Frustrated After Peoples Response When I Told Them
I'm going to tell everyone that I'm exercising and practicing portion control. Both are the truth. I'm over it -- hearing people's opinions. But I've noticed mor and more commercials on TV about WLS so soon enough it'll become more common and more accepted.

When Are You Having Wls
I have 6 weeks left on the 12 month mandatory weight loss counseling that my insurance requires. The closer I get to the end, the more scared I get. I'm so afraid I will regret surgery but Ive read so many success stories. That helps to keep me positive. I don't want to live this way anymore. I'm just a little scared.

Psyc Eval & Upper Gi Questions
Have both the psyc Eval and upper GI on Wednesday of this week. I'm nervous about the upper GI cuz I've not heard of anyone having it pre-op. I'm guessing it's cuz the Dr noticed I take something for acid reflux everyday. So scared something is going to block my surgery! I'm so close!!

What Do I Tell My Employer For Time Off? Want To Keep My Privacy
I also heard that if you have a male boss, you can just say something like "I'm having female surgery." He probably won't ask any questions. Good luck on your surgery!! I still have a couple of months. Keep us posted!

Anyone Else Too Scared To Get Started?
Wow! It's good to know I'm not the only one that is feeling like you! I see a counselor who had a gastric bypass 10 years ago and when I told her my concerns about being that 2% that might die during surgery, she said that I take a risk every day when I get in my car or when I cross the street on foot. I never looked at it like that. That helped me to make the decision -- I plan on having the surgery in a couple of months. Good luck!!

Vsg'ers Can't Gain Weight Back As Fast As Gastric Bypass'ers?
I have a few months until my surgery. I'm doing all the reading I can about VSG. This forum is FANTASTIC! I have learned so much and I appreciate everyone of you who have given advise. I feel so much better going into this with complete knowledge. I do have a few questions. I have been told that it is much harder to gain weight back after a VSG because the part of the stomach that is left, is much tougher than the part that is removed -- in other words, it doesn't stretch as well. Is this fact? The other question -- well, it's more of a comment. I've told a few people about my venture and I keep getting comments about how I don't have that much weight to lose along with a look of "you've got to be kidding" me. I have 95 lbs to lose. It makes me a bit embarrassed and I know I shouldn't feel this way. Anywho, I'm sure other people have had the same problem. Thanks for reading!

First Week At Work
I still have a few months before my surgery. I can't wait to clean my closet and hear those comments! Great job!

My Decision
I'm in a similar situation as Sleeveme81 and I've decided to only include a couple of people. I find that people are negative sometimes, because they are uninformed. But my concern is when I finally get the surgery. What do you tell people -- especially when you're losing the weight fast?? I hate to lie but I really don't want to hear all the negatives! Thanks!
