  1. Thank u for the info Jim!!!!! They both seem to be fairly similar:)
  2. Is there a difference between the Allergan and Realize brand of lapband? Rumor has is it takes less fills to get restriction w/ the allergen? I'm not sure which one I have, I will be sure to ask my Doctor tomorrow when I go for 1st fill!!!
  3. Wow honk! And that's out of pocket each time? How many fills have you had?
  4. Yes, I do... And I also think mine us expensive as well. My surgery was $10,000 and includes 1st fill only. Additional fills are $250. I'm hoping I won't need that many!!
  5. Mj, what foods are you eating when u say u eat " around the band?" just curious as a newby. BTW congrats on losing 100!! Excellent!!
  6. Yes... Very true. Always have your water!!
  7. I had 2 glasses of red wine exactly 2 weeks after my surgery.... Tasted like heaven. I had no problems:) have fun!!!
  8. Elcee, your responds are always very detailed.... Thank you for that. After how many fills would you say you felt the famous "restriction"?
  9. I hear a lot of talk about restriction,..... Can someone please explain to me exactly what it is? Does it refer to being restricted from eating certain foods? Or does it refer to the actual amount of food one can eat?
  10. Girl before u know it the 23rd is here. I wish u luck with your quitting smoking, my problem is my wine!! I looked forward to coming home from work everyday to my glass ( sometimes 2) while cooking dinner..... I still have it but 1 or 2 times a week, and darnnit I miss it!! Lol I'm sure those dreams good luck indeed! Soon we will be sexy mamas! Yes, this is now getting a little harder than in the beginning. I have not had my 1st fill yet so I can eat anything... Gotta be super careful not to overdue it. Its pure will power and making the right choices at this point for me. Really looking forward to feeling " restriction".... I still have not started to exercise so I am so happy that you are at it! I wish I liked it:( Hope to hear from u soon!!!
  11. I know Xavier.. It's just that I'm reading 20, 25, 30 pounds lost in the 1st month of many other bandsters..... I started with a low BMI of 31, so i didn't have to do a preop diet.
  12. Congrats on your success Hedder! That's awesome. I have not yet started to exercise.... I'm sure once I get started and get my 1st fill the pounds should begin to disappear quicker!!
  13. Thanks for the info... When were you banded? How much have you lost? I had my surgery 2/14 and have only lost 14 lbs...
  14. Breakfast: 1 cup special K high Protein Cereal with 1/2 cup skim milk Lunch: 5 Oz chicken salad made with miracle whip and ricotta cheese 1 wasa cracker 1 sf pudding cup Dinner: 1/4 sweet potato, 1/2 cup black Beans, 1/4 eggplant with melted mozzarella in top I'm one month post op, and I feel I'm eating so much! Any advice? Ideas?
  15. Hi Didi! Nice to hear from you! Well I am actually 1 month post op today, and 14 pounds have melted away:) I'm hoping it will go a bit quicker once I get my 1st fill on the 19th. How about you? Tell me how your journey has gone so far?
  16. I am 1 month post op, and will be going on vacation this week:) Any suggestions on "smart" restaurant choices for this stage? ( besides soups please.. Lol)
  17. So funny... Mine tells me the same exact thing.. "your gonna leave us aren't you"..... He also says it jokingly, but it hurts my feelings a little that he would even think that!! I would never ever leave my beautiful 6 and 2 year olds...I just want them to have a skinny sexy mommy and j want my hubby to see that thin woman he fell in love with 13 years ago!!!!!
  18. Thanks for the wonderful advice Zin! U have been super helpful. I guess I will just have to play it by ear, and as u day listen to my body:) Congrats on ur success!! Are u at your goal?
  19. Thanks Jennifer... Day by day it shall be:)
  20. I'm in mushies, but still have not tried either! Sounds like an awesome combo. Actually peanut butter is on my Drs menu but bananas aren't... Hmmm
  21. Good Sunday morning to all!! Quick question, I am just about 1 month post op and thankfully have not had 1 single problem with any food I've tried to this point..( last night had 1/2 homemade turkey burger very cautiously and went down great) Now, I have not had my 1st fill yet... Question is, just because I can eat it now with no fill doesn't necessarily mean I will be as lucky after fills? Or does the food that I can eat now generally remains my friend after fills? Any advice? Experiences? Thanks!
  22. Hi guys,... I was banded 2/14/12.... (3 weeks ago) and I am still in the mushie stage working towards regular food. It is insane how quickly I must run.. Lol sometimes 4 times a day!
  23. Hope this is temporary, but find myself literally "running" to the bathroom ( yes, #2) after most meals!! Its kinda embarrassing while at work!! Anyone else in this predicament? Ahhh!!!
  24. I wore one of my husbands t-shirts and jogging pants... The comfier the better, as you might be wearing it the rest of the evening when you go fast asleep
