Stay motivated! It happens...and it is funny how even a pound or two can change your whole perspective...I experienced this for a month and a half...lost and gained between 2 and 10 lbs with no net loss...very frustrating...hang in there...it gets better...remember it's a journey....

So, I went to our city rec center today to play some racquetball with an old friend. I had to give it up several years ago because my knees suck and they just couldn't handle the quick starts and stops.
I had to renew my ID card. The gal asked me if I wanted to take a new picture and I said naw, I'm good with the one I have on my old ID. She said, "You should, you lost a lot of weight".
    WOO HOO! Gotta love it!

I am so excited!!!!!! I haven't been able to wear my engagement ring since I had my daughter 4 years ago. Yesterday I got my second fill and found I was down another 5 pounds and have officially dropped to below my pre-baby weight... So I decided to try it, and sure enough, it fits!!! While it was very tight at first this morning, my finger seems to have adapted around it and I can now twist it and slide it around on my finger just fine. It's not strangling me!!!
    I am so so happy!!!

Final weigh in and sadly I'm up 2. 175 for May. I sure hope the tiny fill I received on Thursday does something. I am getting so tired of this constant yo yo with the scale. Enough already. I've participated in three monthly challenges and so far have managed to gain 3 pounds.
So here's to June, may it bring better decisions and a greater end result for all participants.

I was banded 9 months ago today, and was at my all time high of 306 when I started my preop diet. I'm so happy to say that I'm finally in onderland - 199! No one is gonna burst my bubble today. I still have a long way to go - I'm proud to have come this far. And I've dine it with little to no restriction! Got a fill last night, and it seems like this one has finally made a difference for me. It's too soon to be sure, here's Hoping!

It is tomorrow, but some people have trouble following directions . The weigh-ins date's are all irrelevant anyway since they all get put on the table no matter when you weigh in. So if the weigh in is on Tuesday and you want to weigh in on Monday or any other day, go for it.

i can exercise for over an hour and still be alive
i say no to breads, candies, cakes, and donuts

I just watched the clip and it is all about 1-800 get thin. In fact in reading the article underneath it states
"Done right, the Lap-Band procedure is a safe technique."
I actually liked watching it. The doctors that run this clinic are playboys who have both lost their medical license, one has since gotten it back. I feel it really is just a warning to make sure you are dealing with a doctor/team that is concerned for your health, not just making the all mighty buck off of you!

I'm not required to see my surgeon monthly...I had a two week, a 2 month, a 4 month, a 6 month and then I believe a 12 month. I can go anytime for fills or any other concerns...I have not experienced any cramps after receiving a fill.

I've heard a few people note how often people post with issues but not nearly often enough about their success. Those people were right, and those of who are having success with the band need to post our stories. People need to see the good as much, if not more, than the bad.
Today, when I was driving my son to school, I realized my car seat position just wasn't working anymore. I smiled, because I remembered how just four short months ago my tummy was literally pressed against the steering wheel when I drove. Now, despite the fact I lowered the steering wheel (tilt steering) and I've moved my seat up- I still have at least 8 inches between my tummy and the steering wheel.
That got me thinking "wow that's a biggie NSV!" Then I realized I've had many, so, here's mine:
-Tummy no longer touches the steering wheel when I drive, with lots of room to spare and move.
-85 pounds ago, I could barely walk into a store from a handicapped spot let alone around the store itself. Aside from being obese, I also have Multiple Sclerosis, and the combination of the two made mobility VERY difficult and painful. Now, I stopped using my handicapped tag, and I can easily walk through the entire mall (repeatedly, with my kids lol). Losing weight has relieved so much stress from my legs muscles, it's even significantly helped my MS spasticity.
-I am chaperoning my son's field trip to the zoo next week because now I know I can handle that much walking. Before I was banded, I wouldn't have even made it to the zoo entrance let alone walking around the zoo all day with a bunch of 4th graders.
-My cane sits in my car trunk totally unused. I don't need it anymore.
-I have dropped over 4 clothing sizes.
-I saw my dad and nephew for the first time in a year recently. My dad was floored how good I look. My 11yr old nephew told my brother (who told me) "Dad you should see Aunt Mis, she looks so different and so good now".
I still have a long ways to go with my weight loss journey, but I know I'll get there.
These are my NSV stories, what's yours? Please share!
