  2. thats what i hear!!! I'm hoping and praying ym skin will be ok. I have been fat my whooole life and for once id like to just look in the mirror and be like "daaayuum" i already feel like that on the inside...i just want it to shine thru! Can't wait can't wait. I'm self pay too so that seven more incentive to make it work.

I am pro-choice as well..however I do beleive that people under 18 should be allowed to have them. I know so many people who if their parents found out would kick them out/beat them...and so on. Which to me is just as terrible as bringing a child into this world when one is not ready. I do not think it should be used as a form of BC but it is there for a reason. The reaosn they made it ok for teens to secretly get abortions was exactly because of that...what soem parents would do...it would really put their children in danger.
  5. well....seeing as how I am probably the only person on this site that is close to jodie's age, (18) I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. 1. Jodi I'm not quite sure as to what kind of response you were hoping for from that thread...there wasn't really a question that you needed answer. maybe I am wrong. 2. I am 18 too. I know what it's like to want to go part. I have been out of highschool since i was 16. I worked my a** off to graduate early and have been working full time and going to school ever since. It feels ALOT better than going out partying with people who CLEARLY are not the best people around. Don't get me wrong I sitll have some appletinies with my best friends and just kick back. It's alot more fun partying when you are in control of the situation 3. As for being raped. I can completly understand what you mean. I too went thru something like this and honestly just acted as if it didn't happen. I did seek counseling and found that yes there are soem counselers that PISS me off cause i KNOW they don't know where i am comign from but I eventually did find one that just got me...it takes a few. 4. There is nothing wrong with being bi-polar...not saying you are...my sister is bi-polar...i love her dearly i just have to make sure to be catious of her moods. 5. You're right eveyone does go thru things in life people get sad people get super happy...but there are sometimes where those emotions can be too much. I'm not here to judge anyone or hurt anyones feelings....but when you said "tpypical 19/20 who wants to go out and party" i am your typical 19/20 year old and thats not what i do for fun. no i wasnt a loser in high school with no friends and thats why i dont party. my friends and i go camping road trips all the good stuff. dont get me wrong i have LOTS of fun...it just sounds like your having fun in not so fun places.
  6. Agreed. This hurts my eyes...er uhmmm maybe thats the bad lighting in my office. lol
  7. waterlily I noticed you had Dr. Montgomery as your surgeon. I am scheduled with him on the 23rd of may. YAY. I'm concerned that because he does have so many patients I will feel rushed..this being my very first surgery ever...it kinda freaks me out. Would you be willing to share you experience. Thanks much! Audrey
  8. Oh aha I totally just read ur signature. Dr.Michaelson started working there after I went for my seminar so he wans't a choice. It looks like you meet with him on the 23rd..I have my surgery that day. We might see eachother!
  9. yea! I have Dr. Montgomery! I'm so excited!! I see your going with NWWLS as well? Which surgeon do you want to get? Congrats on going to like THE best place lol. I LOVE NWWLS! =]
  10. Me too! I'm being banded on May 23rd by DR. Montgomery in Everett, WA at NWWLS. So Excited. I too will be returning to work on tuesday. It seems we all had the same idea in mind with memorial day being that monday. Fabulous timing. Anyone else scared about anestesia? I'm freakin out. I've never ever had a surgery before. YIKES!
  11. Blake and I went to the same high school...Inglemoor high woot woot. So I have to like him best. Haha. =]
  12. You go girl! I am sitting at my desk cracking up at this. I can totally relate to all of this! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. Thanks for telling it like it is.
  13. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: My surgery is scheduled on May 23rd at NWWLS with Dr. Kevin Montgomery. I'm self pay...weeellll, technically my mom is a self pay but I have to pay for it. Haha. Thank god for moms with good credit. I agree with alot of people it feels like it's still a dream...hasn't really sunk in yet. I'm REALLY nervous about my port showing...mostly because I am so young and don't have ANY stretch marks...no joke i have like half of one and its white, so I think my skin will bounce back just fine and I sooo don't want people askign me why I look like I have a tumor on my tummy.
  14. Hey there, I noticed some of you have had surgery done by Dr. Kelly Clinch at Evergeen Hospital. I happen to notice on his webiste that he charges $12,500 but will discount it to $8,000 if paid before the date of surgery. I would be able ot do this seeign as how I am goign to be Credit Card Self Pay. I know the fee doesn't include the hospital stay or the anesthesia cost. Does anyone know how much these would be, or if you had you're surgery done by Dr. Clinch how much did you pay, and were you self pay or did your insurance cover it any help is appreciated. Also any info on your expericen with him would be great to hear as well. (I know I could call and find out all of this but I'm stuck on the phones until 6 and then they close.) Thanks so much!! Audrey:p

