Newly Banded and very emotional
Bsoutherngirl, I was banded the same day as you. I am having the very rumbly tummy too, but I think it's the gas from surgery. I'm not physically hungery but a little head hungery. I am also on clear liquids same as you. I find it helpful to walk when the feeling is getting to me. Try to stay strong and if it gets to be too much call your Dr or nutritionist they may suggest adding something like a protein shake. Best of luck.

home last night
Hi Dynamomini I didn't know the difference, but I was a little nervous, my surgeon did an excellent job and is highly recommended for his skill as a bariatric surgeon.

home last night
Hi All, just wanted to let everyone know I got home last night around midnight. Was banded @ Albany Medical Center by Dr.Singh on 3/14. I was his first patient to be done with a robot. Everything went well, I am quiet sore and the gas is awful but I expected it to be like this. So I'm now an official bandster :biggrin1:

Hey All, anyone out there have their band done with robotics? My Dr asked me at my pre-op visit yesterday if I would agree with having my band done with the use of robotics. Just courious if any one else has had it done. My Dr said the incisions would be smaller and recovery quicker with less discomfort. Well I due to be banded 3/14/07 I'll let yous know how it goes.

Anyone from NY
Hi Hairydo, I think if it was an indirect relationship I would go for it. They don't usually prep you for surgery the OR techs do. I think it depends on your opinion of them as a professional. I am an x-ray tech too glad to meet a fellow technician.

pre-surgery jitters
Hi all, did anyone else have the hungeries before surgery? I feel like I just want to eat all the time. I'm scheduled for surgery 3/14/07 and as it gets closer the hungerier I seem to be. I lost 23 lbs for this surgery and I'm so afraid of them canceling me if I gain before but the hungeries are getting the best of me. :help:

surviving the liquid stage
Hi all, I am due to be banded 3/14/07 and have to follow a clear liquid diet for sixteen days post op. I'm very apprehensive that I will be able to go that long on clear liquids. Any advise from someone who has been through it? Can I use protein powder(clear) during this time? I'm worried that I will be weak and sick.

New & Need Friends
Hi Madam Bomb. Welcome, I am 34 and having my banding done on 3/14/07 and I also had a six month process of supervised weight loss. Had to lose 10% prior to surgery that was 21 Lbs, and many other exams for clearance, but was approved in less than a week. Best of Luck.

Hi All, at the sake of sounding un-educated on the banding, I need to know some of the slang. What is PBing and sliming? Can someone please give me a run down of the typical slang used here. Thanks.
