  1. Robin, I sent you a friend request. My name is Briana Taravella. My sleeve date is 6/14. Thanks for doing this!!
  2. Yup, I spoke too soon. I looked up in my paperwork and I was right -- the reason I don't have to do a pre-op diet is because of the amount of weight i need to lose. Sorry to stir up concern!! LOL
  3. In all honesty, this Dr has done thousands of surgeries. I believe the ppl that need to lose way more than me do a pre-op diet but I didnt have to - whew!
  4. I attended the education class today and met with the dietician. Got my blood work done, EKG, chest xray and met with the Dr. One more time before surgery. No pre-op diet. Just clear liquids the day befor surgery. He said that he used to do a pre-op diet but he found that most patients didnt follow it. I asked a few more questions that were on my mind and he was impressed with the depth of my knowledge. Of course i credited this forum and the help all of you have given. 10 days to go and.......I'M READY!
  5. I actually just finished the class. It covers everything about the surgery. What to eat after and what vitamins and supplements to take. Now im waiting to see the surgeon for the 2nd time. I guess he goes over everything again. I can't believe i only have 10 days left. This was a 14 month process for me. I work at CNU and live in Right down the street from Dr Clarks office. I hope all goes well with you. Keep in touch. I think you can message me on here. Let me know how ur first visit with Clark goes. Id be interested to see what you think. ????
  6. Good Luck Newhope!!!
  7. Hi thehappycat! I am in Newport News! A year ago i was a patient of Dr Clark's but i switched to Dr Terracina last fall. I will be sleeved at Mary Immac on 6/14 and can't wait! Tomorrow I have my education class with a dietician, nurse and i meet w/ the Dr one more time before surgery. Let's keep in touch through our journey! I'm excited for you!
  8. CamarilloCA, That was an interesting link! Thanks for posting.
  9. Good luck you guys! Do us june sleevers proud. I'm in count-down mode - 11 days. Wooo hooo!
  10. Congrats! I hope my journey is like yours!! 12 more days!
  11. Pdxman I should have probably rephrased that. And since you are a veteran of the sleeve, I defer to you. But, what I meant by my poorly phrased statement is that if you follow the rules, you are teaching yourself to eat properly with the help of the sleeve. Thanks for straightening this out!!
  12. June is finally almost here!!! Alright June 1 sleeve candidates -- start us off right! All the best...........
  13. Yiippee!!! Way to go!
  14. Yes, that's my little Greyson. He's actually 12 years old and 16 lbs! He's so nosey, too! Here he's trying to read what I was typing on my computer -- LOL
  15. Well I finally picked up my Cuisinart Ice Cream maker and gave it a shot. Couldn't believe how easy it was! Made mint chocolate chip (using sugar free Andes mints chopped up). This ice cream was great and I felt full because it has protein powder in it. I was just doing a trial run before I get sleeved! LOL
  16. It's exciting, isn't it?? I wish you much success. This is a great place to learn and make friends. We are all here for each other!
  17. Yes, I have the Premier in my stash, too! Just wondered about the casein. Thank you!
  18. I agree with everything said above!!
  19. Can you experienced sleevers tell me if you ever use casein protein as well as whey? I understand that casein is digested more slowly for a steady supply. I've also read that it may be good to combine the two in between meals and before bed. What are your thoughts? Thank you!!!
  20. I've stopped telling people! This is about me; this is for me and my health. I have a co-worker that said she'll never go out to lunch w me again cuz she didnt want to feel bad. I find that alot pf ppl are negative cuz they are jealous. They dont have the spine to do what we're doing. Just my opinion; I could be wrong..... :-)
  21. 21 lbs on one week?????? Wow, that's incredible!!!! Congrats.
  22. I got my coupon book not too long ago but didn't notice the Premier. Believe me, I'm going to pay attention! LOL
  23. Where did you get the coupons???
