Hello! Soon To Be Sleever Here.

Hi!

I'm considering getting a gastric sleeve. I went to a weight loss seminar about two weeks ago and it sounded awesome. Right now my BMI is 48. I've been overweight my whole life (I'm 26 now) and have never been able to lose weight and keep it off. My weight has yoyo-ed continuously through the past 4 years and I just want to get to a healthy weight and stay there.

I live in Hampton Roads and am looking to get my surgery from Mr. Clark at the Center for Weight Loss Success. They have a great program and Dr. Clark is an expert bariatric surgeon. I have a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Clark on June 5th. I have a bunch of questions written down. I really want to make sure this is the best option for me now.

I look forwarding to meeting and interacting with everyone on the forum!

Nice to meet you! I currently live in Smithfield, but I work in Williamsburg and go to school in Norfolk, so I'm all over Hampton Roads, lol.

What is going to be covered in your education class? My one-on-one meeting is tomorrow. I can't wait! I hope to be sleeved after my summer classes end and before Fall classes begin, so I have enough time to recover in between.

I actually just finished the class. It covers everything about the surgery. What to eat after and what vitamins and supplements to take. Now im waiting to see the surgeon for the 2nd time. I guess he goes over everything again. I can't believe i only have 10 days left. This was a 14 month process for me. I work at CNU and live in Right down the street from Dr Clarks office. I hope all goes well with you. Keep in touch. I think you can message me on here. Let me know how ur first visit with Clark goes. Id be interested to see what you think. ????

Will do! I'm so excited for tomorrow, I don't know what to do with myself, lol. What kind of work do you do for CNU? I have a few friends who went there. Great school. I go to ODU right now. Working on my masters in English. I hope to teach college-level English one day.

Will update after my one-on-one meeting!

Hello there, welcome! I am so excited for you. I'm not yet at the point of a consultation so I am anticipating hearing about yours, what you learn, etc. Please update us tomorrow after the consult! :)

Hey everyone!

I just got back from my one-on-one consultation. It went really well. Dr. Clark is super nice and friendly. I asked all my questions and he answered all of them. Apparently, I can't keep the part of my stomach that they take out. Huh, who would have thought?

I talked to one of the assistants and she tentatively penciled in my surgery for August 13, 2012. Now I just have to get my psych eval done with the doctor I've been seeing and I'm all set to go! I'm so excited! I can't wait to start living my new life!

Oh I am so happy to hear your consult went well! Your surgery date is coming up fast so make sure u get your information gathered and if u wanna practice a pre-op diet etc :)

How are you doing? Dr Clark was my doctor too.

Hey! Don't mess around. Take the material he provides, follow the program, study every webinar he made. Drink water, workout, and enjoy the results. Dr. Clark has all the tools you'll ever need. It's the patient that needs to make the procedure successful, he just enables you to do it! He's great!

Hi!

I made my decision in early April to have the procedure - gastric sleeve. I went to the seminar and decided to have it done as soon as possible. I was very excited and scheduled everything pre-op in one week. I went to my appointment with the surgeon today. Dr. Alfonso Torquati at Duke Hospital is going to be the surgeon. I am scheduled for 5/20 and so excited. I am diabetic and I have hypertension so I am so optimistic about the surgery and can't wait. I hope you decide to do it so you will be healthier!
