seriously for small weight losses like that, do NOT get a surgery! The complications from the surgery are not worth the risk. Invest in a Personal trainer and nutritionist!

I haven't had a drink....wait,I take that back. I've had two shots of Bailey's Irish Cream, and it was good. I have a few bottles of wine that I need to dust off, but I have always been a light weight when it comes to drinking. Two glasses of wine and I start telling everyone how wonderful I think they are. I'll wait till I have company to open the wine.

Jealousy is the ugly green eyed monster and it is unfortunately a natural response for your cousion. I think you may want to look deeper at what she is really trying to tell you. She is scared, scared that if you loose weight and she does not that your feeling about her or how you look at her will change. Your choice to have surgery was a personal choice and everyone has to want it for the right reasons and yours are sincere and for the right reasons. Give her time and space and hopefully she will come around and realize that fat or thin you are the same person. I the am half the person I used to be but I am the same person inside that I was 3 years ago, difference is I like me better. Remember you can not change her and how she feels but you can be in control of how you respond to her comments and reactions as you loss weight. Texflea, congrats on being banded. It sounds just like gas pains. Each day you should feel better. It took me a least a week or more to stop having the back pain, so what you're going through is normal. Use your pain meds as needed, but as Stept04 said, if your pain becomes worse, call your doctor.

I'm sorry but going to a couple of parties and carrying things to help out shouldn't cause your incisions to break open and "leak" at almost 4 weeks out. This sounds like a low grade infection that's been there all along. Taking it easy wouldn't make a difference. There shouldn't be any leaking of anything, normally. Keep an eye on your temp, if it goes up, get medical attention, ok? Best of luck to you!

Talk over your worries with your doctor. I had surgery on Feb. 25, and haven't had a fill yet. On my last visit with the doctor, we decided I was doing well with out one. I will have a fill on my next visit. My loss is slowing down now, but I'm still pleased with my progress.

Could you hang out in town, do a little shopping? Take a book, go to the park and read? Take your camera and find something interesting, go to the zoo? Just thought if you are there that early, you could find something fun to do, and if you have a problem, head back to the office before your long drive home. Or even a night over? Good luck! You will do fine!

Thank you, Jim. Well written. I am 11 days post-op and have been checking the scale every day. I can't complain. It's going in the right direction. Every day I feel better and have more energy. I know with work and patience, I can do this.
