Caribear - thank you so much for the reminder about the sodium. I just checked my food diary on myfitnesspal.com and I am averaging 4000 - 5000 mg of sodium a day!!! OUCH! Now, I need to figure out how to undo this. I LOVE salt, but obviously, it is NOT loving me! LOL. Thanks again!

I agree with the above posters, you can do this! You can always start over.
Something you may want to check on is your sodium intake. My nutritionist said that if your diet is too high in sodium it will cause your weight loss to stall, plus it can make you retain water which will make the number on the scale go up. I was eating 1200-1800 cals per day, burning between 250-600 per day with exercise, and eating low-carb, but wasn't losing weight. My family doc was stumped because for me, 1200 cals is a very-low-calorie diet. My nutritionist told me to keep my sodium below 2000 mg per day, and voila, I lost 5 pounds the first week and have been going down a pound or two per week ever since.
I know it's one more thing to keep track of, but it might help you get started in the right direction again. Sodium can be sneaky! I was floored to find out that my lowfat 1% cottage cheese has 918 mg per cup !
I know you can do this. Just try to see it as a temporary setback that you can overcome. I'll be praying for you!

You must get 80 grams of protein a day. I know it sounds strange, but you must get in the calories, protein and excercise and you will be amazed. I am still new at this, but this recommendation was given to me and I turned the corner. Good luck and take care!

That is so funny you mention the "food port". For the first month after my surgery, I too recognized how many food commercials are on tv and how much everyone is always eating in sitcoms! Food I never craved, never had, never had a desire to have, LOOKED GOOD! I wanted to taste everything.... I think it was because of the weeks of protein shakes and liquids. LOL!

That's the reason you shouldn't weigh everyday - BUT I DO IT TOO!!! Your body fluctuates with regards to fluids. Next you'll see it come back down. Hang in there!

I don't think I would have signed on for this for 1-2 1bs weight loss a week! This cost me personally $12,000. I am just beyond frustrated. I have only 3cc's in my band right now.

Here's a good old saying: Worring is like a rocking chair, you can do it as much as you want, but it won't get you anywhere! Good luck and stay positive! YOU CAN DO IT!! I have just started my journey as well...the head games you play with yourself will always be there I think - it's just how you manage through them that counts.

Hi there! Don't worry about the pills! I had no problem taking small tablets the day after surgery. If you have discomfort you can use a pill cutter to size them down or just outright crush them. Congrats on taking the first steps. I wish you luck and we should stay in touch with our progress! Take care! Leslie

I was banded on 12/20/2011 and have went from 363(at start of liquid diet) to 345(today). I am at a stand still with loss. Talking with my doctor today, he said I might have loss inches and not pounds and that my body is still healing, so do not push it. I go for my first fill 01/20/2012. Do get discouraged,Good luck! Wish you the best.

welcome and congrats. i was banded on december 1st and when i went to my first week follow up i had lost 25 pounds. but the next two weeks i lost nothing and at my third week follow up the dr said that 500 calories was not enough and increase to 800. when i increased to 800 last week, i lost the 2 pounds. may want to think about adding to the daily menu. good luck and keep up the good work

First off CONGRATS!!! you are doing great and please know don't let the scale discourage you..I was stuck on the same number on mine or 2months straight, at one point i stopped getting on it, then i had my second fill last week and am down 11 lbs in 1 week (go figure) Remember that if you slip up with your "tool" you can start over, hell we didn't gain the weight over night and won't lose it that way. I started my journey at 320lbs and am at as of today to 259 (i am so excited) it is the best thing that i could have done for myself and never would regret my decision to have the lap band..GL to you and keep up the good work
