  2. In honor of Mother's Day my children are taking the Mothers to Golden Corral for breakfast. I told them this is the last time i will ever go to a buffet.....ever! (Surgery is mid-June.) Actually i feel guilty going this morning because i know it's wrong, therefore i will eat light. ! Here's hoping that my mind-set is changing!! Have a beautiful day even, if you're not a Mom!
  3. Hi Ladiiee and welcome! I will be sleeved June 14. Im nervous too. I realized that my fear is because im giving up my best friend for the past 25 years -- Food! Then I remember why i started this journey: my back always hurts, my knees swell and i sometimes look like im 20 yrs older than i am! Fear and nerves are totally normal. Keep reading on here - its a real education and the ppl are soooooo nice!!
  4. Hi and welcome! I will be sleeved in June. My ins made me participate on a one year program. Yes, 12 months! It feels like forever! Glad u only have 3 months! This forum has been a God-send! The information is invaluable! Good Luck!
  5. Oops i hit send too soon. Anyway i hope that helped!
  6. I havent been sleeved yet but ive been pn this forum for 6 months and it seems thatcevery stresses walking as much as possible to get rid of the gas.
  7. I've read alot about sip, sip, sipping water/liquids all the time for awhile after surgery. Will it alwys be like that?
  8. I know, right? I feel like im part of a sorority/fraternity!! I just hope i find you all on here to follow your progress. It gets confusing sometimes with all the posts!
  9. Holy mackeral! You look awesome!! Good for you!
  10. @wolfgirl: we need to stay in touch. It could be very theraputic to talk to someone going thru it w/me! @beautifulnewme2012: that makes sense. Since i have a month maybe the bad feelings will ebb! Lol
  11. Good luck you two!! My surgery is June 14. I will be watching your progress!!!
  12. Wow, you will be able to start eating real food 1 week post op? That's great. I just got my approval today for 6/14. I love reading stories like yours -- sounds like it's going pretty well and to say it's only been a week! Good luck and have a great dr. appt tomorrow!
  13. YOU LOOK AMAZING! I just posted that I got my approval today and I'm petrified but looking at your progress makes me calm down a bit!!!!
  14. Thank you for the kind words!
  15. Wow, awesome pics! I just got approved and I'm scared to death. But seeing these pics really helped! You are beautiful!
  16. I just got the word that my insurance approved my surgery for June 14. After 12 long months of mandatory counseling, I couldn't wait to hear this news. Then 15 minutes later, my stomach started doing flips because reality just set in. I'm petrified now! I wanted this so bad and I am probably feeling what other people have felt but reading about it for the last 6 months still doesn't make the way I feel any less real! Maybe it's the finality of it all -- knowing that they can't put my stomach back once it's done. Gosh I feel like a fool -- I should be jumping for joy!
  17. I have not been sleeved yet either (June 14) but ive been a forum member for 5 months and if Ive read it once, I've read it 100 times about the 3 or 4 week stalls. The experts on here say that the body puts pn the brakes and adjusts to post surgery and quick weight loss. They also say to be patient and it will start falling off again. Just keep the faith!
  18. Whew, this process was so long for me (12 months) and now I'm waiting on the insurance company to call. My surgeons office called Friday and said they put through all the paperwork. The scheduler told me a month ago that my insurance company is one of the easiest to work with because they respond in 24-48 hours. Well, today is the 2nd day. Wouldn't you know that I have to attend a work retreat today! So I figured out how to forward my work phone to my cell phone, that way when I'm on a break, I can check for messages. I tell ya, it seems like it's taking forever but I know it's only been two days! I guess it's because I had to go through this lengthy process of counseling for 12 months. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get the call today!
  19. Great post, Krista! I was wondering the same thing. I'll be sleeved in mid-June. I really like the powdered drink mixes w/aspartame that I can get from Walmart or Dollar Tree - 10 tubes per box. I have a ton of them and wondered if I can drink them after my surgery. All the best for you in two days!!! Keep us posted!
  20. I will be sleeved in June so I can't answer your questions but I just wanted to welcome you to the forum. This place has a ton of information and now I'm ready to take the plunge! Good Luck!
  21. Thanks for those inspiring words, Queen! I went to you blog but did not see the before pics. You look really great in the after pics!!! I can't wait for my transformation!
