Robotics??

Hey All, anyone out there have their band done with robotics? My Dr asked me at my pre-op visit yesterday if I would agree with having my band done with the use of robotics. Just courious if any one else has had it done. My Dr said the incisions would be smaller and recovery quicker with less discomfort. Well I due to be banded 3/14/07 I'll let yous know how it goes.

Robotics is the wave of the future and we're actually doing open heart surgery this way. Before agreeing to it, ask:

1. How long has the surgeon been doing it?

2. How many cases has he/she done?

3. Is it a longer operation (means more anesthesia time)?

4. Have there been any complications?

Good luck on your surgery!

I would ask if there would be a reduction in cost to you in addition to the excellent q's from Elisabethesews. How bout free?
