  1. My band also gets tight with stress, illness, and lack of sleep!
  2. I'm not required to see my surgeon monthly...I had a two week, a 2 month, a 4 month, a 6 month and then I believe a 12 month. I can go anytime for fills or any other concerns...I have not experienced any cramps after receiving a fill.
  3. Thanks so much for sharing your story...think I'm gonna call my doc as my band has been tight lately and I've been trying to hold off thinking it will get better...Thanx again
  4. Amazing! Congrats to you:)
  5. i experienced this tightness as well..it formed two weeks ago when i got a cold and seemed to linger...i am finally getting some relief...it began with very thick phlegm...it didn't hurt and i never had problems swallowing but it was annoying...also had two stuck episodes during this period as it seemed to get tighter at night...i increased my liquids...seems to be getting better...good luck...as far as how much fluid is in your band this number seems to be very subjective....there are many here who have posted they had 5 cc either added at surgery or shortly after...what size is your band...my husband got 4.5 on his first fill and his band is 14cc...he still has little restriction...i think it really is subjective...check with your doc if it persists...
  6. you are so right regarding the recent posting of positivity...i post my victories weekly in my blog:) here are a few of them... i can see my primary care doc every 6 months instead of twice a month to check my sugars because they are now in control i got rid of all the pre-surgery prescribed medications in my cabinet i can exercise for over an hour and still be alive i say no to breads, candies, cakes, and donuts i'm smaller size and weight (204 today and probably a size 18 down from a 24) i have more energy
  7. no probs with ground anything thus far!
  8. feeling some relief as of yesterday...keeping an eye in it though...it popped up suddenly after a cold and seemed to linger..i also had two back to back stuck episodes during this time and have been taking it easy the past few days with food...we shall see...
  9. wow! amazing! i see you have also had no fills! happy 100 and happy bandiversary!
  10. I'm 5"2.5 and my goal is 160!!! looking at you much taller folks (taller than me anyway!) it feels like i should reconsider, but i was happy at this weight before! my doc has set no weight goals for me...
  11. ours are 1.5 hours too...and yes you can leave early..i'd just sit in a place that is the least distracting since you are leaving early...
  12. bent over multiple times until it came up...not pretty but necessary...
  13. It seems there is no consistency to what our doctors want! Follow your own docs orders! I was cleared for step 2 foods (mushies) at discharge...
  14. Presurg I was on two oral meds with an A1C of 8.8 off all meds out of post op with an A1C of 6.6 a month after:)
  15. chew chew chew and then chew some more...take small bites and then chew...did i say chew chew chew chew!!!...avoid dry meats...i have recently been stuck on chicken breast and pot roast...
  16. i ate a lot of fish and chili in this stage..good luck...i'm almost three months out and chicken breast is off my menu..so is pot roast...got stuck on both of those!!! not a fun experience:/ it's a learning process...

  20. thank you..i'll try anything for a little relief...
  21. i've been feeling a tightness in my throat for about the past two weeks...it started when i got sick with a cold and was having trouble swallowing thick phlegm...i still have a bit of a cold but my throat feels tight and i am beginning to think it is not related to the cold...i have had two fills since being banded and cancelled my third due to this feeling...i have had three stuck episodes all totally my fault...but this tightness is irritating...no trouble breathing, but swallowing definitely feels weird and this is even when i'm not eating...my band used to be tight only in the mornings and now feels tight all day most days...again this just started about a week ago...anyone else experience this? am i too tight? dehydrated? something else going on? it kinda feels like a constant lump in my throat...not painful just annoying...
