to put my water bottle of Crystal Light plus unflavored protein powder in the freezer for abt 2 hrs (shaking occasionally) to make a slushy. Yum!
  12. Doing well. Day 5 of my pre-op diet. I'm literally DYING without my carbs! I have lost 4 lbs since starting it tho. I spoke with Dr. Weaver last Mon, and Paula the nutritionist on Tues. I'm leaving a week from tomorrow, and guess who's ALREADY PACKED? Yeah, I'm THAT excited. Leaving for CO a week from tmrw. Already shopped for post-surgery needs, and now on the hunt for unflavored protein powder. Super de duper excited! Come on March 1st!
  13. <---is going to Sams also! I didn't like the Atkins shake at all, made me throw up in my mouth! TMI! Also, grab some Gas X dissolvable strips. I've heard they're a life saver after surgery with the gas pains.
  14. Where do u find the Slim Fast High Protein? I can't find them at Wal-Mart.
  15. Horray for all the March bandsters! I'm on day 4 of my pre-op diet and DYING without my beloved carbs. Today I decided to throw in a handful of nuts and a beef jerky stick just to change it up. I hope that's ok, but how many eggs, veggies, meats and cheeses can one person eat?......AND IT'S ONLY DAY 4! I just keep telling myself it'll all be worth it in the end!
  16. I am from Kansas City, MO....but I am being banded by Dr. Weaver in CO on March 1st. Who's ur doc?
  17. Popsicles, too! I'm going on a 9 hr drive, so I got the Flav-R-Ice ones in the plastic that u cut off the end to freeze in our hotel.
  18. Also, low-cal Gatorade and V-8. My surgeon said I could have that on day 4.
  19. Juice (apple or grape), chewable vitamins and chewable Calcium (Tums) if ur doc wants u to take those. Mine does. Good luck!
  20. <----is taking notes! Thanks...awesome feedback.
  21. Yay! We're bandster buddies! I'm scheduled for March 1st also. I started my pre-op diet today and attempted to drink a protein shake. DISGUSTING! My nutritionist says there's an unflavored powder that u can mix with applesauce or abt anything. I GOTTA find that! I'll keep in touch, so we can track each other's progress, and lend support. Congrats!
  22. I might be in trouble! I started my pre-op diet today, and had an Atkins vanilla protein shake. Well, I should say I "tried" to have one. I have a REALLY HUGE problem with artificial sweetners, and was literally gagging and trying to keep myself from throwing up. I know there are other brands, but my guess is that they're all equally as nasty! Mine must be 15-20g of protein, and under 175 cals. The nutritionist mentioned a no-flavor powder u can mix in with applesauce or other foods, but I can't remember it. Anyway, any ideas how I can get those 2 servings between meals?
  23. I TOTALLY feel ya on the "one shop in the mall" thing. Can't wait to get my buns in a cute pair of Gap jeans! Sounds like ur from the KC area? Blue Springs here, surgery March 1st. Btw, fun post!
  24. I just have to say, I love this site and the encouragement everyone's stories give me. I know it's not ALL roses, but it's much easer with a bunch of hands to hold! Thanks all!