  17. Thanks guys!!! I am soo shocked. I mean there were times where she told me she wouldn't help me. But she said that I have proven to her that I am responsible. I can't beleive it. She cares. It's hard for her too because sh ehas never ever ever been overweight like me...she was a red head bombshell in High School. But she knows how happy I will be. New life here I come!!!
  18. So if any of you have read my threads on here then you would know that I have gone round and round with the insurance companies...multiple ones actually mine and my mothers. I have been dealing with this since last summer. Wanting it for two years. Last night after being told that the lap band was an exclusion again, by a new insurance company I decided to just save up and go to Mexico. My mother said she would pay for half and I would pay for half. Ijust had to sav eup 5 grand. Just now I was sitting at my desk, I E-mailed my mom and said hey by the way I need your information for you're health insurance. When she responded she said, I will give it ot you tonight. By the way I called NWWLS today and you're surgery is May 23rd. You will need to pay for half of this but it's on my credit card. Don't tell dad yet. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT. Out of no where she did that I didn't even know she had a credit card for tha ammmount I was shocked. I think it is because she refinanced the hous,e but who knows. I am just so shocked. If any of you have seen the movie the secret then you will understand this. I finally decided to just think that I was going to have the surgery and everynight Iwould lsiten to the tape the secret to the secret and I told myself that I would have the surgery by June no matter what. Two weeks later I get that E-mail from by mom. And a surgery date at the end of may. Thought become things.

  20. Haahah I totally agree. I am a Pisces as well. I meet people who were born in march and I say ohhh are you a pisces and I get snapped at if they are an aquarius. =] Pisces Rock!
  21. Well.... I'd have to say that being of only 18 YOA I have experienced quite a few things. I dropped out of school and got my GED and enrolled in College cause it got so bad. Everyday at lunch two specific girls would moo at me from across the courtyard so everyone could hear. Yeah try eatign lunch a fter that happens...I can't tell you how many times I starved because I could eat infront of peole. Once I was riding my bike, probaby in 6th grade, and I had gotten off to push it up this very steep hill, when two GROWN MEN drove by in a pick up truck and said "Why don't you ride fat ass?" I remeber going home to my mommy telling her that even grown ups make fun of fat people too. Once told by an EX that I needed diet slim fast....and when I replied "uhm your retarded there is no such thing" he said well yeah why do you think I cheated on you...have you looked in an F***ing mirror...er wait could you even see all of your self in a mirror. I got in my car and said "hey sorry about your dick buddy...and get some proactive" Which by the way proactive rules. Then there was the time when my dad called my sister nad I slobs when we were in 5th grade...he continued to clal us fat pigs and then I do remember one tiem him threatening to chain up the fridge. But who the hell cares...he was a drunk back then. But just recently the big thing that hurt me was when we found out my moms insurance doesn't cover the lap band (which was a huge suprise because at her old company she had UHC and the did cover it...but I wasnt 18 then her new company had UHC as well so we just figured it would be the same coverage) I broke down into tears and my dad was so confused. He aksed well why don'y you just lose weight the normal way...diet and exercise instead of that belly band thing....GEE DAD if that worked I wouldn't be 275 pounds....anyways the fact that his daughter was considering major surgery and he didn't even know the name of it pissed me off. So I just looked at him and said "Dad you wouldn't understand you've never been fat you and mom were always the good lookign ones in high school always popular. Why do you think I'm fat...do you remember whe you calle dme and Amanda (my sister) names for all those years...oh no wait thats right you can't you were to bus guzzling bud light. I want this surgery because I want it for life. I want the gaurantee of never beign fat. Never being unhappy. I don't want to end up like you. 44 years old and miserable. " He never said a word to me about it again.
  22. YAY more good news! I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I've heard good things about them...well for THIS year that is. Glad to hear it worked out for you! Thanks for your help! I don't know what id dow ithout this website!
  23. Has anyone here been approved by BCBS of WA? If so did they make you do a supervised diet? Were you denied at all? Any info would be so appreciated.
  24. did you have to do any supervised diets or anything of the sort?
