I had my first fill almost three weeks ago and NO restriction!! I know sometimes it takes several but today I ate a roll(1st one since banded) a ceaser salad and a 8oz steak in one sitting. No problems at all and I did not even take very small bites.I am soo discouraged. If I did not have a picture of my band I would not believe it is there.I am trying to eat small portions (besides what I ate today) but I am starving and my weight loss has come to a halt:cry My second fill is Tuesday so I am praying this one works.I am dreaming of a bathing suit for the summer(one piece of coarse!)
  2. Count me in ! I have 9 to go and can't wait:biggrin1: :biggrin1:
  3. My first fill has made NO difference.I have an appt for 5/2 for my 2cd fill :clap2:

  6. Well I almost forgot I had posted this awhile back.I ended up just telling them.I figured they would find out one day.I did not tell anyone before surgery besides my husband. My mother wanted to kick my butt that I did not tell her prior. Anyway,I can not stomach the slimfast and I was on mushies by the time we went to the beach so I ate oatmeal, mashed potatoes and tomatoe soup.I was pretty much feeling fine by the weekend except for that dang shoulder/neck pain. Thanks for all the replies!!!

Ok..I have been SOOO good even though I have been starving since one week post op.I have an appt for a fill on Thursday.Anyway, we got a baby sitter last night and went out and I had 3 drinks!! Then this morning I cooked the huge cinnamon rolls with the cream cheese icing out of the can for the kids and I ate one!(I quess one is better than the three I would eat prior to surgery) This reassured be that I am wide open! Someone please come to my house and kick my ars!!!PS...We are having a crawfish boil for easter:phanvan
  8. My Doc said NO meat. But I have had some pasta that I should have not had.It was the only thing on the menu soft.I am counting down the days till my fill(12) This is SOOOO HARD!!!
  9. Hello.I used Dr Spivak and he was GREAT!!I live in Southeast Texas and had to travel 2hrs but well worth it!!
  10. My husband and I ate at Olive Garden yesterday and i had to watch him eat the whole basket of breadsticks:tired My cure for not grabbing one was the fact that I paid cash for my surgery (and I am very frugal)I told my husband I paid $12k for my "Will Power"!!!
  11. I live 2 hours away so I am not able to go to the meetings:think Good Luck to you also!!!
  12. I felt like I had a HORRIBLE crick in my neck.I went through two bottles of my pain med and used a heating pad .It lasted for about 7days.Mine felt more like neck pain than the shoulder pain that everyone described.I am not sure if this is how you would describe your pain, but the good news is it does go away!
  13. I feel your pain.I am in Banster Hell right now!!! I was banded March 12th and I am starving:hungry: .I drink protein drinks between meals sometimes but still no help.My doctors office told me since I had a lower BMI that I probably did not have alot of fat on my stomach to cause some restriction.Probably the only place on my body that did not have fat:rolleyes: She told me I could have very SMALL amount of salad, brown rice,of even pasta to try and ease the hunger pain.I am scarred to eat these(I am trying to act like a restricted banster as long as I can)Only 3 more weeks til a fill.I can do this..I can do this...I can do this!!!!
  14. I am soooo hungry!!!:welldoneclap:  I was banded on Mach 12th and I am so disappointed to already be hungry! I am eating a variety of soft scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, refried beans, protein shakes, crystal light, diet green tea, soup and I feel like I am starving.Does anyone have any suggestions???I REALLY want this band to work!!!
  15. Hey Amy,I am Amy too and am having surgery today also with Dr Spivak.Hope they do not get us mixed up! LOL He is doing 3 surgeries today and all 3 of us are on this board.Pretty neat.I am just trying to waste time before I make my 2hour trip.I am sooooo excited!! GOOD LUCK!!!
  16. Has anyone tried the Muscle Milk pudding(is it any good?)Also, which is better the liquid or the powder Muscle Milk shakes???GNC has BOGO 1/2 off,so I going to stock up.
  17. Only 39 more hours till my surgery and I will be an official March Bandster:clap2:
  18. I live in Port Neches and am a nurse in an area hospital,he does not have a very good reputation around here :phanvan
  19. I did not have to have any pre-testing or evals done.Of course I am self-pay so I think that makes a HUGE difference.
  20. I had a large nodule and the right side of my thyroid removed in 2000.I had an ultrasound,ct scans, biopsys, all the works. The biopsy came back questionable for cancer so between the biopsy resuly and the surgery I was pretty nervous(I was only 25).Good thing is Thyroid Cancer is the easiest to cure.Surgery was a nightmare because of all the pressure that was put on my ear to remove the nodule, but that was rare.It was suppose to be a easy painless surgery( I had no pain in my neck,Just my ear hurt like hell!!)Anyway everything is fine now.No meds or anything.I try and get a thyroid panel done once a year and so far so good.Good Luck I know it can be a very nerve racking thing finding a lump any where in your body it should't be!!
  21. Thanks for all the replies. My post-op sheet says liquids for 24-48 hrs post-op then soft foods for 4weeks.I will probably use the Atkins excuse.I did not even think of that! The trip to the beach will be "a lazy weekend " So hopefully I will be OK.It will probably be easier than at home because my kids will be entertained by their cousins.Plus I have a wonderful husband that does anything and everything for our kids.
  22. I am being banded on March 12th:clap2: and we are going to the beach with my in-laws on March 16th.Problem is I am not telling them I am getting banded. They are all skinny:huytsao Can I have slimfast this soon after surgery and just tell them I am doing the "slimfast" diet.Any suggestions??? By the way......I LOVE this board!!!
  23. That would be neat!! They did not give me a time yet but she said it would probably be around 11 or 12.I will find out on Friday the time. Only 7 days!!!! I am sooo excited!!!!!
