  1. Hey hang in there, this is a journey. I've been stuck in the 220's forever. This week I finally got tight with my eating and workouts and the weight is coming off again. We will have our good days and bad days. So are you crafty or a baker? You could always bake some nice cookies or muffins and give those as gifts. Party City has some nice festive bags and those little Chinese take out boxes decorated. I'm thinking about doing that for my friends at work. It's the thought that counts. Anyway, if you want to DM me, I can email you this excel spreadsheet I made. I originally kept up with it weekly, but just ended up doing ti the old school way and writing/coloring on a desk calender I have hung by my bed. The spreadsheet has two sheets and two graphs. One is a x/y plot of weight vs. date and the other is a column plot that shows the weight lost for each week.

    Happy Holidays :)

  2. That's good that you had a loss over the holiday! I am finding that the further we are out with the surgery, the more snacking I've been doing. I maintained last week. I did manage to work out 3 times last week. I was eating way too many sweets and junk food. It's weird I got 2 weight loss compliments at work yesterday. So I think even though the scale isn't moving, we are shrinking. I know you are especially with doing those Crossfit workouts. I finally bought the XBox 360 Kinect yesterday and did the new Zumba Core this morning. I love it! I just need to stay motivated with these workouts. Thanks for keeping up with your blog. I'm finding that I'm not up here much anymore. Take care!

  3. Good to hear from you! I'm sure Crossfit is making you drop a lot of inches. I also had a bad week Halloween week. I was doing well with my clean eating, then when Sandy hit we got 2 days off plus I had Halloween candy in the house, it was a major fail! I gained this week (I'm accounting 1 lb for my hair, I got really long braids put in lol). I have been doing kettlebell workouts every morning before work this week, so I'm still trucking! Keep up the good work :)

  4. Good job on the loss. I'm down 4 lbs this week. I really had to get back to basics with only protein, fruits, and veggies. It's hard but I'm only 32 lbs away from goal. I'm actually wearing a size 16 denim slacks at work today, they are very fitting, but hey I got my booty in them :)

It is true that working your legs burns more calories. They are bigger muscles and require more energy to move them, plus they are supporting your whole body weight, hence more calories burned. I really need to get back into doing squats and lunges. I don't want to lose my booty. As far as protein powders, I was never a fan of vanilla either, unless I mixed fruit or peanut butter (or oreo cookies) in it. I just ordered a sample pack of Chike shakes last week. They are meal replacement shakes so they have some carbs, but also vitamins and minerals. Just from what I've read about them here and on Obesity Help, they taste just like a milkshake and have no grit or after taste. They also have an iced protein coffee. I'm not a coffee fan but I'm still going to try it. The other flavors are chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, banana, and orange (I've heard it tastes like a creamsicle). I will let you know how they are after I try them. They have excellent customer service too. They shipped a few hours after I ordered them and they called me to see how I heard about them and if I like them. It's 28 g of protein/serving and that's if it's mixed with water. I plan on mixing mine with milk.

  5. Vacation was amazing! And get this, I lost 2 lbs! How weird. I ate and drank whatever I wanted. But the resort was huge and we had to climb up hills and stairs to get to breakfast. We were curious one day and counted the stairs...61! We were like I bet we will come home lighter and we did. And I brought my 2 bikinis and wore them. They are a size 16. My stomach is no where near flat but I still wore them! I love the Dominican Republic, I'm already planning to go back in February with my boyfriend :)

  6. Oh and as far as shopping, I bought over $200 worth of clothes at Burlington Coat Factory last weekend. Their prices were amazing, it was like 4 bags total. Shirts/blouses for work, sweaters, some jewelry, some lingerie :) And I bought another goal dress, size 14. It's a straight cut so it is realllllllly tight over my hips. Hope I can wear it in a few months :)

  7. Awesome! Congrats!!! That is a great week's loss. I lost 2 this week making my total 56.6. I worked out 5 days last week so I think that helped. I'm leaving for vacation next Wednesday (my weigh-in day) so I would like to lose a little before I go away. I'm already planning to do a "back to basics" clean eating when I get back. I need to really work hard to get these pounds off now. I'm still eating too many sweets. I can't believe tomorrow is our 6 month surgiversary <3

  8. Hey I feel your frustration. I like how you pointed out all of your victories! My weight is doing the same thing, Bouncing up and down the same pound. My eating hasn't been the healthiest, and I'm not working out as much as I should, but I'm trying to do better the next day than I was the day before. I got up at 5 am to do my Tap Out Extreme workout, and boy was it intense. Now I'm starving :( I reallllly want to be down 60 lbs on the 28th. I have a vacation coming up October 3rd, my body is not where I want it, but I'm still going to wear a bikini dammit! Keep up the good work!

