nothing really new going on with me since my last post...prom went well for my kiddo and graduation is in june! my mom who has no idea that i have had surgery will be here may 30...i have started sending her pics to prepare her for my subtle changes and she has noticed my face slimming. i have described to her my exercise routine and high protein diet as an explanation for my weight loss...i'm planning on telling her in person when she arrives...:/ i did start the couch25k treadmill version this week:) and i am finally on the upside of this cold...i'm thinking about having another small fill in the beginning of may to kick it up a notch...thinking i'll definitely make an afternoon appointment as i am tight in the mornings and probably have not been maximizing my fill potential by having my fills done in the morning... finally i wanted to share with you all my husbands wonderful progress. he was banded on 3-13-12 and is down 45 pounds:) this includes the preop diet that he went on with me, but wasn't required for him! he is not a slave to the scale as i am, but he has been staying focused on his nsv's! yay him! the scale still rules my world:(
  2. i just started on Monday! I've been doing the treadmill version daily:) i hope to see some of the same results you are.

  5. i'm phatkatblue:) i added you all...
  6. i took off a month and i am a social worker! i think i could have went back in a week...it was a restful time getting to know my body and the band:)
  7. i feel like a two year old over here. i am whining and throwing a tantrum each time i get on the scale...i keep saying to myself "how could this be"? i put myself back on the pre-op diet on monday and still nothing...wth:/ i am at a loss...do i need another fill?
  8. i am in the same place...haven't lost in 2 weeks:? been back on the pre-op diet for 2 days and still nothing...increased exercise and switched it up nothing...feeling defeated:(
  9. welcome to the site and the possibly the new you:)
  10. oh happy day!
  11. i was what they termed a passive smoker...i smoked when i drank and i let them know this...they required that i be smoke free 90-120 pre-op...i'm not drinking anymore so i'm not smoking! a co-woker also had the band and is a smoker...she quit for the 90 days and is back to smoking and drinking...she seems to be doing ok...
  12. see you on the other side:) keep us posted...
  13. i also started this morning! my doc told me two weeks and i wear a cheapo neoprene belly burner when i exercise...it seems to hold everything in place!
  14. i was banded two months ago yesterday...my weight today is 211. weight loss has been much slower these past few weeks and i have been trying all the tricks to get moving...i have increased my exercise time from an hour to an hour and a half when i'm on the treadmill and i switch up my routine daily. some days i walk, some days i cycle, some days i mix it up with half walking and jogging. i have even tried the elliptical...it beat me badly. i have even altered what i eat and try to switch it up so my body doesn't get to comfy. i have had two fills so far the first being 2cc and the second being .75cc. i definitely feel like i have some restriction as i am not hungry between meals, but find that i can eat more than a cup and so usually eat 1.5 to 2 cups of food. i have found that my band is tightest in the morning, so i usually start my day with a cup of decaf or a some liquid. i am not usually hungry until after 12...i get pretty loose in the evenings and find that my head is full of hunger. i have found that the more solids that i introduce into my diet the more i want more good tasting things:/ there are times when i also feel that i am still trying to eat to a sensation of stuffed-ness. so when i eat a cup of food i really do feel satisfied, but old habits allow me to want to eat that 1/2 to cup more that i can still get down because i don't feel stuffed...i must say that i am still learning how to use this tool and it has not come with a fair amount of frustration when the scale doesn't move or when i feel deprived...today i started couch to 5k treadmill version and am hoping to get back into my weights which have been sitting idle for the past month...my goal weight for the end of April is 205...i am aiming for onderland by June:) until next week...
  15. I'm in YouTube! Need to update...I'm phatkatblue there too!

i think if you keep digging around this site and you will see that others have experienced this as well. it seems to be pretty normal. once the swelling from surgery goes down most don't have any restriction and some people do begin to gain as the band is not serving its purpose yet because you haven't had a fill. so during this phase most commonly referred to as bandster hell you are totally left to rely on good old fashioned will power to restrict your portions. the best you can do is make better choices so if you are eating more at least its more of the good stuff...if you have been cleared to exercise begin to move a bit if you are capable and this may at least help maintain all that you have lost so far. don't fret you will be ok and your band will begin to work wonders...this is just a part of the process for some:)
  19. it feels like I have a slight cold coming on mostly nasal congestion/running, postnasal drip, and a sore throat...could barely sleep last night due to this pesky phlegm in my throat that seems to be going down like its stuck...I've been feeling super tight all day and even warm beverages felt funny going down...anyone have any experience with this? I recently had a small fill .75cc on Monday and was feeling fine prior to this...SOS...
  20. i found them at giant eagle in a freezer at the end of the "ethnic" aisle
  21. Way to go! Happy one month:) you're doing great
  22. little shooting pains at port site...
  23. for the sweet tooth that lives on in me I've found sweet potato and vegetable pancakes (golden brand) yummy and only 70 cals!
  24. i'll be banded 2 months on sunday and so far i would have to say there are definitely good and bad days on this journey as with any journey...i haven't had to deal with being nauseous, but in the beginning i did worry about my band constantly. i think that will go away with time. i am down 30 pounds and still don't see it myself but i feel it my clothes and others see it...i can't wait to be able to see it myself. my obsession with worrying about my band has been replaced with constantly worrying about what to eat, how many calories i'm ingesting, and the dreaded scale which not only goes down, but goes up, and stays the same:/ i think you are doing great and your feelings are perfectly normal:)
