So I Had A Bezoar? Anybody Know About These
If you're a hairstylist, you could be inhaling fine, floating hairs when you are using clippers on men, or other really short hair. Just a thought. When I cut my boys' hair, I'm always coughing and sneezing from that. Since there is a connection in the back of your throat/sinuses, you could be swallowing some. (?)

I Admit It! Even If No One Else Will!
I went through several weeks where I was just hungry ALL the time! Not even head hunger...I mean stomach empty gnawing and growling hunger! I had to eat, it seemed, every hour! I couldn't figure out how I was going to get my liquids down if I kept eating! (no liquids for 1/2 hour....). THANK GOD it finally stopped! It's hard to choose to fill up on a quality protein instead of something "dangerous." But try to make the right choice when you are that hungry, and you will be farther ahead. Try hard to get those liquids down. It will help your energy level as well. Try some G2. It tastes good and low cal. This is a tough road. Stay strong!

Eating Myself To Death
I ATE THE WOOORLD before my pre op diet started. I can't believe I only gained 10 pounds. A lot of people will say don't do it....but I don't regret it for a minute. I made myself sick and miserable doing it, but it got all that crap out of my system, and just confirmed my conviction that I need this surgery if I wanted to live a long, healthy life. Do what ya gotta do. That's all I can say.

5 Weeks Out And And Stalled 4
I stalled out for almost 6 weeks. I re-evaluated EVERYthing I was taking in. I found that if I go too far above 800 calories, I stop losing. I scaled back anything with carbs (I still need 1/4 cup Grape nuts in my low carb yogurt for some "fiber action") and laid off weights at the gym and just going with cardio and walking. That pushed me back into loss mode. I was frustrated with the stall, and started getting careless.

Chugging Water! :)
OH, that's way normal. I've heard that from a lot of people on here. My drinking capacity increases all the time. I couldn't really chug beFORe surgery, so I think I'm back to pretty normal drinking.

I Feel Sick
Hehe...I remember doing that. I know exactly how you feel! It took me forever to figure out what all the different sensations were! If I even drank my protein shake too fast, I got that "I wanna hurl" feeling for about 20 minutes. I'd walk around until I felt better. Anything with fat content must be eaten S L O O O O W L Y. Believe me- you'll get past this phase and on to new ones!

I Need Help....
If it's caffeine withdrawal...there's almost nothing that helps but time. Water is your best bet, I believe also. There is a definite detox effect in the pre op diet. Just something you have to push through.

Movie Snack Suggestions
Veggie sticks (puffy, chip-like veggie things)-like a small baggie full- or a big old dill pickle! YUM. Best part- pickles are a freebee if you can handle the sodium!

How Many Calories A Day Do You Usually Eat?
at....where am I....nine weeks? I think so... Uhhh, I try to stay at 800. If I go below that, I get homicidally hungry, and much above that, I don't lose any weight. My threshold seems to be between 800 and 1000, but like I said, I try to stay near 800. And most of that is solid proteins.

Saggy Skin.
It always kills me when the few people that know I've had surgery ask me "but aren't you worried about loose skin???" All I can say is "sure, but is that a reason I should stay 340 pounds?? So my skin won't sag?" No thanks! LOL I'll take a small, saggy butt any day over a huge firm one!

Saggy Skin.
At your age with no childbirth- I think you'll snap back like a rubber band. Everyone is different though.

Not Loosing/ Or High Expectations
Yep. When you start at 340 pounds, it's kinda like a fat-a-lanche at first. By the time I get down to your STARTing weight....I expect it will be rather slow going. No worries. Just follow the rules, and enjoy the ride.

Can't Get Anything Down
It's not even a week yet, and they have you on protein already?? I wouldn't worry about it. Liquids are the primary concern right now. After a week, SOME protein should sit alright.

Anyone Have A "strange" Relationship With Their Vitamins
I must investigate these! I gave away my Bariatric Advantage Multis and Calcium chewables, because they are sooo disgusting! I dreaded taking them.

3 Months Out..am I On Target?
I think as long as it's fairly steady...the amount is fine.

Is A Two Week Stall Normal?
Yes, it is normal. Here's my warning to you: Do NOT let your diet slip out of frustration. I was in a stall and it has lasted almost 6 weeks. I recently started re evaluating my food and realized I was slipping into a dangerous zone and my weight was just maintaining. The scale has started moving again when I cut back on some things. My "normal" stall turned into "dead in the water." That doesn't happen to everyone, but it CAN. So, just beware. That is all...

Bariatric Advantage
I ordered a bunch of BA vitamins. I had to give away the chewable multivitamins. To this day, if I even IMAGINE taking them, I feel like I'm going to throw up. They are wretched, horrible vitamins. The calcium wasn't much better. Gave it away too. I still want to find a bariatric specific vitamin I can stomach, now that I can swallow pills.

Why Doesn't Anyone Say Anything?
I think most people are too self-involved to notice until it's like.....almost a hundred. There have been a couple people at our church over the years that lost a bunch of weight and I looked one day and thought.."wait a minute...he used to be HUGE! What happened?" Then I'd say something, and they'd be like "ya, I lost 90 pounds!" Well, don't I feel the perfect fool! Sometimes it takes a while for people to snap.

Completely Terrified
You won't die. You WILL lose weight.. and ya...you might miss food for a while. But what has it ever gotten you? Momentary pleasure, yes. And weight loss surgery. Just change your thinking right now. You will do GREAT!!! Your new stomach will help you through.