  9. It's more than likely water weight from the food and your time of the month. I'm sure you will lose big next week! I'm down 1 lb this week making my total 55.2 lbs. It's also my time of the month. Boo! I've been eating a lot of sugary treats lately. I'm really trying to cut those out. Haven't been working out consistently, I think I got in 2 workouts last week. Here's to a better week for the both of us.

  10. Good job! I'm down 2.2 this week making my total 54.2. I also did a lil shopping last weekend for work clothes. I bought L tops and they all fit. I also bought a size 14 goal dress from H&M. It already fits! Just a little tight around the hips but I know it won't be that way for long.

Have fun this weekend with your hubby :)

  11. I'm noticing a lot of hair loss too, and my hair is very thin in the front already. Thanks genetics :( I finally broke my stall and lost 3.2 lbs this week. I didn't do anything different to break it, I just kept on trucking. I'm hoping I'm back to consistent losses. I'm still doing Zumba and my elliptical. I just got sucked into an infomercial and ordered Tap Out XT. It's kinda like Insanity, I think I'm insane for trying it. Good luck next week, I hope you make it to onederland!

  12. Good job! It's good that you are consistently losing. I'm still at a stall, ugh! I guess I'm shrinking because I keep getting compliments, but I want to see the numbers come down! I read that when you stall it's your body remembering a weight you were at for a long time. I don't remember being 238 for a long time, but I guess I was. I'm going to keep on truckin and hope my body stops resisting. Good luck next week!

  13. Good luck. I was sleeved in TJ by Dr. Kelly in March and to this day my mom doesn't know I went to TJ. I called her while I was there and had to lie to her. I told her I had my surgery 3 weeks later when I saw her face to face. I lied and told her I had it done locally. Sometimes we have to keep the truth from the ones we love to protect them.

  14. Good job you are so close to Onderland! I lost 0 this week, and 1 last week. So I think I'm on my first stall :( Not too bad for 15 weeks out I guess. I ate a lot of junk last week, I was in Atlantic City for the Holiday. So I'm not sure if it's a real stall or just not losing because of the junk. I'm not worried though, I can tell I'm shrinking and today wore a blouse to work that I haven't been able to fit in years. It's a size 14/16 but it's a long tunic and it actually fits over my large hips now. Yay NSV!

That's cool about your co-worker. Only a few people know I went to MX to get sleeved. Still keeping the big secret from my Mom. At first I thought the surgery you were talking about was plication, but I'm not sure now. Hopefully you can convince him to get the real sleeve. I talked one of my friends out of the crapband, and now she's getting sleeved. I feel like a spokesmodel now LOL!

I'm still doing Zumba classes and my elliptical, but now my Mom has an XBOX Kinect and I so want one now. I played Zumba on it and it's great. Maybe I will get it when I hit the 50 lb mark which is 2 lbs away.

  15. Wow I could have written this myself! I have a PhD, I've always thought as myself as beautiful on this inside and out, I just could never get a hold of my weight issue. I think I went on my first diet in 6th grade. Getting this surgery is the BEST thing I have ever done for myself and I would do it 1000 times over. Best $5500 I ever spent :)

  16. That's good that you still had a loss after that weekend. One of my best friends came to visit and I ate a lot of not so healthy things. But we were active. We went horseback riding, sailing, and walking around DC to the monuments. I was down 2.2 lbs last week. I think I only officially worked out once, but so far this week I've worked out everyday. My NSV last week was I was able to buy some size 18 regular Bermuda shorts. I was really happy about that. I got my first "wow you've lost a lot of weight" comment at work yesterday. That really made me happy too. My total loss is 47 lbs. So close to 50!
