Weight Loss Pre-Op
You'll do great. The motivation to stay on the liquids once you get there is this: If you don't- the surgeon could cancel your surgery if he sees conditions are not right- or- he could convert to an open incision surgery. NO THANKS! I did not take ONE sip or bite of ANYthing I was not supposed to. You can do a LOT more than you think you can. Trust me!

1St Day Of Soft Foods
Naaahhhh you'll get there. Don't worry. You only have one chance to heal. Do it right! Don't push yourself. The time flies by and you'll be chewing away before you know it!

1St Day Of Soft Foods
I'd be putting that stuff in the blender. Sounds a little much for you yet, texture-wise.

Eating Is A Chore Now!
Oooohhh I know those pickles are delicious!! I was not allowed something that solid at three weeks. I'm hitting 7 weeks on Monday, and I just had pickles in this last week or so. I'd try not to eat the skin if I were you. That's the part that would be bad I think. I don't know what rules you've been given though. I was VERY excited about the pickles!!

Weight Loss Pre-Op
Yup. I could have written that same post when I was on pre op liquids. I lost 15 in that two weeks. My husband said "well, don't hit me or anything, but why couldn't you keep doing this instead of having the surgery?" I just had no words to answer him. Someone on here said it perfectly: "Can you hold your breath for one minute? Sure. Can you hold it for the rest of your life???"

Vitamins?
Oh barf!! I have the Bariatric Advantage chewables, and I just absolutely cannot take those things. I finally went and got some pre natal gummies, just so I'd have something to suffice for now. I'm sure I'll have to find a more 'quality' Vitamin in the future, but I refuse to use the rest of those BA Vitamins. They'd make me sick for an hour. BLECH. I'm not usually such a baby about stuff either!

6 Weeks, Stomach Hunger Pains Or Acid?
Wow!! I have totally been going through the same thing!! My surgery was on 2/13. Sounds like the same day as yours, as Monday is also my seven week mark. For a week or so now I have been downright HUNGRY!! I get that gnawing sensation after any food has left my stomach. At night is the WORST! If I was smart, I'd go to bed earlier, because it just drives me nuts. I've heard it said that it takes a good couple of months to get the grehlin hunger hormone out of your system. I sure hope that's true. I know mine is not acid, since i've been taking stuff for that for the better part of 25 years. I'm more than familiar with what acid feels like. Way too familiar. This is hunger, NO doubt.

Monkeys Don't Throw Cake
I hate those dreams when you're trying to beat up the bad guy or thing or whatever it is, and your blows land like a kitten paw. So frustrating. I've always had super freaky dreams all my life too. About once a year I have a dream so bad it takes me the whole day to shake it off. Thank God it's not more often!

Forum Is So Helpful
That's great!! I still think you're doing well, but it's good that you have that attitude, because that will keep you on track the rest of your life. Even when the weight is gone you will have to have this same mindset. Good for you!! God bless your journey!

Super Saturday Weigh In
I think I'm down. I'm just not sure anymore. I weigh myself at the YMCA with their "good scale" (the one with the weight blocks that you move up and down.) according to it, i've lost about 10 lbs in the last two weeks. HOWEVER- my scale hasn't budged an ounce. I think it's broken. (it's a mechanical dial scale) So yesterday I went to Costco and bout a weight watchers digital scale. I'm so confused. All I know is I weigh about as much as a baby rhino. LOL

Where Are You 200+Er's?
I know, right??? I couldn't figure out WHAT I was feeling for the longest time!! It was really weird. Am I hungry? Am I full? What the heck?? Button tuck should straighten out. I had one that the skin was higher on one side of the incision than the other. Like a bubble. It flattened out though. I think....lemme look.......YEP! TOtally evened out.

Where Are You 200+Er's?

My Post Op Diet Seems Less Strict Than Most Others
Dr. Kim is the best! Don't go. Just bear out the liquid diet. I've tried many many Proteins already, and I'm here to tell you, Bari Essentials is NOT bad in comparison to some of the wretch I've tried since surgery!! He does that because he wants a level playing field and a consistent outcome. The liquid is not only to shrink the liver, but to clean out the digestive tract before surgery. With the Bari Essentials you are getting COMPLETE nutrition. Your body wants for nothing! I felt great while doing it. I had to battle my head talking to me of course, but my body did super. He did a great job on my surgery, and I've not had ONE complication, have not thrown up, or felt bad or ANYthing. Don't give up on him because of pre op. Oh, and the vanilla is better than the chocolate...FYI. You can add stuff to it (sugar free Jello and flavorings and such.)

I'm Pre Op And Emotional
I'd say you have plenty of reasons to be emotional right now!!! I was a wreck for a couple weeks before surgery, and that's all I had going on, so I can imagine... yikes. Good news is...it seems if your a mess before, there's a chance you'll level out after. I did. I hope you do too!
