  1. Thanks for your responses. Xavier, has your band been the same way even after getting fills? Closed in the morning and open at night.
  2. I am scheduled to go in for a fill this Wednesday. I was banded on 12/2 and dr put 1cc in my band. I do feel restrictions but not all the time. After 7pm on most days it appears I can eat almost anything and as much as I want. I'm not hungry in the mornings but I do eat an egg. During lunch i Usually feel restrictions. A few days ago I couldn't eat anything without spitting something up. Really bad day. On average. I am eating approx 1200 calories a day and the scale is not moving. Should I get a fill? If so, how much would you recommend? I am indecisive because I am feeling restrictions and don't want to overdo it.
  3. I have the same issues - I was banded on December 2, 2011. We can not change bad habits overnight. We have to take it one day at a time and make weekly goals and stop looking at the scale. If we change our lifestyles, the scale will eventually follow. Congradulations Brenda on your weight loss.
  4. Thank you for the information. I can't wait to get to mine.
  5. I'm counting my calories using myfitnesspal; but it does not seem to help as far as the scale. Reviwing posts of people that have lost a lot of weight in small periods of time; they all indicate they exercise and eat right. I wonder if they eat right "all" the time or just the majority of the time. I go in for my fill on January 4, 2012.
  6. Nice to meet you both. My BMI was 34 at the time of being banded on December 2, 2011. I go in for my first fill on January 4, 2012. It's great you have a good suport system. I didn't tell anyone. My husband doesn't even know I had he surgery. He feels I should be able to loose the weight with will power. Where do you live in Texas?
  7. Thanks for the responses. I am concerned about my calories because I don't think I am getting in enough. My scale is not moving. Today, I have eaten a lot more than usual - no restrictions. I am going in next week for a fill.
  8. Yep, I am very familar. It happens either when I haven't chewed my food well or when I eat too fast. I usually just drink some water and it assists it in just coming up. I was banded on December 2nd and this has happened 3 times; 2 in one day.
  9. You are having good restrictions. I am not eatting a whole lot; but more than you are. I have 1cc in my band. Is your appetite the same through out the day? It appears after 8pm I tend to eat; of course when I don't want to. Why do you go to the bathroom after you eat?
  10. I have been following my diet with myfitnesspal.com; however, I am not getting enough calories from my actual breakfast/lunch/dinner meals. I do have some restrictions (eat from 3/4 to 1 cup of food) and my band appears to be wide open after 8:00 pm at which time I usually crave and eat junk food (in moderation). I do eat my protein first. Please give me examples of what you all eat to reach 1200 calories per day? It does not appear to be possible to me with eating meat, fruit and vegys. I have eliminated cheese because of the calories and I eat very little bread if any. My calorie intake is usually around 1000-1100 calories with me eating snacks at night and the scale is not moving either way. Please help me with my diet? I have 1cc in band.
  11. You should request Dr. Fox in Richardson - he is wonderful. I have heard some negative things about a few True Results local doctors, but none are listed on this blog.
  12. I was banded on the 2nd and my port site is still a little sore; however, I am able to lay on my stomach. Since my surgery, I have only been wearing loose shirts because the fitted ones seemed to iritate my incision. Also, my gas is horrific - 100% worse than prior to the surgery; the only good thing is that it's just air, it doesn't have a smell to it. I was informed the gas is resulting from eating more vegys.
  13. I had a really bad sinus infection on the day of my surgery. It was clear after surgery because they give antibiotics. Good Luck.
  14. I was banded on December 2 and have not been regular since. I finally took some Miralox on Sunday because it just wasn't normal for me. I have been regular daily.
  15. Try drinking water. It seems to make it come up quicker. I had this issue on Saturday on 2 different occasions and it came out after I drunk some water.
  16. I am 17 days post op. I have a 10cc band. Dr. Fox put 1cc in my band at the time of surgery. I am feeling some restrictions (tighting of my chest after small meals (less than 3/4 of cup) that last 3-4 hours). It appears my band is open a little during the day but after 8:00 pm is really opens as I can eat a lot more at night. I was told I still may have some swelling that is causing the restrictions. My first fill appointment is scheduled for January 4, 2012. I have not decided if I am going to get a fill or not. I have views many of what I feel are horror stories resulting from fills. I have lost 13 pounds since my initial appointment with True Results on November 18, 2011 (surgery date 12/2/2011). I am at 181 pounds and my goal weight is 145 pounds. My incisions are healing very well. I have learned soo much from reading this forum. This site has definitely been my support through this process.
  17. Hello, this is my first entry. I am 39 years old and was banded on 12/2/2011. I have been struggling with my weight for the last 8 years with a steady BMI of 34. I could no longer control my eatting habits and the weight was just not leaving the way it used to. I am married; however, I only told one person I was being banded; and she did not understand why. I didn't want to hear the criticism from anyone. I prayed about my decision and this was a personal choice. My husband of 14 years does not understand - he does not feel anyone should have surgery to loose weight. He believes you should be able to do it with mere will power. Needless to say, the first couple of days was challenging but I am now 17 days post op and no one have a clue that I have had the surgery. I was sore for the first 2 days (the pain medicine was awesome) and I told my family I was on a liquid diet thus is the reason why I was not eating.
